I think if you gotta do a switch out mechanic, you might as well just give them two slots. It wouldn't feel in character for them to have the same moves and animations as each other since they're so different personality wise.
That being said, I guess if nothing else, I'd prefer this to them being stapled to each other. Then you can at least still make them fight each other.

I doubt they wil give them 2 slots honestly, they didn't even bother adding all 4 turtles probably to add more variety in the roster visually, so I don't think they will sell us 2 beavers separately as dlc.

I doubt they wil give them 2 slots honestly, they didn't even bother adding all 4 turtles probably to add more variety in the roster visually, so I don't think they will sell us 2 beavers separately as dlc.

So I guess I'm of the opinion we'll either get 1 solo (probably Daggett since he seems like he'd be easier to turn into a fighter and you'd already have Richard Horvitz on standby for voice acting) or them as a duo (and admittedly I'm failing to think of a good reason why they would be one), but not both of them as separate characters in this game. Heck I suppose Norbert isn't that necessary even long term considering his entire schtick is being loaf-ish and easy going, just have him napping in the background of a stage or something, or maybe he and Treeflower are hanging out in the background or something

I said it already, but yeah, if that's how they decided to do it, I'd be down with a tag character since at least then you can have them both and they can fight each other. If they give them the same moveset with changes ala Pyra and Mythra, I hope they at least animate them differently enough that they don't feel like palette swaps, even if it's the same moves.

My dream scenario is a Nick Brawl game where you can have Dag vs Norb grudge matches like something out of the show, and I talk about it so much since I figure it's the best way to get people to come around to the idea. But realistically, I'd be happy to get anything, even if it's only Daggett or a pair of glued together beavers. (though the latter admittedly not without some grumbling)

True! I do enjoy her kit, though her actual move list isn't as music-y as I am envisioning - like, her attacks generally don't rely on rhythm elements insomuch as positioning with her floating and abnormally strong aerials. She's definitely the right aesthetic for the role though!

It's not so much I think we should get both Beavers as DLC for this game right away (would be cool tho') so much as we get both generally. Say we get Daggett in this game as DLC, then a NASB2 happens, one of the new characters is Norbert. Or DLC goes on long enough and knocks out enough characters that they can start double dipping and add in Norbert.
But in the end, I'd just be happy with whatever they give us since it's the Angry Beavers in a video game.

Too many of Leo's moves are centered around his dual katanas anyway, and ditto for Mikey and his nunchucks (and how he's the goofiest of the four). This isn't Injustice 2 where having four turtles was achievable by having them share a bunch of generic moves.

The devs straight up said none of the turtles would play alike if all four got in. They're not going to do clones.

Clones wouldn't really gel well with a game based on cartoons fundamentally, especially comedy cartoons where the usual dynamic is characters being opposites instead of parallels like an action show would. characers sharing abilities; models; textures; e.t.c. is common in games since models are consistently reused even without clone characters, but cartoons do not given that each character is redrawn every frame anyway - the rare occasion this is done in cartoons is usually either to establish a character as related to another in some form (be that childhood friends; siblings; spouses; so on); just for background characters; or for the sake of a joke. 3D shows do it a little more often, but I doubt they're adding Skeet any time soon to clone Chip the Counsellor from.

Watching that was an experience for sure. Daggett is more or less the same character, but he's basically hanging around a totally different beaver.

Giving Norb the big hair and making him a lighter yellow really went a long way.
