Yeah, I'm one of those people who think that Toon Sheik was really what was said on the tin.....

I think Sakurai just wanted to add Toon Zelda alone in Brawl but still wanted to keep her in line with the other Zelda so he wanted to make a Wind Waker styled Sheik in order to implement her but the idea didn't go through for one reason or another.

From a game design point of view. It's probably because a Toon Sheik doesn't really work too well as a quick semi clone of Sheik due to her stubby legs and required more work than it was worth just to add the other half of the counterpart and there probably wasn't really a good substitute attack to be used as a down special for Toon Zelda at the time (Spirit Tracks wasn't a thing yet during Brawl after all) so the whole idea was scrapped.

If Sakurai still wants to add Toon Zelda on her own now like he apparently wanted to in Brawl, he can now due to the removal of transformations so he wouldn't have to worry about implementing a Toon version of Sheik as well.

I still say we may get one more veteran because we technically have two verterans dlc. On the website it listed Mewtwo as a new character while Roy and Lucas as veterans. If we do get only two more, it would make sense to have three veterans and three newcomers. We may think Mewtwo is a verteran but the website says he's a new challanger as well as Iwata saying it in the direct. This all may not mean anything but something to point out.

Based on the Fighter Bundle #1 thing, I suspect we will get 4 characters that will be in a 2nd Fighter bundles and those characters being:

1. Wolf
2. K.Rool
3. Isaac
4. Ballot character

or

1. Wolf
2. Isaac
3. Another character from an under rep-ed series (i.e Sylux, Black Shadow, etc)
4. Ballot character (That character being K.Rool)

Also @ PushDustIn , I heard there was a new Famitsu column where Sakurai mentions K.Rool.

Is this true? I'm not really familiar with Sakurai's Famitsu columns, so I presume you are the best person to ask XD

The Bowser change is difficult to quantify as a buff/nerf without testing; the practical effect of this more diagonal trajectory change on the horizontal side is it's going to KO a bit later from center stage and on platforms, but is going to KO a bit earlier on the sides of stages. It's probably overall going to be a slight nerf as I think it'll be KOing a bit later on average since it's closer to a pure diagonal trajectory, and diagonal trajectories are generally the least desirable trajectory on KO moves, though a 60 degree angle is pretty bad already and it won't really effect Bowser. I think it's mainly a quality-of-life change made to give down smash what they thought was a more fitting trajectory, rather than a real balance adjustment.

The Falcon change means his jab finisher has less reach and thus won't be hitting a foot in front of his fist anymore. An objective nerf, but it fixes one of the most egregious cases of hitbox dissonance in the game, and it won't be affecting Falcon's gameplan.

For instance, in my first year of high school this book on the history of manga was extremely popular. Especially the section on hentai. How that book found its way in the schoool library I'll never know.
Then there was the book on drawing manga girls. The book showed that you had to sketch the girls naked first. Then you had to erase their *ahem* parts and add their underwear. Then you erase that to add whatever skimpy outfit the character was wearing.

Famitsu Columns come out in the middle of the week if they are really juicy (Press leaks), Friday's if they aren't. The last Famitsu Column, 484 was about Iwata's funeral. We have it translated, just need to do a final check. We still got at least 3 days for a Famitsu column.

I do have to wonder where we would be if the following had happened.
Snake actually got in Melee and potentially even Sonic.

It would have been 99% certain Ganondorf would have gotten into Brawl as a newcomer if he wasn't made a clone in Melee; his star rose even more significantly in the period between Melee and Brawl while Zelda remained the top tier franchise it is, he would have no doubt been hugely demanded and potentially the most demanded newcomer for the game, and there would be no obstacles to his inclusion. The question would be not if he would be in to begin with, but how different his moveset would have been if he didn't get in first as a clone in Melee (and which Brawl newcomer or two wouldn't have potentially gotten in to accommodate the higher priority Ganondorf being made, assuming Brawl still had the same exact development process and everything).

I think the whole "original 12 can never get cut!" is a bull**** fanmade assertion and the "original 12" never got cut because of their own merits throughout the franchise rather than adherence to an arbitrary decree, thus Jigglypuff would have still stuck around regardless of if Ness was cut in favor of Lucas in Melee to keep the "original 12 can never get cut" from ever being a thing.

I believe Go Nagai was the one who started it all. His work on Violence Jack took it even further. Funny enough Nagai also created the Magical Girl genre (Cutie Honey) and the Super Robot genre too (Mazinger)

I 100% believe that if Ganondorf hadn't been added in Melee, he would've had a very different moveset.

Though I think the idea of being a very powerful heavyweight would be kept. Of course, he likely would have the sword and maybe a magic long range attack (projectile, shockwave). Ganondorf being an embodiment of power is a recurring theme for the character, after all.

Ganondorf being a Captain Falcon clone in Melee was technical convenience rather than anything else. The SpaceWorld 2000 demo model just happened to be best suited for Falcon's animations. They replaced the fire effects with darkness and electric effects to reflect the kind of magic he uses.

In Brawl, they overhauled a lot of his animations, gave him a Ganon transformation Final Smash and mixed some hand-to-hand moves he occasionally uses in the Zelda series (notably his forward tilt and the Flame Choke) into the moveset.

I'm sure most of the people reading that book weren't interested in the history.
Regardless if anyone believes me, I did read the book for the history. I was consumed by everything until I got to the hentai section.

What I find intresting is that the update seemed to slightly increase the difference between Pit and Dark Pit. Pit got a larger hitbox on his jab ender and DP's arrows got stronger. I wonder if this will effect anything ever.

That was like the Proto Man outfit for me. It literally looks exactly like Proto Man.

My fave of this batch is Black Knight. Swordsfighter Mii's are the best.
