Tourney Thoughts//Shoutouts

We had a good time running this tourney. It was a lot of fun, and interesting to see how many people Brawl has brought to the community.

Admittedly, I was too overambitious about running too many tourneys in one day. Kim thought we shoulda kept it down to fewer events and finished earlier, but I wanted to host at least 1 tourney with all the games in it becuase no one else ever has. It was stressful, it was fun, but it probably won't be done again. Next time we'll probably just host brawl and finish at like 7 P.M. just to shut up all the noobs who've never run a tourney before lol.

Besides finishing late, this tourney was a blast, and people seemed to be a lot more kind and understanding this time around.

Shoutouts:

First and foremost, we've gotta give a HUGE shouout to our volunteers, you guys made everything run SO fast for what was going on at the time. The beginning of the tourney we were starting and finishing matches faster than we could call them, and thanks to you we finished our doubles tourneys, one having 61 teams and the other 37 teams, in just five hours. That's FAST. Thanks for all your hard work, loading the T.V's, staying up super late and unloading everything that morning, and coming over Friday night for our meeting. You guys are heros, and like we already told you, next time it'll be MUCH easier since we'll only be doing 1-2 events max, and we'll get to have a nice dinner afterwards.

ThomasSexy: You were a freakin' hero that day, basically running Melee single-handedly in the backroom. All I had to do was get matches from you, and you handled the rest. Thanks for your help, and for keeping your cool with everything going on.

Nashun: Thanks for lending us "The Beast", that thing's gotta be our official van from now on lol. Seriously though, you know that Wii Fit is too good. And stop bugging me to go on WoW, Kim and I will catch up to you soon enough :p .

Hero: Thanks for coming and helping out. Don't worry, your Capt.Falcon is still too good, and even if he doesn't win everyone will still love you for staying with him because we're all too scared to ;)

Don: Even if you only stayed about half the time, you helped us out a ton and we had a blast seeing you again. Thanks for showing up and for your support.

Ben: Ditto to you what I said to Don. Even though you couldn't come the night before, thanks for coming to help at all, even if you didn't get debriefed about what was going on. You helped just as much if not more than anyone else. You were really efficient and we appreciate you working so hard watching those T.V's. We know it's a hard job but you were great at it.

Danny: Thanks for coming and helping us out after you got off work. Adam & I were talking the other day about how you remind us of Andre the Giant from The Princess Bride. You're just full of that much awesome.

Carey: CAAAAREEEEEYYYYYY!!!!! LoL, don't worry, we'll host Guilty Gear or Third Strike next or soon so you can go out there and show everyone what a REAL fighting game is :laugh: .

Vicegrip: Your ness is tooooo good. Thanks for coming short-notice after a few of our volunteers cancelled on us. It was great to meet you again in person after all of us in our apartment seeing you play online. We all enjoyed having you over (maybe Kuma did a little TOO much LOL :laugh: )

Other Shoutouts:

Team X-Blades is toooooo good, all 4 of you.

Whoever was Dad that day, you rock. First time in a tourney we've seen a PARENT play IN TOURNAMENT with their kid and actually WIN some matches! That was hilarious, hope to see that more in future tourneys.

DookDiggity: Thanks for showing up to the tourney, it must have been stressful for you to get here with the ride situation and all, but we enjoyed having you here. + your shirt rocks.

Ajax: Good Job! Your random F-smash on DSF made us LoL.

Luigi + Family: Thanks for letting us use the church. Your parents are too nice, tell them thanks much from us.

wow, I did terrible. oh well, I guess it's okay, I got camped by a ***got brawl noob and got ***** by an actually good person (ShadowRob) so I'm kinda happy about how I did.
