It's pretty bad when the biggest announcement this E3 has been a bloody remake, definitely not an E3 to remember so far. Could have been Fallout 4 which would have been cool, but Bethesda apparently couldn't wait just a few days.

I hope that the new Zelda 3DS game has online co-op. And maybe a Four Swords type side game....

Probably asking for too much but hey....

Nothing technically wrong with the event and Star Fox looks incredible but there were so many "hit and miss" games. 3DS Metroid... team shooter. Animal Crossing WiiU... Party Game...

Not Nintendo's worst but not their best.

Nintendo event was alright. In terms of presentation they get an A- and in terms of the actual games they get a C-. But in terms of hoe time was distributed between games they get an F+.

Like Metroid Blast Ball and Animal Crossing Party? :ohwell:
Frankly I've never played Animal Crossing so I don't care, there was a 3DS one announced too, as well as Amiibo for AC fans. Metroid looked alright but I'm not a huge fan of that either.

Quite funny that people are ******** about all this cool stuff just because some of it was leaked beforehand and didn't seem fresh.

I like the concept actually, especially if they take the approach where you see the Prime games through the GF's eyes.

Maybe Samus is this cool hero that you all want a fleeting glimpse of or something.

This game has potential, but it could also flop the hardest.

Depends on the plot.
I'd be more compelled if this came alongside something else, or after we got a revival, but the last thing we got was Other M, five years ago, and it got very mixed fan reception. The last time we got a handheld Metroid was what, 2006? The treatment Metroid has been getting in recent years (read: pretty much no treatment at all) made me pretty much lose hope in the franchise, and they really should've built up to a spin-off that will likely contain no traditional Metroid elements, even if that was just with a Super Metroid remake on the 3DS or something.

It may offer something interesting plot-wise, but the big reasons I enjoy the Metroid series are the atmosphere (particularly the atmosphere created by isolation) and the collection of power ups and how that leads to exploration. Since this is the GF we're talking about, I don't see a lot of potential for power-ups, and since it's got co-op capabilities I'm betting isolation is a bust. It may appeal to other fans, but personally I don't even know if I'm going to get it, and this will be the first Metroid game I don't get.

He's counting Hyrule Warriors.
Oh, right. My bad, I forgot about that.

Star Fox was literally just Star Fox. Nothing that new. Gameplay looked meh.
I can agree with some of your points, but not this. Not even a little bit.

Star Fox has new vehicles, vehicles transformations, and Platinum is helping with it so you know it's going to be great.

Besides all that, though.... Star Fox has been trying to do something 'new' since Star Fox Adventure, and it hasn't worked out for the franchise. I am ECSTATIC that this game seems to be taking so many cues from Star Fox 64.

You know Scottish Duck.... Dude that's amazing :D
Heck yeah! He was one of my favorite lets players. The moment Shenmue 3 was announced, I immdeiately thought of him.

Anways, Nintendo's Digital Event was pretty good, but underwhelming, especially compared to last year's.
Star Fox looks hype (and developed by Platinum Games, too!)
Yarn Yoshi looks good
Super Mario Maker looks great.
Combining both the Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi games is also amazing.
Other than that, not much that interests me.

I loved the Muppet versions of Reggie, Iwata, and Miyamoto.

Look Retro still has their game to show even if it's more Dong, I'll take that then what the hell that was the direct plus we haven't gotten anything interesting from this aside from games we already know (Star Fox, Hyrule Warriors 3DS, FE Fates, Xenoblade X and Weeaboo Simulator) and Paper Mario & Luigi

I mean for God sakes the Animal Crossing Party legit angered me and I'm not a fan of the series. Hell, no Splatoon and Mario Kart DLC was the worst of it all not no Metroid, F-Zero or Mother 3.

Screw it, gonna take my anger out on :4darkpit: practicing on combos with :4wiifit:&:4ryu:

That... was pretty bad. They basically just showed us a bunch of stuff we already knew about and a few new spin-off games. New Star Fox was cool to get a look at, but we don't need new trailers for things like Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario Maker or Yoshi's Woolly World when they don't announce anything new about those games, it's just filler content that'd fit better in a regular Direct. Also, how about you revive Metroid first before you make spin-offs and treat it like an established franchise? That Federation thing was nothing but a slap in the face. What a shame given how good the past two E3 events were, this wasn't even as good as some of the regular Directs we've gotten.

The most hype announcements this E3 came with the new Smash content and Earthbound Beginnings, both which were outside the Digital Event. Shameful.
It's sad but true. I wasted 50 minutes of my life hoping for something good outside of Star Fox (great to see Platinum Games is developing it) and I was bitterly disappointed. I think I am done with the Wii U games chronologically speaking after 2015. Only upcoming games for me are Star Fox, Yoshi's Wooly World, and maybe Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Let's hope Nintendo told all their developers to move the big games from the Wii U to the NX.

(Mario & Luigi Paper Jam Bros looks great, however)

Metroid fans should consider themselves lucky, at least they actually make Metroid games.

Personally, I don't mind the Metroid spinoff. Granted, I would've preferred a new game with Samus as well, especially on the Wii U, but the idea of focusing on other characters in that universe is a nice idea if it's done well. Metroid has the potential to do a lot with its universe and we've seen that through Samus' view, this could be a chance to expand on that universe and really make it alive. We could see the many different races, give time to other threats that the GF deals with, or hell, give us a insider's view on what's going on in that organization that's causing the corruption seen in Fusion. There's a lot they can do, and if they do it well, it could be a great game.

Of course, that depends on how good it is, it has a lot of potential, I just hope they reach it.

I'm sorry, you're right Tenis, Animal Party and Metriod Striker is the future :)
?

I literally said nothing about those games in that post. Or, you know, anything about any games.

If it wasn't for some of the leaks, then Nintendo's E3 presentation would have been much more hype. You guys are disappointed because we got spoiled and knew about stuff ahead of time. Hyrule Warriors 3DS would have been incredible. Triforce Heroes alone looks great. If we didn't know about Roy/Ryu being released along with Lucas, it would've been more hype too (sorry). Wii U platform is lackluster, but I have a feeling NX will replace it in the very near future. I wouldnt be surprised if Zelda Wii U will be released on NX and Wii U at the same time.

I will be honestly surprised if the NX replaces Wii U.
If anything it seems like it will be a third pillar, unless it becomes the new handheld, aka the 3DS successor.

I really liked both sony's and microsoft's e3. They had some pretty good announcements(Backwards ****ing compatibility for xbox, halo 24 player coop, new gears of war, hololens + valve partnership, shenmue3,ff7,and last guardian for sony.) So I was like,"Hey,if both Sony and Microsoft did really well this year, then imagine how well Nintendo is gonna kick ass this year!"
Last e3 was kick ass, so one would assume from that point on that every e3 will be just as great, right? Well, now I know never to get my hopes up for anything Nintendo that doesn't have the word "Smash" in it. I mean, it's great for those of you who are 3ds owners, but for me, it was awful. I own only a wii u, and it has so much potential. It could have been more, but it wasn't. Damn shame this e3, real damn shame.

I am really considering selling my wii u right now, but what's stopping me from going and putting a listing up on ebay is the fact that I'm enjoying smash very much.

It's two things. First up are the leaks. Next is that fact that Nintendo are sticking to games that are releasing soon. That was...an odd choice. They obviously could have thrown a few trailers our way, but they instead decided to talk about a Yoshi game that already released in one region for 10 minutes.

We KNOW Nintendo has several studios that are working on unknown games as they are unaccounted for. A 30 second teaser for something Retro is working on, for example, would have been hype.

It's like Nintendo really forgot how to E3.

I think "it actually resembles a Metroid game in more than title" is kind of an important, unspoken piece of wishing for a new game in the franchise. If you're happy with E3 and all that's great; that in no way affects how much I am allowed to be upset because my favorite franchise has received what is likely to be garbage. Again.

Like, this is an important message in general. You being okay with something / being upset because your fav didn't get a show at E3 in no way affects how other people should feel about things.

I hope star fox is the Wii U's final bang just like skyward sword was. If the NX is coming soon it would explain the lack of main titles.

Metroid blast doesnt look like it will have exploration. at least no morph ball. Kind of defeats a bit of the purpose

Trust me, I was very hype over the Smash direct, despite the spoilage. The only other thing that got spoiled was the amiibos for 8-bit Mario and Animal Crossing.

The Animal Crossing amiibos work with a AC Party game. Seriously the only big things we got for the Wii U were ones we already knew about.

The Hyrule Warriors port would be super exciting to me if I didn't have to wait up to 9 months to play it. It's a port..

Whether or not it was all they announced, Nintendo will be judged this year primarily on this presentation, and they simply didn't deliver.

Here's a thought. We have no idea of what the Smash Team is doing. Are they taking a break or are they hard at work on the next characters?

I don't want any new Metroid characters in Smash.

As I said before, it's unlikely this has anything to do with the actual Prime series and it's far more likely that it was put on there for brand name recognition because of how wildly successful the Prime series was.

Please do not try to "give me a reason to be happy." This isn't good news for me, I'm not going to be happy about this announcement unless I see something that disproves my initial impressions. I am not looking for somebody to try and force me to be happy just because they think I should be.

You're right, would you please enlighten me what was the meaning of the first post, I don't get it then :)
I was just joking around, since I've never seen you post in here and you were not part of the old leak group. We are a pretty close knit community and you are a new face so I was just having some fun.

It's always nice to have more people posting in here, though, so welcome!
