I know that feel. Heck, I have no problem with Russian women and think they tend to be hot, but I get annoyed by "hot russian singles".

I think the general thoughts are that it's a fun game that needs more polish. I've only heard two sources outright call it bad. Also, no one got their hands on multiplayer yet, so the early impressions are incomplete by default.

It's not really the same thing.

Charizard and Little Mac are proof that Pokeball Pokemon and Assist Trophies can be promoted between games. It still hasn't happened within the same game.

Honestly, though, even if this leak is real, it doesn't really tell us anything other than that a few Assist Trophies are being put into consideration. "K. Rool and Paper Mario may or may not be DLC" is nothing we didn't already know.

Everything is just really really vague and written in a way that it can't really be proven or disproven. NR says there's 15-20 characters on this list and only gave us the identity of a few of them. Even if the DLC ends up being, say, K. Rool and a few characters he never mentioned, he could still be called legit and say the unmentioned characters were on the shortlist.

Actually talking of Krystal, I actually saw someone claim she is a bland character, and say the rest of the Starfox Crew are really interesting characters. All I could really say to that was, doesn't matter where you fall on the side of the Krystal debate, all the Star Fox crew's personalities are cardboard cut outs, pretty much these are the defining personalities of the crew:
Fox: The Leader
Falco: A jerk
Slippy: The Mechanic
Peppy: The old guy
Rob 64: Is a robot

So pretty much all members of Starfox are pretty bland when it comes down to it.

All this talk about Daisy, but I'm hoping that Pauline is a special retro character in the next Smash. She's neither a "Mario" character, nor a "Donkey Kong" character. Or, perhaps, she's both.

She's listed under Donkey Kong in Smash. But good luck making a moveset for her.

It failed somewhat spectacularly in that regard, though, as it did not provide any initial or sustained bump in Wii U hardware sales.

Also, the 3DS is not the DS, it did well, but it's not a money printing monster. It's actually projected to sell less than 7 million this year which is somewhat disastrous when combined with Wii U projections.

I liked this, but because I hope if Takamaru gets in, he's added soon. The whole "rule" that characters with an in-game role can't be voted for on the ballot is completely made up by fan assumptions.

Judging from the info given, it would be Waluigi not Takamaru.

And while this "NPCS GOT A CHANCE NOW" hype train starts rolling, I think it's worth noting that not very many of them have a notable following judging from polls and info gathered from forums.

Even if it is a possibility, the pool of ones that could get promoted is likely very, very small.

Indeed. One that's defended religiously as well, despite it helping nobody.
That rule SHOULD be broken for numerous reasons.

That's because those that voted in the polls were led to believe that they had no chance, it's pretty obvious that they would get a lot more votes if they hadn't been "disconfirmed"

What difference does it make?

It doesn't matter why they have little support and perform poorly in polls. Fact of the matter is, they do.

Even if we were to suddenly discover that they are still a possibility, the damage has already been done.

I dunno what that has to do with anything.

My point wasn't about how they'd go about dealing with their existing role; it was about the fact that not many of the NPCs have a lot of support.

This is sadly, very true.
Here why I advocate for voting for them in the Ballot regardless of circumstances.
Especially if it affects future games.
This is a video game. Vote with your heart!

I believe the ballot is going to give the team some ideas of who to include in the next Smash Bros, not just the DLC. So I believe the now-AT characters should be saved for the next Smash Bros. I don't see Takamaru, Waluigi, and other Assists becoming playable within the same game where they're AT.


IMO, I like the "rule" (which its existence is very evident) itself. I think it'd be kind of weird to have a character with 2 major roles. Remember, they went out of their way to disable Dedede's cameo from the Dreamland 64 stage while he is present as a fighter.


So with all that said, I don't think there's an issue with people voting for AT characters in the ballot. The ballot can easily affect the next game. So it's totally not a waste of a vote at all.

I had the weirdest dream of all time.

My mother somehow got into the game media industry while I am in College.

It's E3 and she went to an exclusive Smash event where she found out about a character coming to the game before the general public.

It was Ferris Buehler.

Ferris was coming to Smash.

I came here to leak it to you all but no one believed me.
