I like how they handled DQ in smash because they decided to go with this "Most popular entry" requirement and put the DQ3 AND DQ8 heroes in there.Did you miss the part where I said that the JRPG protagonists are an exception and that they choose the characters from the most popular games? Even then, the three exception characters are still the protagonists of their games, soooo... yes, 100% there is a hard rule that the protagonist WILL get in first. And yes, Simon WAS the first character. He was revealed first, Richter is HIS echo, and we have confirmation Simon was highly requested. Richter is the bonus, but Simon WAS the first character.
This so much. It catered to everyone well. And worked for marketing in general to try and get the series to sell worldwide. As well as an excellent way to sell DLC since they were marketing around Eleven in the first place.I like how they handled DQ in smash because they decided to go with this "Most popular entry" requirement and put the DQ3 AND DQ8 heroes in there.
Since DQ3 is the most popular in asia while DQ8 is the most popular in the west. Everybody won and it's awsome.
Assuming you're asking for where info can be found from the leak...Also, Tears of the Kingdom has leaked. I have a specific question, who's got the sauce here?
I don't like Marian in this. She looks like she's heavily inspired by April from Shredder's Revenge. Instead of the badass Marian from RCG2.For fans of classic Beat ‘em ups, it looks like Double Dragon is finally getting a new game. I’d probably prefer the Streets of Rage 4 graphical style for Double Dragon but it’s great that it’s getting something. It’s cool to see the genre make a bit of a resurgence in recent years. Hopefully we get another new Battletoads game before too long. A new game usually helps a character’s chances for Smash.
Yeah, I definitely prefer her in River City Girls 2. She’s fine here but I agree she was awesome in RCG2.I don't like Marian in this. She looks like she's heavily inspired by April from Shredder's Revenge. Instead of the badass Marian from RCG2.
Agreed! I'd love Laura Croft, Jill Valentine,I feel like Smash could use a few more badass women.
Lara Croft. It's a common misconception.Agreed! I'd love Laura Croft, Jill Valentine,Marina Shafir, Chun-Li... Bunch more really!
I’d personally love to see Sarah Kerrigan, Velvet Crowe, Jinx or Vi, Jena Anderson, Medusa, Black Orchid, Etna, H’aanit, Impa (HW), Tharja and a bunch of others.Agreed! I'd love Laura Croft, Jill Valentine,Marina Shafir, Chun-Li... Bunch more really!
And let's NOT talk about the Non-Video Game ones.I’d personally love to see Sarah Kerrigan, Velvet Crowe, Jinx or Vi, Jenna Anderson, Medusa, Black Orchid, Etna, H’aanit, Impa (HW), Tharja and a bunch of others.
Give me Estelle Bright, too!Lara Croft. It's a common misconception.
But yeah, the more the merrier. Give me Lara. Give me Jill. Give me Chun Li. Give me 2B. Give me Tracer (at least after Crash). Give me Alis Landale. Give me Officer Howard. Give me Sami. Give me Impa.
I don't see why you can't be cheerful and badass.I feel like Smash could use a few more badass women. That’s one reason I prefer Impa’s HW portrayal to her in AoC. I was also sad to see Zelda swap from her stoic TP version to her more cheerful ALTTP version.
You can be both. I’m not sure if I’d describe Ultimate Zelda as badass but someone like Kathryn from Three Houses or Ashera from Xenoblade 3 are both cheerful and badass. I suppose it’s all subjective though. Depends on your definition of badass.I don't see why you can't be cheerful and badass.
It sounds more like the word you're looking for is mature rather than badass. You can be both. I’m not sure if I’d describe Ultimate Zelda as badass but someone like Kathryn from Three Houses or Ashera from Xenoblade 3 are both.
Unrelated but I do find it funny you somehow remembered Catherine as "Kathryn".You can be both. I think it’s probably closer to “cool and tough” than mature. It’s all subjective like I said before but that’s how I see it. For example, Peach is likely older than Vi but I wouldn’t really call Peach a badass. I guess it’s a tricky word because it means different things to different people. It sounds more like the word you're looking for is mature rather than badass.
Lol I don’t know how that happened. I beat Dimitri’s story Three Houses and most of Edelgarde’s in Three Hopes and Catherine was one of my favorite characters. You’d think I’d remember how to spell her name.Unrelated but I do find it funny you somehow remembered Catherine as "Kathryn".
Cool and tough aren't mutually restricted from cheerful, cutesy, etc, characters. Peach can certainly fit the cool and tough aspect when given the opportunity. If anything, mature sounds closer as the characters you're describing aren't necessarily older, but experienced, stout, hardened, etc.I think it’s probably closer to “cool and tough” than mature. I legitimately want to see Jessie and James make it into Smash. I feel like they are probably the most iconic video game adjacent characters not already playable in Smash and were by far my favorite part of the anime. I’d love for at least James to get his old 4Kids voice actor back (Eric Stuart). I’d like Jessie’s as well but her new voice actress does a great job. Sadly, Meowth’s original voice actress passed so we’d have to stick to the new one.
Do you remember which season was his last?I legitimately want to see Jessie and James make it into Smash. I think it was either during Gen 3 or 4 but it’s hard to remember exactly.Do you remember which season was his last?
Do you mean Battle Frontier, where they changed tons of voice overs? Battle Frontier is basically a filler season to give them time to work on Diamond and Pearl, just like Orange Islands was for Johto. ...Though oddly Gen 2 is treated as part of the same core series as Gen 1. It's odd. Gen 3 is the first time they changed to a "proper new series" among the seasons. This could be due to Gen 1 and 2 originally being one game?I think it was either during Gen 3 or 4 but it’s hard to remember exactly.
Probably. I stopped watching the anime regularly after Gen 2 so it’s hard to remember exact details but that sounds right. I’ve watched a bit here and there since then so I’m not totally out of the loop at least.Do you mean Battle Frontier, where they changed tons of voice overs? It bothrs me that they chose not to do this nowadays to give them a bit more time to work on the games.Do you mean Battle Frontier, where they changed tons of voice overs? Netflix releases seasons pretty slowly, so that may no longer be an issue. It bothrs me that they chose not to do this nowadays to give them a bit more time to work on the games.
I wish Megaman showed more love to the stuff outside the NES. I get why its like that but having songs from some of the Megaman series (X, Zero and Star force) but not at least one song from all the series (Battle network, ZX and Legends) really bugged me.I noticed how the subjects always tend to find itself coming back to Pokemon somehow. lol
You know it's too bad that despite third party series like Castlevania and Dragon Quest starting on the NES, they never show much of any of their NES nostalgia like the Mega Man series does. No retro themes either.
The big difference there is that, Mega Man is famous for having a ton of really recognizable songs. So if they become playable in the next Smash game, I would be surprised if they don't get the Mega Man treatment with both remixes and retro tracks from their series.
