Basically a new boss along the lines of Tabuu or Galeem or Dharkon.Define "new boss", is that a free space?
Scintilla + Guardian Orbitars were what I was going for, yeah lol. Like it'd need to be held like the latter, not placed and forgotten like Place Block.Apparently Jump Glide had an absolutely broken application as an approach tool, and if she kept it in Ultimate those nair loops would have been way more of a problem than they were. It would also mean that Palutena would never be able to recover (unless it was a side special and she kept Warp for some ungodly reason) so uh...yeah getting rid of it was a good choice.
I thought Angelic Missile was fine mechanically. Bit of an odd thing for Palutena to turn herself into a missile, but I don't remember it being a terrible move.
Heavenly Light on the other hand easily cracks the top 10 most useless special moves, being right up there with Egg Roll and Rollout.
EDIT: Celestial Firework was also kinda pointless IIRC.
I'm picturing Scintilla meets Place Block and the thought terrifies me.
...
Maybe you were thinking more along the lines of Scintilla + Guardian Orbitars. That's seems more reasonable.
Also today I learned scintilla is an actual word. It also seems to have nothing to do with the spell's effect.
Honestly just get rid of the windbox at the edges, it was a pretty laggy move otherwise iirc.Heavenly Light was a really cool move in concept though. It felt so unique. I wonder if they could have made it useful without being overpowered with proper balancing.
We'll see, I wouldn't be surprised to see either come over with a staggered release date. From what we know the Switch 2 can handle UE5 games with some bespoke ports.A shame these aren't on Nintendo. That's all I gotta say.
I think we'll going to be waiting until the April Direct to see all of this come to Switch 2.A shame these aren't on Nintendo. That's all I gotta say.
I see. It's a fairly passable roster. Would like to see GiygasBasically a new boss along the lines of Tabuu or Galeem or Dharkon.

I guess I can reasonably trade Zero Suit Samus for Raven Beak.Hypothetical question: if Raven Beak would join the roster at the expense of one of the unique Metroid fighters, would you do it?
Only if it's Zero Suit Samus. I'll always take a unique character over a 2nd version of a character we already have.Hypothetical question: if Raven Beak would join the roster at the expense of one of the unique Metroid fighters, would you do it?
I don't think too many people are trying to storm that hill. He seems like most people would like him. Also Raven Beak should be a newcomer and I will die on this hill
Yes because ZSS is completely unnecessary when the sole reason she was added isn't a problem anymore plus the direction they've taken her with the really tacky jet heels is lame.Hypothetical question: if Raven Beak would join the roster at the expense of one of the unique Metroid fighters, would you do it?
(Yet)A shame these aren't on Nintendo. That's all I gotta say.
I love that Diddy never even mentioned Zero Suit Samus specifically and everyone who's responded immediately said "yes, I would gladly drop Zero Suit Samus for Raven Beak"Hypothetical question: if Raven Beak would join the roster at the expense of one of the unique Metroid fighters, would you do it?
I mean when the other options are regular Samus and Ridley...I love that Diddy never even mentioned Zero Suit Samus specifically and everyone who's responded immediately said "yes, I would gladly drop Zero Suit Samus for Raven Beak"
I do. Similarly to Shadow, I don’t think his recent push helps his chances for the base game but he was already very popular and highly requested so I could see both of them at launch.Anyone else think Ryu Hayabusa could be a base roster newcomer? He gives me similar vibes as Simon Belmont, as in they're both characters from notable third party franchises that began on the NES.
As you know, I don't want anyone cut. But I'm playing along with the hypothetical.I love that Diddy never even mentioned Zero Suit Samus specifically and everyone who's responded immediately said "yes, I would gladly drop Zero Suit Samus for Raven Beak"
Why yes. I do think that.Anyone else think Ryu Hayabusa could be a base roster newcomer? He gives me similar vibes as Simon Belmont, as in they're both characters from notable third party franchises that began on the NES.
EMMI should be an AT or stage hazard.I also really like E.M.M.I. as an option.
Honestly? Yeah.Anyone else think Ryu Hayabusa could be a base roster newcomer? He gives me similar vibes as Simon Belmont, as in they're both characters from notable third party franchises that began on the NES.
Heh, I would pick Zero Suit Samus over Ridley. Ridley is a very awkward fighter. Zero Suit Samus has legacy over Ridley too. Unless they drastically are able to make a better Ridley, I wouldn't want the Ultimate version over Zero Suit Samus. I'd pick ZSS in a heart beat every single time.I love that Diddy never even mentioned Zero Suit Samus specifically and everyone who's responded immediately said "yes, I would gladly drop Zero Suit Samus for Raven Beak"
But yeah, ZSS was really lucky to get in when she did, because she'd be a really hard sell now. Like I don't think anyone would be too keen on "Samus, but without her armor that everyone knows and loves"
Biolizard...over Eggman? GTFOH!If Shadow makes it into the next game, they could add in the Biolizard as a boss to go along with him.
Eggman would obviously be playable.Biolizard...over Eggman? GTFOH!
Honestly, I'd really like a Planet ZDR stage (don't know specific locations, so bear with me lol) with EMMIs as a stage hazard sort of akin to Ultimate Chimera but maybe with a chance to fight them off like how you can sort of parry them in Dread to get away, whether Raven Beak is in or not. Just feels like a logical stage choice to make while also being different from Metroid's typical acid/lava obsession in Smash stages.EMMI should be an AT or stage hazard.
If Shadow makes it into the next game, they could add in the Biolizard as a boss to go along with him.

I need that Yoko Shimomura remix of 4-2Finally, there's new life in Hayabusa discussion for Smash!
I was kind of hoping for Keiji Yamagishi to do a remix of 4-2, but that works too.I need that Yoko Shimomura remix of 4-2
If Eggman's using his Sonic Adventure 2 mech, he's not that much bigger compared to Sonic and Shadow. When he's in his mech in that game, he's probably about 1.5 taller than Shadow and Rouge when looking at him in the cutscenes with those characters. And Bowser in Smash Bros. is past that when comparing Bowser's size to Sonic, so Eggman in his SA2 mech would probably be a middle ground between Ganondorf and Bowser's sizes.I feel like the “too big” argument applies to Eggman even more than it did for Ridley. Eggman is already the size of a larger adult without his mech but he’d be pretty massive with it. It would probably look pretty awkward scaling him down. Ridley is at least a dragon and not a human so it looks less weird seeing him scaled down but if Eggman has to be scaled down to Bowser Jr. size or something just to work, that’s a harder sell. Not saying it’s impossible but it would be really tricky. I feel like a boss is easier.
I confused her up taunt with her down taunt and imagined her taking 5 years to flick her hair. lolUp Taunt: Animation is extended and upon completion casts Heavenly Light (with a smaller range compared to 4 and no windboxes.) Instead of damaging opponents it would now heal Palutena (and teammates) while they stand within the light. Still at a very slow rate of 1% per second, with a duration of 25 seconds. (No, it's not broken, it's like the healing field item but it takes longer to set up and good luck on having an opponent that sits there and lets you heal the full 25%.)
Hypothetical question: if Raven Beak would join the roster at the expense of one of the unique Metroid fighters, would you do it?
