PXZ2's opening and ending themes will be composed by Yuzo Koshiro. He's a well known VGM composer who worked on the Streets of Rage series, Smash Bros. Brawl and 3DS/Wii U, Kid Icarus: Uprising and the Etrian Odyssey series.

Also, the cut-in animations for the super moves and assists look so much better than the original game.

What Sakurai said was "manga/anime characters will not be included". Segata Sanshiro is not a manga/anime character. He's a Sega mascot that starred in commercials and later had a game of his own and made a few more appearances in other Sega games.

However, until Project X Zone 2, none of his appearances were on Nintendo consoles (aside from the brief cameo in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed), which went against the "must have appeared on a Nintendo system" rule.

Segata and R.O.B. are kind of similar in the sense they're owned by video game companies and, despite not being characters in games, are still heavily related to video games.

Segata is a character created for advertising a console, while R.O.B. is a console peripheral.

Hm.. I really liking the Solo Units added in PxZ2;.. but as the first the game, the actual playable roster is really disappointing; --The stupid "rule" they added to only have human-like characters is ruining everything. The best characters (and best known) from these companies are most anthropomorphic.. NxC have a slightly better cast for having Klonoa and Gantz among it.
Also, I hate what they do with Arthur in these games,.. ugh. X_X

As for the Layton voice actor thing. According to the guy who has been running the Professor Layton for Smash Twitter page. Layton's voice actor shared that he did a session for Layton for two different games. One may possibly be for Layton 7 the other one is unknown though. However, Professor Layton's voice actor himself apparently thinks and hopes that it may be intended for Smash 4 but he isn't sure. That's more or less what we know about in regards to that.....

Yeah, they apparently did a similar thing with Ryu's voice actor and Xander Mobus was assigned to announce a lot of characters. Even ones who didn't make it in. Its mainly done to prevent voice actors from spilling the beans in regards to what games they will be voicing for, or in Xander's case. Prevent them from fully knowing the whole character rosters in games like Smash.
