If Kratos ever gets in, I'm hoping they base his moveset off of the original God of War games and include music from those games. Including this masterpiece:

Honesly, i had no idea this game existed until today, but bring him in, he looks sick af lol.
It's the third game in the larger devil summoner series, released in the same year as persona 3 (and its sequel was the same year as persona 4). A huge fan-favourite character (and if interviews are anything to go by, the smt devs also love him).

Can't believe I open this site for the first time in months and one day later people actually want a more niche megaten rep... brings a tear to my eye...

Also I mentioned the art earlier but looking at the full one...

...this really looks like Kazuma Kaneko (but he left ATLUS and hasnt't done art for them since... 2009?) So it surely can't be...

I know I've said it before, but I'm still kind of shook over Hot Shots Golf coming to a Nintendo console. Getting a better look at it now, the character designs are a bit... iffy to me, as I'm more used to ClapHanz's more wide-eyed character designs, but maybe this'll grow on me.

Side note, but it's interesting to see Bamco developing this instead of ClapHanz...

I legit wonder what this might mean for stuff like Ape Escape, Gravity Rush, and the other Japan Studio IPs...

Even though Ratchet isn't on Nintendo consoles, at least yet, and Kratos is more popular i still think he could be the Sony rep.
Ratchet and Clank just fits so well with the vive of Smash Bros. Ratchet also has insane moveset potential, it just seems like a natural fit to me.
Astro Bot is also up there.

I think Namco was also developing the Patapon re-release, so Namco may just be who Sony's going to for that stuff in general.

ALSO HOLY **** RHYTHM HEAVEN CAME BACK, I PUT ON THE CLOWN WIG AND EVERYTHING AND IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Well, Super Robot Wars Y was just anounced after not getting a new game for ages and Project x Zone and SRW were made by the same team....well at least when Banpresto still existed, so peraphs hope isn't dead yet for a new PxZ.
It hasn't been THAT long since a new srw happened, it was a 3 year dev cycle (the DLC run of 30 was basically an entire separate game in length)

Now that we know that Bamco is releasing more SRW in north america i can feel comfortable in requesting one of the characters appear in smash.

Tbf, Solid Snake got in before other Konami reps and Bayonetta was the second SEGA character to get in. Just because a character "fits Smash Bros" due to being a platformer mascot doesn't mean they'll necessarily get in first. I do think Kratos is just more likely, and Astro Bot being more recent also makes that potentially more likely as well.

Meanwhile Ratchet & Clank is bordering on being a dead IP, it had one mainline release in the past 10+ years, and it doesn't have Banjo levels of popularity to make up for that. So I think overall I wouldn't expect Ratchet and Clank. It would be very cool for them to get in, but they seem less likely then some other Sony reps.

Nintendo putting Sony games on the Switch (and possibly Switch 2) does give greater hope for getting Kratos or Astro Bot in the next Smash as DLC characters, which would be sick.
I heard that Kratos is in Fortnite in all versions so it’s probably not as hard as people think.

Also Lego Horizon Adventures being on Switch despite the original Horizon Zero Dawn being PS and PC exclusive.

I feel like one disadvantage would be Raidou’s design which is controversial in countries such as China and South Korea.

An example is how the DLC costumes based on that game were removed in the rerelease of Persona 5 Royal on PC, Xbox and Switch.

True... tbh when it leaked last year I was wondering if Raidou's design would need to be changed for that exact reason - I guess it just isn't releasing in those regions?

Also on Bandai Namco America's account it's said that Super Robot Wars Y is coming to Switch.

Which yeah it was announced in a direct of course it's coming to switch, but the fact that the AMERICAN account posted about it implies that the American version isn't steam exclusive this time around, that's pretty cool. It'll be easier for Switch players to get their hands on the game.

Like i said previously i'm not sure about the chances of a Sony rep yet, but i think Master Chief is definitely on the table at least, call me crazy, but i could eben see Chief even begin the first DLC fighter of Smash 6. Specially If there's cuts, Chief seems like a good way to hype up people who are on the fence.

Now that we have a Kingdom Hearts rep, i could see Super Robot Wars showing up, it is pretty popular in japan, right?
Out of curiosity who would be the rep and the stage?

I will admit, I'm a bit worried about how Rhythm Heaven Groove will do sales-wise coming out on the Switch 1 next year when the Switch 2 will already be out, but what I do know is I will be playing lmao
Considering that the Switch 2 is backwards compatible, I don’t think Groove will outright flop.

I always thought that Patapon and Hot Shots Golf look like Nintendo-style games and here they are, actually on a Nintendo console.

I guess LocoRoco is next?

Right, I don't think it'll outright flop, and the Switch has a big enough install base that if it's early enough next year it could still do well by catching some folks that haven't gotten a Switch 2 yet, it just worries me because it reminds me of the 3DS games that came out after the Switch launched. A little different obviously since it IS backwards compatible, but after Megamix was digital only in the West, I just get a little nervous hearing that it's next year but not the new console lol

It's one of the longest running JRPG series in Japan, starting in the early 90's and continuing to this day so yeah it's popular.

This is the character i'd use

Masaki and his mech the Cybuster.

He's the franchise's first protagonist and continues to pop up here and there to help the newer characters in the most recent games, his game was never localized but if you've only played the english ones you'll know him because of how often he pops up.

He's kinda like Sora where he and his animal buddies keep traveling to different worlds to fight evil forces, though in his case the reason he ends up in different worlds is because his sense of direction is really bad.

Here's a chapter with him in it.

So.... How do you feel about Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven coming back? Do you think this will impact the content they get in Smash?
God I hope so lmao

At least a stage for Rhythm Heaven, come on. And we need more than just 3 songs for a rhythm game franchise lol

honestly I’m quite happy to have them back. I love the other games in their series that I played and I can’t wait to get stuck in.

as for smash well we already have the miis so this might just persuade them to bring back the stage again. though the new island looks like it make quite a nice stage. I’d love a rhythm paradise character in smash but I’m not hopeful. But I think this could get us a stage

In RH's case I was always wondering if it was truly dormant or if they were just keeping up the coming-out-at-the-end-of-a-system's-life trend the series always had.
