Teen Titans Go! is a despicable, gross, uncreative, non-artistic, vile, teeth-gritting, bastardization of a beloved series that has destroyed the show's soul and replaced it with every abomination imaginable with every single 24 minute taping that exists of it.

Time travel is needed just because this show exists so that we can prevent this plague to ever disgrace the last remaining quality of the air we breathe.

I don't get the TTG hate
It's not like they could continue the original anyways
I kinda like it, it's not something I'm gonna look up to watch it but I can enjoy it if it's on TV
It's no Uncle Grandpa *shrugs*

In some circles this is a compliment.

Was definitely dissapointing to see after how amazing the original was.

Cyborg going past his limits is one of my fondest cartoon memories

Y'know, when people usually say this about a reboot or smth, I always think and say they're exaggerating.

This is not one of those times.

I love how people only remember that scene. That's kinda sad

From what I've seen of the show, it's a fun romp.
It's sad... and funny! But still sad... in a funny way! But yeah, it's sad

They actually could continue the show, the reason for it's cancellation was never mentioned. Cartoon Network cancelled Samurai Jack and Teen Titans when they were hit shows and their ratings were high. It had nothing to do with how good they were doing, it's just something CN tends to do with series. They always cancel them for unknown reasons.

And the hate comes from the fact that they took a show with story and great characters and character progression, a show that was cancelled mind you, got the original voice actors and used a somewhat similar artstyle just so they could profit off the lulzrandomhumor cartoon trope that's been going on the past few years. If they wanted to make something like this do it with original characters, taking a unfinished series and bastardizing it really is not cool to the fans of it.

They cancelled Young Justice because the main audience wasn't what they wanted, they wanted to have little boys so they could sell action figures but apparently most of the fanbase were grown women. Reverse brony funny enough

Could it be that the new higher ups don't want to show us the upcoming games via Directs like Iwata did?
They're still going to be doing that sort of approach AFAIK. This is just a hiatus while they deal with lots of management shifts, I imagine.

The direction they took with Teen Titans Go was... very weird. I can't honestly get into the show. Even on its own, the characters are just really annoying and unfunny. I think what ultimately made me dislike the show and the creators was how they responded to the criticism with a certain episode about Slade. I think @Swampasaur had linked a video ranting about the episode. It was pretty bad.

I knew of the show's existence but never watched it, the only concrete thing I know on it was that scene as it became so controversial.

That episode made me go from 'TTG? Meh' to 'TTG? KILL THAT BLASPHEMY!' It does what it wants to do well at times, fails on other times and can be in between. No excuse for the Slade episode ESPECIALLY as people legitimately were curious how Slade would be portrayed

I never implied it wasn't doing good
Also, I'm pretty sure the writers are not the same(correct me if I'm wrong) so it just wouldn't be possible
And the artstyle is not even similar

So I'm not alone in that confusion

Young Justice was great
I never knew about Aqualad(except the TT one but... eh...) and it made me question how they made a good Not!Aquaman but couldn't even get Aquaman right

The humor of the series may be **** but I don't think it even hurts the original series at all.

  1. It's non canon and connected stories
  2. It's harmless to the regular series

The cancellation hurts but most of the stories got tied up. Unless you want another 'Slade/Deathstroke is evil, go stop him'

The Brotherhood of Evil is pretty much wiped out by the other Titans

The Hive pretty much deteriorated into 6 members with one deflecting

Small subplots like Raven's story with her father, Beast Boy being the main hero, Robin and Starfire's relationship and Cyborg with his own Teen Titans team.

What's left to do considering they miss other important Titans who should have been on the main team like Speedy, Aqua Lad, Kid Flash, Superboy and Donna Troy (Wondergirl).

If anything, Young Justice should have fixed the taste but that got cancelled as well.

It got cancelled but it's not something that desperately needs reviving. Trust me, as a fan of Xiaolin Showdown, nothing needs a revival unless it's worth it.

That was an entertaining show as well. I miss how most old cartoons from my childhood were full of clean humor and morals, while only a few that focused on childish humor, toilet humor( both are fine in small amounts) and/or were legit dirty: Ren and Stimpy, Stripperella, Beavis and Butthead, etc.

The opposite seems true now. Too many punchlines and not enough story lines...meaningful ones anyway.

The episode "Return of Slade" was a lie, Slade himself did not appear at all. Then the episode involves a clown that is suppose to represent "shows you grew up with" with a lot of "Hey this clown isn't as funny!! He was cool when I was a kid, what gives?!". The episode later had the clown becoming all gritty, evil and "badass"... Which had nothing to do with what the fans criticized Go for.

A lot of false equivalency basically. Pretty much ****ting on the fans for wanting the old Teen Titans. It was pretty stupid.

As for the writers, I'm not sure if "developers" count as writers but according to wikipedia, they're not the same people that worked on the original show.

I saw it as a kid/pre-teen/teen (I don't remember which). I didnt religiously watch it, but I saw an episode or two. Late night TV at grandmas house back when standard cable was much more lax after midnight....

Heck, comedy central used to air GGW commercials...

The one thing I will give TTG is that they brought back the great VAs (Booyah!) and they had a ducktales reference.

Young Justice was the absolute ****. It was so amazing and I loved it so much. I was furious when I learned it was cancelled.

That was one of the only major things TT Go did to piss me off. I understand it has outside 4th Wall references but goddamn don't insult fans of the older series.

TT never too shots at the DCAU at all but easily co-existed with it.

It does for the fact that they are using themeing and designs from the a series that was cancelled. That would be like cancelling One Piece at it's current point right now, then years later creating One Piece Go or what have you, and using those same characters and same style, but chibified and make all their seriousness into sillyness. I mean they even use "Go!" which is like the theme song to the original series. It's also essentially in the same universe despite being non-canon, it's still ridiculous they decided to do this with it when they could have easily done something else. You may disagree, but I really do not agree with their choice here.

Slade wasn't ever revealed on who he actually was, there were many things left untied in the series and they were mid-arc. There were also a lot of things left remaining on the characters undeveloped that were going be expressed in the future.

I also like this animated series of Teen Titans more than any other incarnation of "Teen Titans" as I feel it has the most character and stylization.

One thing I'll say about TTG: I like what they did with some of the characters. Keyword some. Raven was pretty deadpan iirc and the jokes involving her tended to work well, I saw a clip of her going to the dentist and it's pretty much one of the things I can complement. However, Cyborg's less serious, and while he was a bit of a goof, that's not what I remember. Beast Boy's been flanderized a bit too much, Starfire can't be done right(neither can Starfire in the comics amiright) and Robin's a dimwit. Terra's new personality made me think 'Why?' I liked Jinx though, she's apparently a fan favourite on the show. I'm curious how they'd do Slade should he ever appear though

Well it's just an artstyle. It very rarely affects the actual plot/characters. Avatar and Teen Titans are amazing howe. . .

You are officially on my "to-kill" list. unless you are talking about the most recent version I am very dissapointed in your opinion.
You don't have to kill me, I was talking about the newer iterations, the old show's great.

Here's a question I've been getting, "Why did you call Ninjago a not anime", good question, one I didn't know of any other bad not animes, and for another, it has similarities to anime, so, that's a thing. But I admit it, it's nowhere close to an anime, or even a not anime, and if anyone likes it, that's fine with me, but I have a question, WHY??? The characters are forgettable, there's plotholes, inconsistansies, and retcons galore, and the animation is not that good.

Stripperella? Time to do research
'In 2003, ex-stripper Janet Clover, a.k.a. "Jazz", a.k.a. "Stripperella", filed a lawsuit in the Daytona Beach, Florida circuit court against Viacom, Stan Lee, and Pamela Anderson, claiming she is Stripperella's true creator and Stan Lee stole her idea when she discussed it during a lap dance.' I don't even ****ing know
