They're current;y playing and tearing the Lions up
Wow, they are?

EE better look at this then since he only roots for the Packers, I don't mind them but I also am going for the Cowboys to at least hit the semi-finals.

Lions only down by 6 after getting owned earlier in the game. They've got the ball now with7:36 left. Could it be another comeback? C'mon Lions offense.

Romo throws 2 pick 6's...geez. "clutch" one week, choking the next.

Oh well, 49ers scored 21 unanswered points to beat the Eagles :troll:

Surely you troll son.

But, god ****! Was it really such a close call on the Lions? Man, if they do this then Packers it will be, maybe EE is right.

I feel like any point I'd make will be lost on the Romo haters, but the first pick was a Defensive win, not an offensive loss. The second one I didn't see because I was making dinner, and the third one was a potentially big time play that Romo under threw because of pressure. Make no mistake, the pick 6's hurt, but the defense lost us this game.

Like I said on FB when we gave up the lead: "I don't know about that 12 man call, I haven't seen too many men in our secondary all game."

Punish the whole team, but don't forget about the first half completely when judging a QB.

Oh, and Calvin Johnson is still underrated. That's a tragedy. :O

80% of the QBs?

Let's see, there are 32 teams...at this point, I'd take...

Brady, Vick, Rivers, Brees, Rodgers, Peyton Manning, and Schaub.

That means Romo is in the 79th percentile with guys like Eli, Fitzpatrick, Roesthlesberger, etc. So nope, not better than 80% of the QBs.

Also, Vince Wilfork for 2/3 weeks with an INT. Too good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tYb-leyxVw

I would take Eli and Roethlisberger over Romo any day of the week. They have both proven that they have what it takes to get the job done.

Yeah, I agree. I've just been shaken by Big Ben's start to the season. He's been playing rather poorly.

lmfao...49ers nearly totaled their offensive production from their first 3 games in this win LOL.

Like I said, all points are lost on Romo haters. I'm not excusing the result, I'm just smart enough to not blame a functioning QB for mistakes that weren't his. I saw the other pick too now, that's a case of a receiver getting bullied to the ball. All 3 picks were good decisions, and only 1, the non-TD, was a error on Romo's part.

You can generalize all you want, QB's don't blow 24 point games by themselves.

I love going to /sp/ as when all is said and done for most games, they have reaction threads.

such as what I'm about to do now -

-The Jets game

And next week they play the pats, so i expect to see them lose again. Awesome. :glare:

Yeah I'd take any of the top guys listed earlier and also Big Ben, Eli, or even Cam Newton over Tony Romo.

EE better look at this then since he only roots for the Packers, I don't mind them but I also am going for the Cowboys to at least hit the semi-finals.
lmao no offence dude but I'll start taking your talk seriously when you show any evidence of watching or at least following any of the games at all. ;)

And it shows. Your excitement about the Cowboys leading in a game (leading -- not even winning!) suddenly rocketing them above the Packers is hysterical. As good as the Lions are they're still in a rebuild season, I don't see them making it past the first round of the playoffs unless it's a real underdog conference when the time comes. The Lions' good play this season has been a head-turner. Beating the Lions [at the time]? Not so much. Winning the superbowl on that basis? Particularly this early, while they're still very much in a state of rebuild, and it just happens to be gelling? Ha. Hahahahaha. No.

Packers set the stage for a 4-0 record by playing one of the better teams in the league and (barring a few staggering missteps), took a big fat dump all over them. First game of the season with the stupid new kickoff/punt rules and they somehow managed to implement the return game in a big way. And that last-drive walling of New Orleans? Yeah, that's how they play even when the game is beyond loss. That's the new GB for ya.

Romo personally **** the bed against the Jets when they had everything going for them in that game, and although the 49ers are defying their.... 49er-ness, there's still no way in hell that game should have been that close if you're expecting the Cowboys to be some kind of a threat. Also, D-troit outcome. I was kind enough not to mention it before, but c'mon. C'mon.

Cowboys have had a relatively easy time of things so far and still have a lot of obvious and often damning cobwebs.

Watch some NFL and you'll know what I'm on about :b:

EDIT: Z-O I will be cheering for your boys against the Pats. **** the Pats.

Whoa whoa whoa.

EE (or anybody else in the thread for that matter), do you care to shed some light on the new kickoff/punt rule?

I haven't heard about it.

(Haven't watched a game yet this season due to work.)

I'll do you one better and give you this link since it relates it to Hester, the Return Wizard.

clicky

In a nutshell: "Oh look, they're kicking off. It's going up... it's up... andddddddd it's out the back; after the commercial we'll yadda yadda"

Thanks for the link, EE.

...

Wow. That is freaking dumb. How in the hell do they figure that'll cut down on "violent impacts?"

I can't even begin to rationalize that.

Edit: Lol. I liked Hester's tweet. "I see the NFL is trying to take the kickoff game out," Hester tweeted Sunday. "They already punt out of bounds. What's next?"

Yeah like this might have been one of the worst decisions in the history of the sport. It's at least one of the worst since I've been watchin' pigskin plays.

Maaan, Dallas being my second team to root for, I'm not against Romo, I'm just being real. Let's look at the 3 INTs he threw...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm65dR2TT3E

WHAT THE HECK? What was he seeing? What kinda throw was that? You got Dez in tight coverage and even if Dez were open, I'm not sure if the ball would have gotten there given how crappy of a throw that was.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubwV-KGIiTM#t=1m15s

Okay, I can see how this was a bit of the receiver's fault for getting bumped on the route. However if you are Romo, you just don't blindly throw that. If you see the corner is doing bump and run coverage, give the receiver a bit more time or throw it to his back side.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubwV-KGIiTM#t=2m50s

It's a first down play...you're up 3 with 4 minutes left. Why you're trying to take a deep shot in the first place is baffling. Second, there's also a situation of living with no gain, scrambling out a bit and throwing it away. I saw Romo just panic and threw it deep, off his back foot...that was just meh.

If there is one thing I like about Alex Smith over Romo is that Smith will throw it away if he sees nothing happening rather than force it in like Romo or Favre. It's definitely something the 49ers coach has implemented into Smith's game. At the same time, you just gotta be smart and live with another play.

My take on week 4:

Tony Romo proving once again he's the most overrated QB in the nfl.

Dream team still failing hard.

Steelers ask for an offensive line for Christmas, but it will probably be too late by then :(

Bills beat pats then lose to Cincinnati. Wat.

Expect New York to burn to the ground next week if the Jets lose again. Rex really needs to put his foot down on his team.

Well, I didn't expect Jets to do as great as they have been the last two seasons.

Oh well.
