The Mii Outfits that make the Mii look exactly like the character it's supposed to be are the best for me. That's why I'm not a fan of the K. Rool and AC ones, because you still see the Mii face.

Same here actually. I actually purchased all Mii costumes as I do actually play as them from time to time. Gotta be able to play as Professor Layton somehow.... The more well made ones are actually really fun to use. Such as Protoman and the Inklings. Especially if you use the right size and face for them.

I'd recommend this Mii made by So0oper for the Inkling girl personally.

I never stated it because I don't have an opinion on who the three likeliest newcomers are.

The pool of candidates is so large that I'm not certain enough to pick three and run with them. I prefer to stick to just determining who has a realistic chance and who doesn't.

I'm wondering if there's a max point that fighting games can reach in terms of playable characters. 50-60 seems to be the maximum, at least for games that attempt balance. Dragonball and Bleach type games care about the canon of the story more than balence so they can post 5 billion characters on the box and pad the roster out with minor characters.

It seems fighting game now (Killer Instinct and Street Fighter 5) have the model of starting with 12 or so and slowly add more as time goes on. Of course that's more a monetization option.

Smash 5 (or 6 if you're gonna be that guy who counts 3ds as a separate game despite it duplicating the fighting engine.) may be some challenge.

I can't imagine that Sakurai or whoever replaces him would try to remove people to go back to basics, but at the same time, there is a point where balance is just going to be ****ing impossible.

He might throw caution to the wind and say that ''Balance is kind of secondary. It's a party game with items after all."

Which would effectively kill the competitive side of the community all together.

I could make a case for Zelda and Ganondorf but I'll drop it. I thought OOT was finished and released around the development of Smash 64

But there was a planned Metroid game for the N64, some of its ideas I think went into Prime 1.

There was never a Metroid game in production, the idea was thrown around internally several times in the N64 era, but "they couldn't come out with any concrete ideas" (Sakamoto) so nothing ever came of it.

Is it just me or have we lost a ton of people?

The move from Leak group to Nzone saw a pretty substantial reduction in the number of posts from many of the old regulars. Also, I personally don't see the point in arguing in circles when we have no real frame of reference or basis for said arguments. I really don't care for speculation until we get some more concrete information, and I'm sure others feel the same way.

I mean Smash isn't built with competition in mind.

Not in the same way that other fighting game series are.

So it could just as easily come to Sakurai finally solidifying that the unpredictable balance of playing with items is the ''true" way to play it, in the sake of appeasing those who don't want cuts, but also want more newcomers.

Which is fine to me. A party game was his vision as it's artist and I'd rather he appease his own vision than bend over to appease what the competitive community forgets is truly the secondary way to play Smash.

Yes, they're two different entities, but it's still the same company. It's not like relations are going to be great with America but terrible with Japan or vise versa.

Also, come to think of it.... weren't Megaman and Sonic the most wanted third parties in both the official N64 to Melee and official Melee to Brawl polls? Don't have the data on hand. Can you help me out with the most wanted third party reps @PushDustIn?

As long as they have the rights to the 3rd parties, I doubt they'll be cut, it's a win-win situation for both sides.
If anyone is getting cut for the sake of getting cut, then it will probably be the clones and other minor characters(like Greninja as much as it hurt to say this)

Yeah, they are but due to how connected both franchises are with the one company, it won't be too hard to deal with.

The only character that has a shot depending on his situation is Pacman because itll depend on if Namco us willing to help again and if thats the case then he sticks around.

Both & were respectfully #1 & #2 most requested characters for Brawl.

It's why people were so high on Megaman on getting in Smash and Sonic returning.

Maybe, but in the time between Smash 4 and 5, things could happen to Sega, Namco and Capom. Capcom could be bought by Sony, Sega could go bankrupt and Nintendo and Namco's relationship could become sour. So that it is also why I see Pac-man, Megaman, Sonic and Ryu with lowest priority for returning in Smash 5, since its relatively unknown what could happen to them. Say unlike Shulk, Monolith Soft may split from Nintendo at some point, but they won't be taking Shulk with them, since Xenoblade Chronicles series is owned by Nintendo. Samething applies with Pokemon and Game Freak, Nintendo owns the franchise, Game Freak just develops it, so they won't be to use any of the Pokemon series characters again if they spilt from Nintendo.

And Megaman was #1 for Smash 4. I'm pretty sure they've lead every poll (remember, the ballot is the first time a world wide poll was done, but this sort of thing happens at the close of every Smash game in Japan) in third party requests since the beginning. I just wanted to confirm that.
