I joke, but there's a good chance of him showing up in a Yoshi themed DLC pack (EDIT: assuming there is one) since he and Baby Donkey Kong are the only existing baby characters that have never been in Mario Kart.

At least they exist beforehand. I'll still grumble a bit though, like Baby Peach and especially Baby Daisy(as it only happened because it just needed to as Daisy was basically the Luigi to Peach's Mario). Baby Rosalina has no excuse, I'm dreading Baby Pauline and I'm just dreading Baby Waluigi since not only do I see it as an inevitability if Baby Wario happened, but I feel their design is going to be very divisive.

And in terms of that possible kid Pauline we saw in the leaked artwork for Donkey Kong Bananza, I will wait to see how that works out for the game when it comes out. That being said, at the least she has much more effort in her design compared to Baby Daisy and Baby Rosalina.

...I'm just dreading Baby Waluigi since not only do I see it as an inevitability if Baby Wario happened, but I feel their design is going to be very divisive.

Given that the babies are more or less a copy paste job, I'm not sure how divisive Baby Waluigi would be as a character design since it'd pretty much be Baby Wario, but purple, and with a slightly more angular head shape or something.

EDIT: Not to say that Baby Waluigi would be ideal. Honestly the reason we haven't seen the Baby Wahs is because the appeal of the babies is kind of the opposite of the appeal of the Wahs.

So in my latest update in Rosalina propaganda, it seems with Mario Kart World having 4 teams, she's now one of team..... themes I guess?

I don't think these will be the only 4 to get team themes (I mean, what, freaking Mario won't get one but these 4 will?) but even so, she's highly unlikely to get cut anyways. Unless the roster gets down to that 'half of the vets return' line as everyone was once doing on YT, Rosalina is highly unlikely to get cut. I see many people cutting her and keeping Browser Jr. based solely on him appearing on more games but that's not a good argument to make given that... you know, Toad is still not in Smash despite stomping on both of them in terms of appearances. She's absolutely staying over him and overall is a very likely returnee given that the chances of the Mario roster getting trimmed to its bare bones are small anyways.

I think it will be pretty awkward when people see Baby Waluigi being the same size as Baby Wario. I mean sure, Luigi is taller than Mario and both Baby Mario and Baby Luigi are the same size, but Luigi is only slightly taller than Mario overall, whereas Waluigi normally towers over Wario. The thought of them being the same size just looks off-putting.
And sure, Rosalina normally towers over Peach and Daisy and her Baby form is the same size as the other 2 Baby forms, but Baby Rosalina is a mistake.

Oh, Geno yes, absolutely. Like even if for whatever reason both her and Junior are cut, NO, they are NOT getting cut just to be replaced by Geno of all characters - people who predict that one need to touch some grass in regards to Geno. Waluigi getting in though is gonna happen - I am very certain, but I really don't think it will be at Rosalina's expense (though in Bowser Jr's case it could)

I'm confused as to why people are assuming we have.

In the direct, they show there are thirteen pages of characters. We currently know of 152 characters (50 unique characters and 102 costumes), which at 12 characters each, would end up at 13 pages.

Obviously there could be more pages (and even if there aren't, there could be four more characters to fully fill the last page), but the fact that the numbers line up does make me think this is probably it.

I have a theory that Nintendo is going to add a bunch of crossover characters from other Nintendo series as DLC, and they are going to count “Donkey Kong Country” characters like Diddy Kong and Funky Kong as “crossover characters”.

Hey, as long as we also get Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong, King K. Rool and a couple other Kremling Mooks, hopefully a couple other Kongs like Lanky and Tiny, and make MKW Candy Kong's first playable appearance, I'd be okay with that.
A Bonus if we also get Tiki Tong and/or Krazy Kalimba & a couple other Tiki Mooks, Lord Frederik & some of the other Snowmads, and a couple of the new villains from the new Donkey Kong game.

Speaking of whom... legit hoping for folks like Mona, 9-Volt, Ashley, and some other WarioWare characters too. Out of curiosity, do you all think they'll be treated like Link, Isabelle, and the other 'guest racers'?

I don't know, I can see Nintendo going out of their way to pull this on any and all Wario characters (Non-Ware Wario characters included).

I wouldn’t rule it out, but I think Kirby & Captain Falcon’s chances are overrated.

Kirby especially has some market clashing with Kirby Air Riders releasing this year.

In terms of currently active, wholly owned, first-party Nintendo series, here’s the lineup we might be looking at (maybe subject to change?).

• The Legend of Zelda
• Metroid
• Animal Crossing
• Pikmin
• Xenoblade Chronicles
• Splatoon

Whilst Nintendo could pull from Zelda, AC, and Splatoon again, it would be a little expected and underwhelming, with the only likely additions being Zelda, Tom Nook, and Octolings.

Pikmin is the next logical step after MK8D, and I do think it would fit well in MK World’s world design. People really liked Squeaky Clean Sprint, after all, and I can see the giant garden theme being appealing.

For Metroid and Xenoblade, the big questions are:

• Would Nintendo be okay with advertising their more teen-oriented series in Mario Kart?
• How do you balance representation of different worlds?

Metroid is generally a darker series visually compared to most of Nintendo’s series. If legacy matters, I think Metroid is a strong candidate.

Xenoblade would benefit by being the most unexpected and surprising out of this bunch, being a dark horse candidate here. The worlds would also be very fun to see.

The lack of Odyssey representation in spinoffs outside of New Donk City in general has been baffling.

Treasure Tracker is basically one of the exceptions but thats only because of reused assets in the Switch and 3DS ports. I guess also Smash which is Cappy's last appearance.

I have said it before and I'll ask again. What do you think about Indie characters and their chances for the next game? So far, Assist Trophy, Spirits and Premium Mii Costumes are the closest they gotten before fighter status.

Of course, some come and go based on their popularity and impact.

I think we few indie as some other sort of corraled group when really Sakurais would likely just view them as any other third party pick.

It’s weird that it’s been 17 years since his last non-Smash appearance. Even characters like Chunky, Swanky and Kiddy Kong had recent appearances after a long time even if it’s just the Mario movie.

I think some people are reading too deep into things and seeing signs where there aren’t any. However, I also think there’s a few things that are a bit too suspicious. Namely Cranky’s dialogue.

He says there’s a banana thief on the loose, and he knows exactly who to blame. Now he could be talking about Voidco, but firstly it’s stated that Voidco is a mystery to the main characters, and secondly he isn’t referring to a group, but a singular male individual. One guy, who Cranky has history with, who’s known for stealing bananas.

And then he says “Back in my day rivals had charisma. Even in overalls.” Mario reference aside, he refers to this banana thief as a rival. Now this is a stretch, but do you remember what K Rool’s Smash trailer was titled? Rivals.

And then he has this to say. “How could a crook like that command any respect?” Crook. Command. Krook. Kommand. I dunno man I feel like these are loaded terms he’s using.

I’m not 100% expecting to see King K Rool in the game, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was absent. But there’s something going on here…

Devil's advocate here, Tears of the Kingdom was $10 more than usual for a Switch game, but didn't have any DLC (actually making it cheaper to have the complete TOTK experience than the complete BOTW one). The thought's crossed my mind that MKWd could be the same (or have free dlc like Splatoon and the Switch Mario Sports games). I wouldn't count on it, but i think it's a possibility.

They mostly do. But they can't be used to wake up the system.

What we do know so far is that Ingot Isle is far off the shores of DK Island.

And the entire premise of the game is going underground thanks to Voidco sending the island down under land. Also, the Banana Gems too.

A Pikmin theme area sounds like the best way to bring back real world tracks like Squeaky Clean Sprint and Ribbon Road, not that Pikmin would need any help with new tracks.

I dunno if that's quite the case, but looking back at it: She's wearing a crown in the beginning of the story, so she likely is royalty. She's also strawberry blonde, but the art style depicts it as a very warm peach color, so I thought she was a redhead. I'm fairly certain that means her hair is still the wrong color, but it's not as bad as I thought. As far as her being magic as a child, I think that's still a ret-con since they and crafted everything they built, but her mom is mysterious so maybe she was magic from the start and just didn't rely on it until adult hood?

So yeah, I still say she breaks cannon, but it's whatever.

Pikmin will definitely happen at some point. And you have all the different Captains as possible playables, as well as all the different Pikmin types(just imagine a bunch of Pikmin working together to drive a kart) as well as Mooks like a Bulborb.

I mean, it'd be very understandable why they were picked. They easily would get the most attention and artwork regarding what costumes they are given looks at the attention Peach and Daisy's costumes are getting from fans are the most popular characters of the franchise.
