Nikita Tricks (updated: new technique)

The first time I visited the Snake boards I noticed everyone saying the Nikita is Snake's worst move. So, ever since then I dedicated all of my time playing Snake to finding some sort of use for Nikita because I knew it had high potential. So here is what I found out.

Water Canceled Nikita (WCN):

(I havent seen this one the boards so I went ahead and gave it a name ^^')

This is a pretty fun technique. What you do is start up a Nikita while falling into some water. When you land in the water the Nikita keeps on traveling in the same direction without stopping. If you are high enough out of the water you can angle it up and get a Nikita going straight up or if you dont have time to angle you get a low horizontal one. Delfino Plaza has low enough platforms that you can do multiple WCN's across the stage. Pirate Ship is not very good for this at all sadly.

Nikita Circles (lawl):

Start a Nikita and turn it around immediately and start circling it around Snake. This has some serious mind games, your opponent doesn't quite know what to do. At any time if they try to approach you can stop circling and send it in there direction. When you see the Nikita start to slow down aim it up so that when your opponent starts to charge I could fall down on top of them. This is mostly for kicks and giggles but can be good.

Instant Vertical Nikita:

Have you ever tried to angle a Nikita upwards for some mind games but it just takes to long? You have? Well then this is the technique for you. What you do is shield drop a grenade then send a Nikita towards the grenade. If timed right the grenade should blow up the Nikita and send straight up without losing any speed. What I do is shield drop grenade roll away, shield drop grenade roll away then fire your Nikita towards the nades. It should blow up on the first grenade. Not many people fall for falling Nikita's (haha) but its worth a shot.

Last Resort Nikita:

Have you ever been grabbed out of your Cypher when recovering but your C4 is already out so you wont have time to blow it up, put it out and blow it up again? Well I realized that you can have a final Nikita going after your opponent before you die. If your opponent stands right on the edge after the grab release you can barely angle it up and hit them, most people wont see it coming. If they move back to the center of the stage then send it straight up. Just a another explosive that is hard to predict.

(forgot to put this in when I made this thread, also didnt realize I could change the title)

Well here are my funny Nikita tricks. None of them are really ground breaking but they all can have there uses. Tell me what you think.

Who said Nikita is his worst move? It definetly goes to Fair or Dtilt.

Anyway these aren't new I've been knowing about them for a while now.

I agree, the instant vertical sounds great and I'm going to try that out!

Woah, I never thought about using the water to cancel it, or taking advantage of grenades to change the Nikita's trajectory.

Natch approves of this thread.

New Tech added. Has this one been discovered before or is it new. Gah I realized that I had the word Nikita stuck in my head and made the technique sound completely crazy. Sorry for not proof reading.

spudzalot, you may be our only chance to give the nikita the credit it deserves! :)

I wonder which snake players like to use the nikita a lot, because I really would like to see any videos they have.

those r cool~

sorry if im being a noob but here are some other cool nikita tricks

c-nikita; rapidly tapping c-stick to aim the nikita slowly but smoothly

crazy nikita; tap up and down to make the nikita all shaky and the opponent might get confused?

uhh nikita roll?; shoot a nikita and cancel it sort of near of the opponent and they might roll into it =o

nikita dodge; if ur high in the air from recovering shoot ur nikita for like 1~2 seconds then cancel it and as ur landing the opponent might wanna go to you so they run to you but they get hit from nikita =p i think thats pretty effective

grenade cancelled nikita; hmmm shield drop a grenade pick it up or stay next to it then shoot ur nikita and when the grenade blows up, the nikita will keep going by itself..?

land mine nikita; plant and landmine and stay there then shoot a nikita then the explosion will cancel it and it will go by itself and it also might go upwards while slight going backwards

nikita boomerang?; if u shoot a nikita and ur opponent dodges it or something u can aim back at yourself so when u get attacked the nikita will continue by itself and goes back to u and it can hit ur opponent =]

another instant vertical; shield drop a grenade then quickly pick it up and throw it down then roll away and shoot towards where you were and the grenade will land and explode on ur nikita nad it will shoot up!

i even did some cool launcher/spike cancelled nikita for target test lvl3 ^_^..

I like the circle one the best. The others seems a lot less simple. *begins to check them out*

I dunno if it's just me, but I also like to jump in front of my opponents and shoot a nikita. Mainly for the lawls too.

I personally like the dtilt a lot more than the nikita. The dtilt kills around 130~% and no one ever sees it coming haha.

It just seems like there is something else more productive- like cooking a grenade or laying a mine- that I could be doing instead of the nikita. I hardly ever use it.

what he said. when i first started playing snake i tried using the nikita a lot more, but since its incredibly hard to hit someone with and it only does like 7% damage per hit. I'm in the minority cuz i actually like the d tilt as an ooj option.

Never tried the water cancel though thanks for the tip.
