Nah, nothing obscure. Just something probably unexpected by many people. Kind of like Ryu (he had support I know, but I think after Mega Man's reveal at 2013, I don't think many would have seriously expected him for DLC).

Dunno, has Nintendo actually stated that the DLC (after the ballot is over) is only going to be ballot characters? I can see them slipping in some of their own choices. I don't think it's super likely but I can see it happening. I mean, it doesn't mean it's a smart thing to do, but Nintendo tends to be unpredictable.

Yeah Sceptile is really unlikely. I haven't even support for him in like, ever.
Toon Zelda isn't that likely from the ballot either. Tetra, maybe, but not Toon Zelda by herself.

I did read, like I said I was rushed to respond because I had class. Here's the rest of the points I was going to make/ response to your newer post.

In polling a greater number of votes does not equal more accuracy. You could ask 100 or 1,000 body builders about their personal fitness trainers but it doesn't make it any more right when trying to understand "How healthy Americans are".

In a way fan polls on Smash sites are exactly like that. Unless we can get all people who voted, they are never going to be accurate. And if Melee and Brawl are anything to go by, then they will never release the official data.

The truth of the matter is most of us will buy whoever they release. They need to cater to the lowest denomitor. Roy and Lucas makes sense as people are already familiar with them. Ryu makes sense because most people are aware of who he is. K Rool? People might not know who he is. Looking at how many mentions K Rool or any other character have on "greatest characters ever" lists in the recent years will tell us if they are on the public conscious. Seeing how much fan art they have outside of the hardcore Smash community is another good indicator. I'm just afraid that we are getting so wrapped up in our Smash world that we are ignoring the bigger picture. I really enjoy this debate with you Swampasaur, so I hope you aren't taking it personal at all. DMurr and I had a similar debate over the course of the last few days and it's something that's been on my mind.

To piggyback off of this, I think we have to realize that popularity among the general community is a huge factor in DLC. Just by the nature of DLC, they need to make characters that people will want to buy. Mewtwo, Roy and Lucas are popular characters from previous games, so the people who played those games will be likely to buy them (which isn't a small number). Ryu is quite popular among the gaming community in general, and is sure to get a lot of sales as well.

Which is exactly why we have the ballot. While I'm sure popularity isn't the only factor, it's definitely a big one. K Rool may be popular among the Smash community, but the gaming community as a whole doesn't care for him too much, as you said. He hasn't even been in a game for years, if we get a DK newcomer at all Dixie is the most popular by far. Characters who are only popular among the Smash community like Isaac, as much as I would love to see them, have next to no chance for DLC. They need iconic characters that almost everybody will recognize and want to play as, in addition to veterans of course. If we're going to determine which characters are likely, we have to look at which characters are popular in the gaming/Nintendo community at large.

Though also remember that the ballot carries over to Smash 5, which isn't limited by sales in nearly the same way. Characters like King K. Rool actually have a chance there, especially after the ballot has shown just how popular they are among the Smash community. I think that characters which are given costumes are pretty likely to be included in Smash 5 (depending on the character and their reason for getting a costume, of course). Though I still think that we can't be sure that the K. Rool costume is tied to the ballot.

You are missing my point. More people doesn't necessarily mean accuracy. If you are asking the same type of people you are bound to get skewed data. This is something that I studied as a political science major. That's why polls aren't even considered that accurate without being checked by another organization. Even if the data is found to be represented a margin of error is created. The margin of error is based on a lot of factors and not just the amount.

And for a long time we based all of our cut content information off one post that we took as truth. I'm just asking for everyone to at least entertain the idea that our data might have some bias in it. Especially as we are polling the same type of people over and over again..

I completely agree, and that's actually the reason why I never post actual DLC predictions (I only give what I think of each character's chances. I think there's not very much DLC left, and there's a load of viable candidates that are difficult to pick between and be confident about).

With that said, all the characters who were on my DLC wishlist are either dead in the water or on life support from my perspective, so all of the speculating I do is going to be based on popular picks and the theories based around them.

Wow, that really is a bold prediction. I was going the other way with it - Smash will skip the NX and come out on the console after it. Let some time fall between it so new characters and ideas are born.

Which is so upsetting to think about.

I wonder what the launch titles for the NX will be.

This sounds like that silly Brawl rumour that went around it was released, that Brawl was delayed because they had to remove him from the game.



Okay, I manage to get to phase 3, the part where the boss's side panels start to move. I'm able to get Ink on the panels, but as soon as I manage to lay down the Ink I need to use to get up the panels the boss gets up, and I'm unable to get up the panels quick enough. Also I'm having trouble just keeping track of when the boss will slap down, so at times I'm able to easily dodge it, but on others I get splattered.

I remember that part. You can actually ink more than one side and you dont have to try to swim up as soon as you finish laying the ink. I also spent time just inking the ground right before he gets up just so I could get away faster. IIRC, I only inked one or part of one side on the first stamp, the second time he he tried to stamp me is when I noticed that I could ink both sides (i went to the wrong side but still inked the path), and by the third time I just inked up the path and pumped his **** full of lead based ink.

If you just ink the path the first time and make an escape route, you can just wreck him the second. You might even be able to do it the first time if you're lucky or are really fast and have god-like aim.

EDIT:
I was just playing MH3U and was taking on a Steel Uragaan as a bow user. I died twice because a deviljho kept crashing the party. I was close to killing/capturing it, but I accidentally started setting a trap (it was right next to my full life healing item) and that steely bugger murdered my dead during the long, uncancelable set up animation. Thanks MH -_-

Still not sure about Smash NX. Honestly, Smash 4 is growing; we haven't discovered the full potential of that game. Yes, it may seem like I'm talking in a competitive sense but it is what it is. Lots of new stuff are being found and as the game gets better, it's more enjoyable to watch/play. Even if there's jank.

In regards to NX itself, I'd like to hear more about it. This year is almost over so details will come soon. I'm more interested on its form-factor and see if they say that it will replace Wii U.

As much as I loathe speculation (mainly because of boring arguments and salt every time the roster is leaked), I'd rather give it [Smash 4] time before the hypothetical Smash for NX is announced. Exciting as always, this won't be surprising. Maybe people will create support threads for the now disconfirmed Smash 4 characters.

And if it ever is, I want another handheld Smash. Hey, the 3DS version worked.
