It wasn't bad, just underwhelming, especially compared to Sony.

-Star Fox is pretty nice.
-The one Zelda game looked rather interesting.
-Hyrule Warriors could've been a lot more hype had it not been leaked accidentally.
-Fire Emblem with English voices. Not bad.
-There's your Fire Emblem in SMT X FE.
-Mario & Luigi/Paper Mario crossover. Very cool to see.
-Mario Maker and Amiibo use looked pretty cool.
-Mario Tennis looked rather interesting.
-Despite it being a spin-off, the Metroid game looks like it has potential.
-And the Muppets were a nice touch.

That being said, they really talked too much about Yoshi's Wooly World. Didn't mind so much the Mario talk, but what was up with the Wooly World talk?

It started off Hillarious. but there was more time talking about yarn yoshi and how ideas than actual games.

I wanted a GF metroid game so thats cool. But it only got about 3 seconda of gameplay. Star fox looks really cool. Mario and luigi+paper mario looks graet too

but thats IT. Im dissapointed TBH

And where the hell was Retro.

How do they think that would satisfy our Metroid fix. They shouldn't have ever even shown us Blast Ball if that's how ****ty the game will end up being.

They screwed over the fans with the stupid Animal Crossing Party ****.

Spent 3-4 minutes on some Japanese thing no one is gonna buy here.

Star Fox was literally just Star Fox. Nothing that new. Gameplay looked meh.

Zelda was literally just ALBW with Multiplayer.

Another Mario Tennis?!?! Where is Mario Strikers?!

The only thing good to come out of this was Paper Mario/Mario and Luigi.

There is no way to make this seem good. This was the worst "conference" by a long shot.

I think what killed the Direct for me was the fact that they spent so much time on 3 games we already knew a lot about.

Like Yoshi's Wooly World comes out in Europe this month. Why are you taking 10 minutes to discuss it?

I think the best way to describe this is that it was a great Direct, but an ok Digital Event.

Man, that direct was extremely disappointing. Only thing that really made me gasp in excitement was was the Mario and Luigi / Paper Mario cross over.

They pushed Mario Maker as their biggest game when they should've been pushing Star Fox, and that doesn't cut it. I don't care about Mario's 30th anniversary, they celebrated the 25th.

They gave us a release date for Xenoblade but that was basically it. Where is detail for the story? We've never gotten it ever. The game came out over a month ago in Japan.

Why didn't we get a release date for Fire Emblem? Not even a release window. The game comes out in TEN DAYS in Japan. Where was the developer background behind that?

The new Zelda game on the 3DS is cool, but now there are FIVE Zelda games on the 3DS. Hyrule Warriors, a port, isn't coming out until Q1 next year?

Their existing Wii U games were the ones they were pushing, but Star Fox is the only one we got really anything new about. We've known about Wooley World for a loooong time now. Where are the new games? No one gets excited about Mario sports games.

We got Metroid Prime back finally, but for the 3DS? What? Where is Wii U Metroid?

Where were the Virtual Console games?

These two gifs accurately describe me right now after that Nintendo Digital Presentation:

God awful for the most part, the only highlights (being amazing or just cool) were Xenoblade Chronicles X (which we already knew about), Starfox U (which we already knew about), Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam (I'll take it after the direction Paper Mario was going...Sticker Star ugh...) and the whole charity thing (that right there, best part of this whole presentation).

That... was pretty bad. They basically just showed us a bunch of stuff we already knew about and a few new spin-off games. New Star Fox was cool to get a look at, but we don't need new trailers for things like Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario Maker or Yoshi's Woolly World when they don't announce anything new about those games, it's just filler content that'd fit better in a regular Direct. Also, how about you revive Metroid first before you make spin-offs and treat it like an established franchise? That Federation thing was nothing but a slap in the face. What a shame given how good the past two E3 events were, this wasn't even as good as some of the regular Directs we've gotten.

The most hype announcements this E3 came with the new Smash content and Earthbound Beginnings, both which were outside the Digital Event. Shameful.

They could have won E3 if the announcements weren't strange kooky spin-offs and main line games in those series instead.

Star Fox was the only thing that wasn't some sort of spin-off and they started with it.

Pretty much my feelings, except for the fact that I love 4 Swords so the new Zelda is super hype for me.

Kind of warming up to Animal Crossing Party, lol.

Considering all those games look like must-buys and Microsoft and Sony showed between them 3 interesting games (1 of which was a Kickstarter, and another was a mashup of old games), I'd say it's not blind fanboyism.
Umm. I am a little lost for words right now.

I'm not even gonna begin to argue here. If you actually think that between Sony and MS they showed only 3 interesting games... then I don't even know what to say to you.

Just... wow. I'm sorry.

Had this been an October direct or something, this wouldn't have been bad, but for an E3, it was pretty abysmal. Way too much filler.

I am excited about M&L: Paper Jam, though. Although it goes to show the length they'll go to avoid a true sequel to PM/TTYD.

No F-Zero announcement for its 25th....

Please, let me mourn. It was the perfect opportunity and they indeed passed it up. Why did I ever have any hope...:crying:
Hold on, I just realized. F-Zero's ACTUAL 25th anniversary is in August so...maybe an announcement then...it just HAS to happen in August! Hope still lives!

Microsoft's "Recore" looked really good as well.

It said from the creators of Metroid Prime. We didn't see any Retro at Nintendo even though they said they would be at E3?

Is retro working with Microsoft?

What can I say. I don't look forward to mediocre ****, so it takes something that's actually special to make me excited for something.

I'm far beyond wanting to put my time into playing video games unless they're ridiculously fun.

That Metroid game is anti-hype. No Samus, no ****s.

Star Fox Zero and Paper Jam are good looking. Can't wait.

But I think Bethesda and Sony have won this so far.

As someone who could care less for Final Fantasy 7 or Shenmue, this E3 was pretty 'meh' over all.

The new Doom was pretty cool, I guess.

Star Fox Zero certainly looks really fun, but I wasn't really excited by anything else. The new Metroid just seems like Prime with a different skin. Much better than nothing, at least they're doing something with the franchise, but I definitely would have preferred something new. There were some other cool games, but nothing I'm particularly excited about.

As far as Wii U goes, not many games, and only one or two major ones. It really feels like they plan on releasing the NX next year, with Zelda U as a launch title. I really hope that this is not the case, there's still plenty of potential there, but Nintendo has been so good with releasing tons of great games recently, and this holiday just seems so bare in comparison.

Yeah, Halo 5 and Star Fox are really the only games that I care too much about. Metroid looks cool, but it's not really hype-worthy.

Wait, what's the fifth? There's OoT3D, MM3D, ALBW, and then this makes four.

Tbh the "Metroid Prime" announcement ruined E3 for me. Metroid's my favorite franchise, and they showed nothing with that game that has me convinced it's Metroid in anything more than title.

Which actually brings me to another point, which is...the "Prime" trilogy is over? Hunters was sort of a spin-off in the middle so it's whatever, but the reason for entitling it "Metroid Prime" is because it was all about Metroid Prime (who then transformed into Dark Samus), and it's dead and all the Phazon is gone? It seems like they just slapped that on for brand recognition. (Edit: Unless, I suppose, it deals with the GF's involvement in that period. Metroid hasn't been played out linearly. But I sort of doubt that will happen.)

That wouldn't be a big deal in and of itself, just a minor annoyance. But we saw no Samus, and she is Metroid. And if Other M and Fusion have shown us anything by now, it's that the Galactic Federation is a bunch of *****. I have no desire to play as their footsoldiers. Like, honestly, I would've preferred no Metroid announcement at all. I may be overreacting, maybe it'll be more Metroid-like than it looks, but for now I'm extremely disappointed. I don't play Metroid games because I like shooters, and that's all this game looks like.

Nothing else really hyped me either, though Star Fox Zero definitely looks cool.
I like the concept actually, especially if they take the approach where you see the Prime games through the GF's eyes.

Maybe Samus is this cool hero that you all want a fleeting glimpse of or something.

This game has potential, but it could also flop the hardest.

Depends on the plot.

Quick and dirty thoughts on the Direct
  • Star Fox Zero seems to be a soft reboot and that's for the best really. Game looks amazing too.
  • M&L Paper Jam looks amazing honestly
  • Triforce Heroes looks fun, but not my thing
  • Same goes for AC
  • SMT X FE looks like weeb trash in all honesty.
  • Metroid Prime 3DS looks like those fake games you'd see on tv shows
Overall it was really underwhelming, especially for the Wii U.

Hyrule Warriors?

Also, FE X SMT does not appeal to me at all. I was hoping after the initial tease it would be more Fire Emblem like.
