What?! Isabelle is probably going to be super easy if anything. She's popular and pretty much a mascot for the series now.

What did he say?
Exactly the problem. Popular to many. As if amiibo werent already limited enough, now we have to get her amiibo for Amiibo Festival, Happy Home Designer and Mario Maker.

She's the perfect target for scalpers. Especially ones like mariotehplumber. She might get a ton of figures printed, but demand equals scalpers? She's going to be hard to find.

Well, amiibo festival is also going to be packaged with 2 amiibo and 3 cards. That game is going to sell.

Sakurai's wording during the Roy and Lucas segment of the stream on Sunday makes me think veteran DLC is finished.
I think it's a bit premature to be saying this. It could hold some weight, but it could also just be poor phrasing. I find it hard to believe that he would casually deconfirm all of these popular requests like that.

I certainly think that if we're in for 2 more characters only, then (at least) 1 of them will be a veteran. Wolf has likely got so many votes that he could easily class him as a ballot character if he wanted.

To keep scalping down, Isabelle should just be a guaranteed one of those two.

Cards should be cheap, easy and small to mass produce. The figures are the opposite. I don't think we should worry about shortages of these cards, especially when Amiibos plays a huge role for the game.

With that said though...

I am confident she will have the most figures mass produced for the Animal Crossing line. I think she'd be at least slightly less than common at worst. Her only competition for mass produced figures would be Tom Nook and KK Slider.

In fact, she is the MAIN character of the game along with the fact she's right out in front in the boxart. If there will ever be any reason why she would be under-produced is if they decide to put cards on way more priority then it should.

My thing with the cards is. Are they going to operate like the Pokemon cards for that game?

Do they just have random characters in a pack? Because that's..that's going to be supremely greedy.

Especially if they make the more beloved characters rarer than common villagers, etc.
They will be random. They'll probably be cheaper. It's so you can trade with your friends! /s

Just press play, it'll go straight to it.
Btw, I mentioned this before but the translation holds up.

Here's a fun hypothetical for everyone.

We know we are getting 3 new N64 stages (well, two more as we already have Dream Land 64.)

If they were to take a similar path and do 3 stage DLC from both Brawl and Melee what stages would you want? Remember that the stages would be shared with both versions so overly complicated or large stages probably wouldn't work.
Melee: Fountain of Dreams, Fourside and Great Bay
Brawl: Pirate Ship, Spear Pillar and Shadow Moses (kinda had to reach for the last two)

Even then, its still going to be a tough find. I fear the day pre-orders for Chibi Robo Zip Lash open up.

Despite the so called mass production, she will run our extremely quickly. They always run out quickly, and shes just so popular I just cant even imagine seeing her amiibo in real life.

I think Shadow Moses would only return if Snake returns as well, though. That one is a real special case.

Any news of potential show floor or roundtable announcements?

I'm aware the statement isn't a disconfirmation and could very well mean nothing. It's mostly intuition on my part. Just a feeling.

Also, given that 3/4 of the current DLC characters are veterans, I don't see why both of the known remaining ones can't be newcomers.

Mario, Link, Pikachu, Sonic, Peach etc are pretty massively popular and look at where they stand.

I know I may be giving Nintendo TOO much credit, but I am sure that if Isabelle sells out, they will ship much more. Sonic was kind of in a position where he was almost rare at first, but quickly became common a few weeks later. She may not be Mario/Link/Pikachu levels of mass productions, but I cannot imagine her being actually rare.

Concerning Miiverse stage:
Huh, that's weird. My friend said he had trouble playing it sometimes too. It seems like it randomly won't let you play it. I've had it happen twice.

When did wave 4 come out? It was like 2 weeks ago and I still cant seem to find any of their amiibos. The amiibo you listed are wave 1, extremely common and theyve had their time on the shelves. Even today, its still really difficult to find wave 2 amiibos, and those that arent as popular as Mario, such as Fox, Little Mac and Wii Fit Trainer. Say what you will, but if Smash Wave 2-4 is any indication, most of these amiibo are still going to be very difficult to find.

So Smash 4 in total, assuming only two more dlc characters will have

55 characters (57 if mii fighters are counted seperatly)

Pretty impressive I'd say.

This game is just...bizarre.

The moment they called it a JPOP RPG I uhh....scratched my head.

I dunno, I think considering 3/4 of the current DLC are veterans, I look at it as a trend that would be more likely to continue than to be the complete opposite of that.

Also as things stand right this minute, I almost can't see a newcomer that isn't a DK character, be it Dixie because Sakurai would rather have her, or K. Rool based solely on the ballot (he's probably going to 'win').

The Inklings are seemingly a no-go
Golden Sun is deader than the Dodo
Chances aren't so hot for Chibi Robo

hah (that started out completely unintentional).

That seems... lackluster... that means we get one more vet and only 1 ballot character?

Lacklustre? Well not really. Imagine if they whipped out Wolf and K. Rool as the last two characters. Both are supremely popular, and considering we already got Ryu and 3 veterans that in one way or another extremely requested it wouldn't be lacklustre at all. It's plausible IMO, and has the surprise factor for sure with K. Rool because he's something of a pipe dream to many.

The whole Jpop/idol and cliche fanservice is what turned me away from the game.

The game itself outside of that looks kinda interesting, reminds me of Persona, but the tone of the game is still kinda weird.

I'm not too sad about Metroid, the game looks and is fun according to a lot of people at their booth, the freaking tease with Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival was what got me though.

I mean I like the focus on creative arts personally and that element, because it's part of me myself.

But in a crossover RPG it seems weird?
