How would you taunt in mid-air?It would have been better if you used a taunt to change pokemon.
From what I saw, Ivysaur was the KO machine and Charizard the revovery machnie or the machine you're forced to play after KO but then switch out from. The only thing that's missing from their kit, imo, is the ability to swap out in reverse order. Squirtle seems built to build damage and Zard is the KO machine, but you've still got to swap to Ivy in between.
It wouldn’t be an actual taunt, it would have just replaced it.How would you taunt in mid-air?
I guess. But like it's pretty instant as it is, and like you can go from Zard > Squirtle. The only thing that's missing from their kit, imo, is the ability to swap out in reverse order. Squirtle seems built to build damage and Zard is the KO machine, but you've still got to swap to Ivy in between.
That works too.Maybe a Taunt Button and Shield could've worked well. That way Taunts are there, but this is an extra command. We already learned Inklings have unique moves that aren't the regular set of "everybody has these" moves. Ryu already had his own unique commands based upon his home series. Seems like it would work well.
You could cycle through based upon the buttons too. D-Pad Left and D-Pad Right only. This way, it's kept streamlined and simple. It'll go to the next in whatever order it is. Left goes back, Right goes forward in the cycle. That works too.
Mayb better than my idea.

Having only 3 specials didn't hinder Sheik in Melee. Maybe it won't be an issue this time aroundMaybe doing Block+B like Inkling would be the best option then.
Only because Charizard is back to only 3 specials of his own. At least switching is fast as hell now.
Correction.Having only 3 specials didn't hinder Sheik in Melee. Maybe it won't be an issue this time around
It's less that Ivy won't be any good (I don't get that impression at all), it's that the switching combos are intentionally limited by the set changing order. You can't do a Squritle to Zard setup because you have to step over Ivy to get there. Or, since Squirtle is the lightest character, you'll probably get knocked the furthest with him. You might want to quickly get over to Zard for better recovery, but again, you have to step over Ivy to do it.I guess. But like it's pretty instant as it is, and like you can go from Zard > Squirtle.
And also maybe Ivysaur won't be as bad this time around to be swapped over?
Like come on Buh does their best. They try hard
without its weakness to fire, it's at least guaranteed to be a lot better.I guess. But like it's pretty instant as it is, and like you can go from Zard > Squirtle.

Well that's exactly the reason why Type Effectiveness is a horrible gimmick, it's absolutely useless. No one (outside Pokemon Trainer) has grass moves, and the only water move you get is Fludd. It's barely a footnote for 2 out of the 3 Pokemon, and all it did was hinder an already large obstacle of a character, especially since a lot of fire moves also so happened to be Smash attacks and overall high damage/knockback moves.without its weakness to fire, it's at least guaranteed to be a lot better.
Can you imagine if Ivysaur was still weak to fire? I never really thought about is before, but fire is so common in Smash, even characters who shouldn't have it, have it.
The most you could ever get out of it was Trainer dittos, and good luck finding someone else who actually played the character.
Well **** me there we go.As a Pokemon Trainer main...

I don't see them either, the Ultimate page of the emotes is just blank, it's weird. And it isn't something from mobile, tried desktop and it doesn't show either.I can't see the new emotes for some reason, anyone have the same problem?
