Glad Ryo is in PXZ2. Still wish we could get Bayonetta and Vyse for Sega (maybe some Golden Axe love too). Still waiting for Gene and my boy Haggar for Capcom (I'd be cool with a Guy and Cody team up, but it ain't no replacement to Haggar). As for Namco... Give us some better Soul Calibur characters would ya?

So when does an indie company stop being an indie company?

When I did my Shovel Knight article I came across this interview of Sean Velasco from Yacht Club Games.

http://prankster101.com/articles/interview-sean-velasco-designer-director-shovel-knight/

He says the reason he and his team left Wayforward is because "WayForward it was a very large company so we wouldn’t always have the chance to work together on every project." The article also regards WayForward as the US equivalent of Treasure Games (Gunstar Heroes, Dynamite Heady, Sin and Punishment, Mischief Makers, etc.)

Now, Wayforward actually is a pretty prolific company. Their original titles (Mighty Series, Shantae, Sigma Star Saga) and work with established video game IPs (Double Dragon Neon, Duck Tales Remastered, BloodRayne: Betrayal, A Boy and his Blood) have usually been critical successes. They also do a lot of licensed games that are a bit more hit and miss (who doesn't love Smurfs 2, am I right?).

Here is a list of all Wayforward games:

https://wayforward.com/all-games-by-date/

They made 110 games since 1990. Now, I understand that they do not release physical game with out a publisher, but they have self published their digital titles.

At what point do we consider them a mid level studio?

indieness is subjective in a lot of ways really
i'd consider journey indie despite being published by sony
but i wouldn't consider double fine's games indie because of their size

I don't consider Wayforward indie at all. It's middle of the ground. It's just that people consider them indie because of Kickstarter.

I'm not kidding. I think this was the reason why people consider them indie.

Y'all One Piece fans are glad I didn't open up those spoilers. I would have had to track you all down and finish you off. I'm still catching up! I started watching/reading after Naruto ended because I needed something to look forward to from Jump (Bleach is boring now and I'm just reading to see how it ends). I'm trying to read at least 3 chapters a day and just finished chapter 609. For a brief reminder of what's happening where i am:
They're on Fishman Island. Sanji is dying from blood loss from seeing the mermaids, haven't seen Jimbei yet.
No spoilers please!!

I'm just taking a break guys. Personal issues is all.

I'll stil be around and I plan to return to modship one day but until then, I'll just coast it with you all.
But Swamp now you can't change your title since you're not a mod/premium.

The issue is is that, Indie is a poor term and we should probably find a new way to discern what it means. Indie is suppose to be "independent", but the way it's perceived now is "small time independent developer". So with Way Forward although they may be independent, they work with other companies and are a large corporation, yet, are still independent.

We need a new word for small time indies, as that's what apparently people think indie is these days.

Actually, former mods still have some mod perks, including user title changes.

I remember changing my user title as a former mod without being Premium.

I actually got Project X Zone 1 out of curiosity and actually recognized some of the characters, but this one is way more hype for me due to Chrom and Lucina's inclusion.

They've pulled some nice surprises with this sequel.

Speaking of Project X Zone 2, Metal Face from Xenoblade and the Risen zombies from Fire Emblem: Awakening are briefly seen in the opening. Same for M. Bison from Street Fighter. (Two villains voiced by Norio Wakamoto in the same game? Holy ****.)

Ever wanted to see Xenoblade and Fire Emblem: Awakening crossing over in anime form? Here you go.

Makes me wish that Risen and Mechon were included as Smash Run enemies.

Speaking of PXZ2, I'm hoping they put in Validar as a villain for Fire Emblem, especially if Metal Face is there. I think Grima might be a bit much since he dwarfs even Metal Face in size, and is basically canonically map sized. Plus Validar's got some interesting moves anyway, being a sorcerer and all.

Hopefully Shulk gets in on the fun, makes me wonder who'll be FE:A's rival unit.

Late again. Sorry, busy with Dungeon.
How do you feel about Yokai Watch at the moment? Are you worried about it dominating the world?
Absolutely not.

The mechanics of Yo-kai Watch are not compelling. The game is fun but so simple with such basic multiplayer. The show may take off, I would be surprised if not. However, with the game, I don't see it hitting Pokémon levels in the west, and Level 5 is Level 5ing the game like crazy. Merchandise sales for Yo-kai Watch in Japan are already a quarter of what they were last year. I don't see it as having staying power.

Do most antagonists play a big role in PXZ or do they just appear as one time bosses?

From what I heard, it's because they didn't meet the high demand that was given this summer, once they figure out to meet demand rightfully and other toymakers get the rights to the IP (which takes about 6 months from what I heard, I think they will be back in the game again.

FEA? Probably Gangrel, Aversa, Validar or maybe Grima (possessing you know who).

Shulk could be a solo unit (perhaps, joining at the same time as Fiora and KOS-MOS).

Do most antagonists play a big role in PXZ or do they just appear as one time bosses?
In the first game, plenty of the antagonists have recurring roles and you fight them multiple times.

It's very likely that Metal Face will appear several times before his definite defeat.

They appear multiple times but most aren't really "important" per say. They might aid the chosen OC Big Bad, or get a decent arc as leader of another Faction, but that's about it.

Real talk tho, if we can get Nintendo characters in PXZ, there's nothing stopping Atlus
I mean, Sega owns them now, doesn't it?

FEA? Probably Gangrel, Aversa, Validar or maybe Grima (possessing you know who).
I would say Robin is the one with the strongest connection to Validar and Aversa
Gangrel is the one who made it personal to Chrom
EDIT: fixed it

Hey Frostwraith Frostwraith , where'd that Risen/Metal Face screen come from? I assume the opening or some sort of trailer, so where can I see that?
