Honestly though, the thing that made the ninendo handhelds work out as well as they did is because they are relativly easy to develop on (especially the DS from what i understand), so it allowed developers to make third party stuff for it really easily (ironic considering their homeconsoles i know), but that means really the less powerful the better

I have been hyped for that movie for ages, like since it was announced as just a title and concept, because the concept sounds awesome.

There doesn't need to be some secret motive behind every newcomer's addition.

That's why it annoys me so much when people make those "ZOMG <insert character from an upcoming game here> CONFIRMED FOR SMASH!!!!1111" comments. The only character we know of who was in Smash for the purpose of advertising was Roy in Melee. There's really not much precedent for those theories at all.

As for the Miyamoto part, Sakurai shoots him down all the time. Don't forget, Miyamoto suggested Kirby be yellow, but Sakurai insisted on pink.

That's what I feel like iconic characters can ignore that situation because how memorable they are. It's just that they can atleast go by the parameters of 'Being on a Nintendo system' if not, any average video game character can get in for the sake of that.

One character that can ignore that issue is Cloud

Yes, I know, but that's not really what I'm talking about. Roy wasn't in Brawl. I don't mean cut content from previous games, I mean content cut or specifically saved for DLC in this game, Smash 4. Sakurai was concerned that gamers would think the DLC was content specifically saved during development for post release. Lucas could've appeared that way because they started with Brawl as a base, but Roy wasn't in that game.

Snake has a shot. He's a veteran and a third party. That sounds like good sales status right there, now that we know they're willing to use third parties for DLC.

Uhh......how do obscene drawings make it pointless?

Trolls are everywhere and there's no real way to prevent them from ever showing up. Even with moderators watching over, some will slip through the cracks. It's inevitable.

The stage is a good idea, in my opinion, and a lot of the stuff that's already been doodled is really neat. A few immature little douchebags thinking they're funny and edgy by drawing penises shouldn't ruin it for the rest of us.

Sony is footing the bill.
That's the same as people asking why Bayonetta 2 is only on Wii U.

That said, capcom is one of the few 3rd parties that stuck with nintendo. Wii U didnt get the main RE's but it got plenty of spin offs. It also got plenty of remasters and a few exclusives.

I'd love Wii U to get some form of capcom fighting game, but some people (not necessarily you) are acting like Capcom is $#!77ing on every non-sony console.

-Rosalina and Bowser Jr. have their places swapped to reflect that Jr. came before her.
-Doc, Yoshi, and Wario treated as "spin-offs" and ordered on the screen by appearance. Doc integrated into the Mario row.
-Ganondorf moves next to Zelda for a better representation of the Triforce.
-Dark Pit integrated into the Kid Icarus section.
-Ness and Lucas moved up into "multi-series-rep" order since Lucas returned.
-Fire Emblem series is now ordered by game appearance. Marth > Roy > Ike > Awakening characters. Robin placed after Lucina due to being the most distinguished from the other FE characters.
-Pokemon reps ordered by Gen with Pikachu and Jigglypuff getting the first two spots. This is due to them being original 12 members. The rest is ordered by the dex.
-Rest of single-rep series ordered appropriately.
-Third parties get their proper section followed by Miis and Random.

You're saying Spyro is a "top third party candidate" and that the presence of Bowser and DK in Skylanders is a good sign for him. Everyone who replied to you replied with that in mind.

I don't think everything Nintendo does is Smash related, I don't even expect any more 3rd Party characters for this Smash.

I know for Bomberman, Konami has the copyright, and his series is dead but Sakurai is willing to fight for the characters he wants. Characters like Spyro and even Rayman don't have as much history as Snake, Sonic, PacMan, Ryu or Megaman. They premiered in later generations, so their fans are focused within the younger fan base. The 3rd party characters that have been in Smash so far all have cross-generation recongizition. Using newer 3rd party characters has to happen eventually, but I think there's still some characters left.

That is not to say I thknk Sakurai will only choose old characters to be in Smash. I don't think Alex Kidd will ever be in Smash (maybe as a trophy).

Based on the logic I used for the FE placement, you're right.

If I were to order Pokemon by Dex, Pikachu (the series mascot) wouldn't be first. This is inconsistent with the rest of the roster having original 12 members first in their series lines, so I put Chu/Jiggs first. The rest are sorted by dex, though.


I mention the second screen is unpolished. I made it prior to the changes on the first. I'll update it a little later

Considering Sonic was invented in 1991 and Rayman in 1995. There's only a difference of 4 years.

Actually hmmm... that does look a bit weird... due to the Gen 1 starters lineup. Maybe DEX order won't be enough. Alterately it could go like this:

Pikachu, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Pichu, Lucario, Greninja

This way we have the first form, second form and third form arranged in order since they are kind of a trio (but seperate now), although the DEX order is a bit off now.
