summer is quite boring usually when it comes to this, I mean, I was so glad potd were a thing.....(that and July 10 for FINALLY debunking that leak.....I hated it so much).

And how ironic that Duck Hunt was the "surprise character", when Wii Fit Trainer was a bigger surprise overall.

Mostly because anything Smash related is probably for EVO or when Peach's Castle/Hyrule Castle and Tournament mode are done.

Ahhh, yes, the "But a game is coming out soon, and it'd be perfect for advertisement!" theory. Hate to break it to you, but that's never happened. Every single theory that's been cooked up like that has been false. Impa? Sceptile? Captain Toad? Inkling?
Hell, it's happened with Wolf already. Remember when everyone swore up and down that we'd get a Wolf DLC trailer at E3 after the Star Fox reveal?
DLC slots are limited, and there's reason to believe veterans may be finished. Wolf still has a decent shot, but he's nowhere near "all but confirmed", and people really need to start opening themselves up to the very real possibility that he won't be coming back.

The idea of Sonic Generations 2 taking place in the worlds of different SEGA IPs actually sounds plausible. The idea reminds me alot of the Worlds Unite comic event currently taking place.oh heck i never saw this

Nope, we translated all the slides that were available.
We have parts of some of the character breakdowns (Dedede, Olimar and Shulk) coming in the near future though.

Damn, I really wanted to see the slides for each newcomer, even if Sakurai was smart enough to not show the slides for the ones that didn't make it.
Especially Wii Fit Trainer's, considering that Duck Hunt was the token "surprise character" of the game.
What made Sakurai even think to consider her, for example?
-Did it have to do with how well Wii Fit sold?
-Was Sakurai specifically thinking about a possible female character he could add?
-Did the concept of a yoga pose fighting style come to mind first and he decided she was the perfect outlet for it?
-etc.

He talks a little bit more about Wii Fit Trainer's inclusion in a reflection somewhere. That's on the list of things to translate/ write about it.

I think it would be for the reasons you listed, although I don't know about the second reason (female characters) considering he had Robin with both genders from the start...
He mentioned one time when talking about her and Villager that he took into consideration a a lot of "non fighter fighters" for this roster. Both of those series have great sales. I think that was the general mindset there.
I remember reading that at least. Sorry I'm on my phone or I would've found a source.

That's not exactly what he said.
What he had said was that during Brawl's planning stages, characters that were non-combatant-like were excluded. While in Smash 4, the concept of individuality and interest held more importance, allowing for characters like Villager and Wii Fit Trainer to join the battle.
All the characters in the final release were decided upon at the very beginning, before the slides were presented. Including Greninja, who didn't even have a name yet.

Note, Duck Hunt was the token "surprise character", not unlike Melee's Mr. Game & Watch and Brawl's R.O.B.
That doesn't mean you should speculate a dozen random characters for the sake of "no one expects them

yea i want to collect them all. its taken me a while, but i almost own all of the current waves. but, i also managed to order a dark pit, zero suit samus, palutena, and ganondorf amiibo. though they are all from japan, they are a hell of a lot cheaper than the US and European versions that i see on ebay and i'm not gonna bother waiting outside a store or preorder them online. thank God for no region lock amiibos. so hopefully by the end of next week i'll have 41 amiibos. lol.
