If they were gonna announce something else, I think they'd have done it today. I mean, it's possible, but I don't think it's a very likely possibility at all.

The whole "They'll announce Wolf along with Star Fox U!", "They'll announce Wonder Red along with The Wonderful 102!" batch of theories aren't as solid as people seem to think.

I'm pretty sure Mario Kart 8 DLC is finished.
Any official confirmation or is this your thoughts?

I may be crazy, but I will not give up hope that there'll be some sort of tease for Wolf in smash this week.

Another reason is the sheer quantity of DLC for MK8 that exists already.

Keep in mind that if we were to see two more packs the size of the Animal Crossing and Zelda ones, we'd have as many downloadable tracks as there are tracks from the base game.

It just seems like too much to me.

I don't think so.

This was the Smash portion of Nintendo's E3.

The Digital Event will be for everything else.
They made it pretty clear that this would just be talking about the content in today's update before it dropped. They only mentioned the other two stages because they're relatively small things and were related to Dreamland. We could easily see another character or two at the actual E3 presentation.

Why does the Nintendo E3 digital event have to be so far away? :( :ohwell:
We have only one day to wait.
And that is one day to wait.

Also, I know you guys knew about this already, but I just learned:
FreakyForms music is in the Miiverse stage. That makes me happy on a spiritual level.

I think the one thing im not a fan of with the smash DLC is the price

Its a little expensive, especially compared to the MK8 DLC witch was really good priced
Yeah, but were suckers for Smash DLC and will buy it at any cost. I wanna say Smash takes more development than Mario Kart, but Im sure thats entirely true.

So I guess tourney mode and Amiibo were relatively small things as well.

I still think we could see Wolf or someone else announced at the digital event. Announce him now, for a release in August, similar to how they announced Lucas. We've only had DLC for this game for two months and already we have four characters and three stages, with two more stages on the way. And they even took the time to Luigify Roy. I think it's a fair bet that there is more DLC in the pipeline than we originally counted on.

except I imagine they also started with those 3 around the time they did mewtwo. who knows what schedule they're working on.

What I wonder is also how long they'll keep making them too.

I'm pretty sure the reason why they decide to have a separate event for Smash was to give space to other titles at the actual event.

Compared to a new character? Definitely.

We know that there are two more characters coming, most likely this year considering how many characters they've finished already. If they're not announced on Tuesday they'll definitely be announced in the next major Direct. Why wait?

Still, that's four characters, including two that had to be built completely from scratch, since October. It would definitely be odd(and infuriating) to leave Wolf hanging when the likes of Roy and Lucas are being resurrected.

YES THE ROSTER IS AS SUCH CALLED IT:
:4pacman::4megaman::4sonic::4mewtwo::4lucas::4feroy::4ryu:
YIPEEE!!!
Two of my mains below. :4lucas::4megaman:. Only :4ness: remains a row ahead.

I like this.
To be honest I think people are looking a bit too much into that thing Sakurai said about Roy and Lucas.

I can't see that when the ballot is a thing he would deconfirm 7 characters casually like that. It wouldn't gain him anything.
I still am 99% certain Wolf is returning and I will bet my good reputation on it. This is coming from someone who isn't attached to Wolf as a character.
So, the Mewtwo leak had spots for 7 stages in the code. Suzaku Castle, Dreamland 64, Mario's 64 stage and Hyrule Castle 64 will take 4 of them... What could the last 3 be?
I think we could see a new Star Fox stage to accommodate Wolf's return as well as the stage of the ballot winner. Not sure what the third one would be unless we get more than six characters and we get a new series character in.
Well, considering that Roy and Ryu released today, the two extra character slots found in the data, and that we still have until October before the ballot ends, I'm going to bet on 2 more characters being announced on Tuesday.

Most likely Wolf and a newcomer. Which will be interesting, first time we'll be surprised by a newcomer announcement for a while.
I don't see us getting anything Smash-related on Tuesday but I would be pleasantly surprised otherwise.
I seen him online.
He's gorgeous.
:4ness::4lucas:
I don't think anyone can deny their beauty. Dat hat and dat hair.
mother 1 confirmed
Nintendo wins E3 confirmed.

Words cannot describe how elated I am about this announcement.
On a completely unrelated topic..

Do you guys think if we get a DLC character that is from a series that doesn't already have a stage in the game, like, say Inklings, that they'll come pre-packaged with a stage? Ryu did, but he's a guest character.
I am thinking we'll see a new stage come packed with a newcomer from a series without it so yeah.
He also said no Paid DLC.:4mewtwo::4lucas::4feroy::4ryu:-:denzel:
And one 3rd party rep per company.:4megaman::4ryu:-:yeahboi:
And No Fighting game characters.:4ryu:-:gova:
Sakurai never said any of these things, these are misinterpretations or fan-made rules before they were broken.

This gif amuses me ever so.
Oh god this is so funny.

Two stages, more Tournament Mode details (including a release timeframe), the new replay system....

There was plenty of stuff shown off that's not part of today's update. You can't just say "That doesn't count!" because you've deemed it minor. Fact is, they showed off stuff that has nothing to do with the Lucas/Roy/Ryu update, so your point is moot.

"Odd and infuriating" =/= impossible. There's been plenty of decisions in Smash 4 and every other game in the series that could be called "odd and infuriating". They still happened.

If Wolf were being developed alongside those characters, we more than likely would've seen traces of him alongside them in the same 3DS update Roy and Ryu were first discovered through back in April.

Probably the August patch. The August patch will most likely be the next big content update. What with Tournament mode and 2(?) new stages.

I think it's possible we will also get a character in August. Might drop exactly like they planned for Ryu/Roy (unexpected). I think it's possible one character might be announced at the Digital Event, but probably not very likely. We'll hear about them in July (NOT AT THE FIRE EMBLEM CONCERT) or early August.

Smash for 3DS/Wii U has been in continuous development for a long time now. I wonder when they will finally close shop and Sakurai can finally move onto a new project.

I dont think they've been focusing on stages, since they know people just want characters (Sakurai has said this somewhere). I can definitely see two characters being added.

Btw, do replays still work, or are they okay? Has the balance been changed at all, or is it placebo effect? I'm just getting accumulated with everything I missed.

I would actually like to see Hyrule Castle on 3DS, no matter how small the characters would look like there.
Also Dream Land looks cool.

This does make me wonder why Sakurai is listed as a special guest for the concert.

And yes, there were plenty of balance changes, so replays are dead.

Yeah, I know I forgot about those when I was writing that.

I'm not saying that we'll definitely get another character announcement, but I think it's pretty likely. There are more characters on the way, and I'm willing to bet that they're dropping before the ballot characters (most likely this year). E3 is usually where they announce such things. If we don't get an announcement on Tuesday, we'll get one in the next major Direct.

And yes, there were plenty of balance changes.
Because he likes Fire Emblem, and he's a huge music buff. He's basically responsible for saving the series, and bringing it to the International Stage. He's also been deeply involved with PRESS START, a video game music event. There's no conspiracy, there will most likely not be an announcement. Do not pass go. Do not buy Roy.

(just kidding, buy Roy).

On balance:
Okay, that means that Roy, Ryu and Lucas were not completely finished when Mewtwo was released.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking, too. We already know there's plenty more stuff on the way. The two N64 stages look just about done. Like I said earlier, I think the stages (alongside a third wave of Mii Fighter suits including the KK Slider one) could drop in August with the Tournament update. It's not unreasonable to think a character could be in the works for that update as well.

As for the part about the concert.....considering that Roy's been revealed and released, I'd like to think that anyone who believed we'd get Smash info at the Fire Emblem concert have moved on.

Unless they think we're gonna get a sixth Fire Emblem character. Which I'm hoping is not the case, because it's the last series that needs more playable character representation at this point.

Keep in mind I never thought there would be a reveal at the FE concert. I was just unsure why they would announce that he was going to be there two months in advance.

They announced other game directors and designers. Last time I checked (a month ago), they were even still keeping some of the guests secret. Sakurai was only hyped by the Smash community.

Oh god, I hope so. I've seen so many conspiracy theories in the last week that it makes my head hurt.

Here's some that I've seen:

Nintendo released the patch early so they could hype the release!

RandomTalkingBush or crediar are in cahoots with Nintendo

Roy would be announced at a FE concert in Japan

Ryu and Roy wouldn't be released right away even though they were finished.

Sakurai will cancel the update because of datamining. (I think some of these posters were serious)

Some guy on reddit tried telling me that RTB and crediar datamined the update directly from the Wii U. When I tried explaining it to him, he just linked me to the Smash Wiki and said I was wrong. I just gave up arguing with him at that point.

I don't think that one was really farfetched. Spacing releases out helps keep interest and hype up.

Unless you specifically mean they'd be held off because of the leak. If then, yeah, that's pretty stupid.

Did anyone watch Money in The Bank WWE? It ****ing sucked!
It was so badly done... Owens lost, New Day lost, Paige lost, Ambrose lost... how do you even make such horrible decisions creative-wise? All those wrestlers had incredible momentum behind them only to be reduced to 0. And I don't even want to mention Cena's many botches...

On another note, haven't watched the NWC yet, is it worth sitting through the 4 hours?
