There are an absurd amount of parallels between the two series let alone the characters. And yes they are both made by Kamiya. Hell they even both use the same unite morph in W101

No, it's not the same thing.
This guy is a popular musician who basically said "if you vote for this character in this poll you've probably never heard of, I'll follow you! But only if you do it right now!"
With those other characters, I at least have faith most of them actually do want those characters. This guy got nearly (over?) 400 votes for her in that very small time frame.
I severely doubt even 10% of those people wanted Krystal. They just wanted that guy to follow them.
