Gonna agree with Burb and say the max is 4. The two Mario placeholders and two ballot picks.

That's what I am thinking and holding out hope for. Would be disappointed but not completely surprised to just have the two slots remaining, and I could also see us getting 6 more total (although I think that's a long shot.)

I'm in agreement here. I'm hoping for Wolf and then the ballot character.

I'd really hate for us to get a new Smash on NX so soon after this one just came out though- i don't want Smash to become like CoD where they release new games every year or so- i'd rather have Smash on the NX come out in the middle of it's life cycle, should the NX replace the Wii U. Smash 4 is great and deserves us playing it more than only a few years- Melee was out 7 years and Brawl was out 6 years before replacement games came around. If Smash NX comes out during the NX's life cycle instead of at the beginning, then at least more time will have passed for more newcomers and more ideas.

Not gonna lie here. If we get Wolf.
I'll be happy. I want the Ice Climbers I really do (If we get them back all the better)
But with this talk about the NX version, I have no doubt they shall come out with it.
Anything from the ballot is honestly extra to what we already have.
And at the rate we are going I might get Isaac or K Rool one day.
3 is my max honestly.

Multiple things, for those interested:
As mentioned before, Metroid Prime's producer confirmed that Sylux is in fact who was following Samus at the end of Metroid Prime 3 and wants to expand on the relationship between Samus and Sylux.
He’s actually chasing after Samus, and that’s where that game ends. There’s still more I want to build around the story of Sylux and Samus. There’s something going on between them. I want to make a game that touches upon [it].”

“I’m also thinking that, in that eventual game between Sylux and Samus that might get made, that I wants to involve the [Galactic] Federation as well. So it would be a good idea to release a game like Federation Forces to flesh out its role in the galaxy before moving on to that.”
What I found interesting about this reading it the second time is that he also directly calls Sylux a male gender pronoun. While that doesn't necessarily confirm anything, the Metroid wiki states that it's unknown what gender Sylux is.

Fire Emblem Fates is definitely split into two versions, but in my opinion the following description makes it very clear who the "bad guys" are. @ Swamp Sensei Swamp Sensei I know we talked about this before.
Two versions of the franchise’s new installment offer players an unprecedented choice: fight an opposing force or join the other side and try to make changes from within. For the first time in the series, players take on the role of the main character and command an army, while struggling to decide which path to follow: helping blood relatives or the family that raised him or her. The game is scheduled to launch in 2016.
Play as Hoshido and fight off the bad guys, or play as Nohr and make the bad guys good. Unless I have the description backwards because I don't think you "join" Nohr because yous start as it. Also apparently there's a decent amount of transforming characters.

You don't have to use motion controls in Star Fox Zero. (I don't know what that source is though).

Also, in response to @PushDustIn -
I don't disagree with you that it's something we shouldn't be surprised with happening. It's just like how everyone for Brawl didn't like the idea of the 35-character roster leak, expected more and then was disappointed. I just personally don't see how they can just jump ship to the next one so quick, unless they port Smash 4 over to the NX. If the NX comes out in 2017, I don't expect a new Smash game until 2019, simply because Sm4sh simply needs a longer life than that. It's huge, in terms of content and hype. Brawl was released in 2008, but development for this game didn't start until 2012, with it's release in 2014. Brawl was out for 6 years before the next follow-up. Even a 2019 release is only 5 for Smash 4.

In my opinion, it makes complete sense to support it up until Q1 2016, because of what you mentioned about DLC development not starting until after release. Mewtwo and wave 1 of DLC weren't available until April, which is a full 5-6 months after the release of the game. They presumably worked on all of this content during that time, and it's obvious that they're still working on more. Someone else pointed out this earlier, but both of the other 64 stages that are coming look essentially completed. Sakurai announced that and the YouTube uploads and Tourney mode coming in August. It's a safe assumption that they likely already have almost everything they're releasing that month either planned, finished, or in development.

At the very least, I think we could get something every two months this year, which is how long it seems to take them to develop a character or two, which gives us August, October and December. If we look at the total development time of the game (~2 years) where they made 51 characters, and many single player modes, trophies, etc., and they've been developing the DLC for 6 months now(albeit with an unknown amount of decrease in the team size), I don't think it's unreasonable to expect more than 5 characters in the future.

Now that I'm thinking it all out, I think my most likely theory is that the remaining 2 of the 5 "Mario" slots will be part of another big DLC pack in August.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm of the theory that the Smash game for the NX will be Sm4sh + DLC, and that they'll continue to make DLC because of that. If they decide to go with making a whole new game for the NX, then I agree, they'll stop supporting this game with post-launch content this year. I could see one final big DLC pack as a wave 3 in August, then minimalist "packs" in October and December based off the ballot.

Actually I remember some people asking why Super Mystery Dungeon wasn't in the Digital Event.

I'm actually glad it wasn't shown in the event as all the stupid hate that Metroid Federation Force got? Could you imagine the hate it would get for not being the 7th gen games? I don't want that to happen to Mystery Dungeon sub-series.

Also does anyone else hope that Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival is shown on the treehouse? I want it to be shown so that we actually see what the game plays like.

The reception to Super MD has been great so far though, especially after the massive letdown that was Gates to Infinity.

Well I was more pointing out all the hate the Digital Event had, and the pointless hate Metroid Prime Federation Force got from the Metroid fanbase, now remember that the Pokemon fanbase is much bigger, so I'm afraid that the hate Super Mystery Dungeon could have received for not being a mainline Pokemon game.

I'd say neat.

It's not even on the floor show. Apparently the show floor is worse than the DE.
What isn't on the show floor?
Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival or Super Mystery Dungeon?

Anything with Ice Climbers would be exciting because that means they overcame their technical issues. Doesn't matter what the other content is.

Would be glad for IC overcoming technical difficulties. Would switch out Pichu for Snake though.

As for DLC characters I think we'll see 3 more at the minimum, six at the maximum.

I'll say it.

I think people are being too conservative with their guesses now. The game has changed. We just got three characters at once, four months before the ballot even ends. Three characters who were clearly financially successful, but also extremely well received by the fanbase.

More are coming.

Eh, while that sounds like a good point, it's also the exact same sort of thing I heard time and time again from people who insisted Mario Kart 8 DLC is still ongoing.

Hey we could still see Mario Kart 8 DLC, but I'm thinking more along the lines that it isn't impossible, but unlikely.

Although you are probably right on no Mario Kart 8 DLC, seeing as with the DLC we effectively have 2 Mario Kart games.

But we at least know two more are on the way because of the placeholders. That's more than what MK8 fans have to work with.

IT COULD STILL HAPPEN.

It won't happen.

I think two characters every two month's might be doable depending on the types of characters they are working on, especially if there are some existing assets for them to use.

Lucas apparently has the exact same lose animation as Ness (he even blinks at the exact same time....)

If the AC game had the boardgame mode and was a port of New Leaf it'd do much better...People would be mad, but it'd be better than what they have now...

They outright said in the stream that the board game was only part of the full game, and there's more to it they can't talk about yet.

Mario Kart laid all their cards on the table. Smash hasn't.

For Smash, we know more unannounced characters are coming. The question is how many.

Lucas shares the following things with Ness:
He has the same clapping animation both Losing and No Contest.
His stage grab animation is very similar if not the same.
His being Grabbed animation is near identical.
His standing on edge animation is also the same from what I see.
Not to mention the models are nearly the exact same.
But who cares really :D

Well, at least Nintendo was on board with the reaction their fans had to their games.
Nothing like trying too hard to make a great joke :troll:.

That's true, I suppose.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was more than we expected, but at the same time, I think people shouldn't set their expectations too high. It's a packed roster as is, and we were told outright that DLC is limited.

Why would it be Smash?

We were told there was still games to be shown off. It's something new, there's absolutely no chance of it being Smash related.
