I knew the "major" update wasn't going to be major. They knew they had to get the ball rolling for their site, so when they do add new information, it's all organized into categories. Do you not remember the japanese Melee site? They updated it once every week (if I remember correctly) when it was nearing release.

I didn't know about this event, but surely we'll see new information later tonight or next week.

Yeah it's not what I wanted but I'm still satisfied because instead of some information every 6 months we will get new info almost every day. WOOHOO updates.

Sorry, Wii fans, but it looks like you'll have a to hold steady for a few days more for the majority of the Nintendo news, hands-on impressions and pictures of your executive crush of choice to surface.
So, pretty much, we can expect something to come by the end of the week.

You're probably the most immature *****er I've ever seen on these forums just because you couldn't get your cake and eat it too.

Go back to first grade if you want to whine about not having it your way.

Wow, you're cool. You call someone immature over the internet. XD Sorry I have an opinion. I just didn't consider what Nintendo did a "major" update. You'd think they'd give us something after six months. Sorry that I wanted some information. You obviously did too if you are here. And you are way more immature than I am for randomly flaming people. Calm down, buddy. It's just a friendly discussion. =P No need to take everything so seriously. There are more real life matters to get upset about.

/sigh, there's no point arguing over some useless tidbits and making accusations based on the vocabulary the other person used..

T_T, they do need to give us new information, we're so bored we're fighting amongst ourselves.

Awesome..They made us wait a week and then when there IS information, they put it under embargo so we have to wait longer. They really want us to suffer don't they...

I think they should look at their fans as pets that need to be fed every once and a while....

I suppose we really should've seen this coming though. This is Nintendo, and we love them to death, but they know how to make us squirm.

The new site looks good, and I like the blog format, hopefully Sakurai will keep good on the promise of "Updates daily on weekdays!" that was posted at the top lol.

Embargos suck. That is all.

Your analogy works. Because we, the pets, are going to be fed every weekday. So quit whining. :p

And, actually, quite a bit was released last night. The promise of daily updates would of been enough, but we also got all this stuff that's cool enough as is, and even better if you do a bit of thinking. Take the composers thing for example. That's awesome enough if you enjoy video game music at all, but if you think about it, if they're putting that much effort just into the music, what does that imply about the rest of the game?

I for one felt like Melee seemed very, very old after seeing last night's update.

I just wish that they would release the updates when WE are actually awake like they do with japan. And they promised the release of information already....A week ago. I will stop whining when I get at least one new character unveiled. That's all I wanted. The frickin roster. I honestly don't care about anything else. =P

I think that this update was a bit small but, if they're giving us info every weeday then I'm pretty sure we can deal with it. This will at least keep us away from another six months with no updates am I right?

That's the same for me. The only real thing I care about is the roster. Hell, I actually only care about the returning characters. If they show us the returning roster, I won't even care about any of the other stuff that comes out. I just want to see if some of my other favorites are coming back.

I want to see whether my picks make it in or not personally but, a new stage here and there is nice too. I'll take what I can get even if I want something more.

According to IGN nothing new about Brawl was released at the summit.
The only thing they said about it was that they were again confirming that it will be released this year.

Link your sources when making such a claim. I don't see it on ign.com anywhere.

If they had info at this event, they'll probably save it for tonight or sometime this week.

Somewhere over the rainbow presumably.
I've seen that but it doesn't back up his claim. That was just Reggie's speech, not the whole summit. For all we know there was new info but it's under embargo. Nowhere on ign does it say that no info about Brawl was released.
I know. I was just saying that's probably what he was talking about.

actually, i enjoy the way sakurai is releasing the info daily. it keeps us entertained and it gets us all pumped for the daily weekday updates.
As do I. ^_^ Spreading the info over a long time is much smarter and better for keeping us hyped about the game after such a long information drought.

In Reggie's speech, he mentions several games, Brawl among them.

Later, Reggie mentions that the press present will soon be "upstairs demoing these games."

Did he just mean in general, or have the press just demoed Brawl today? Friday can't come quick enough.
