Good news to DarthEnderX and me. We got both a new Ninja Gaiden game and an awesome musical performance of some of the best songs from Arcane. I feel like both have a lot of momentum right now. I haven’t been watching until just now so I’m just skipping around. It looks like Ryu Hyabusa isn’t the playable character based on the trailer but it should still boost his chances for Smash regardless.

Ninja Gaiden, Virtua Fighter and Onimusha all being revived is insane.
Now there's probably going to be a bigger chance for VIrtua Fighter to get a playable character into Smash Bros. Now, I am not saying it is likely to happen, but it is now something even I would like to see!

It's a fairly prominent Capcom action game.Its big in Japan. We haven't gotten a game in a while.
But if you've played Tatsunoko vs Capcom, it's where Kajin no Soki is from.

It's based on a comic book.
I thought so. Quite a shame, because I would have liked to see Turok as a playable character in a game like Smash Bros.

I don’t think he’s eligible by the strict definition but I would say he’s more known for his games than the books. Kind of like the Witcher. It depends if Sakurai wants to stretch the definition of who’s eligible or not. As things stand now, I’d say no.
I don’t typically care about shooters but this Game awards has three that look pretty cool: Borderlands 4, Turok, and Warframe 1999.

There's been some speculation that this game is happening at the same time as the first NG title, potentially making this a Ninja Gaiden... Gaiden game.

Tifa definitely would have fit Tekken’s fighting style more than Clive. I think they added Noctis last time so it seems like they’re just going with the newest entry.

Yeah, a samurai character would be awesome. I never played much of the Onimusha series but I’ve always thought it was pretty cool.
Well, with that said, I guess Sakurai could make an exception for characters like Turok and those from The Witcher in terms of getting into Smash Bros., at least characters who are more known for their games than their origin media. Smash Bros. is said to be a celebration of gaming, after all.
It probably will never happen, but it could have been nice.

Is it just Sonic characters or is it a Sonic & Sega All-Stars Crossover game? Would rather know that now so I can decide whether I will care or not.

Here's an idea for Cappy:
What if the following. When Cappy hits an opponent, Mario possesses them only momentarily, you get a split-second look at them with the goofy hat and mustache garb, and then Mario pops out as the opponent gets launched. So, functionally, it's basically just a command grab, except instead of the usual "you move towards them and grab, then launch" it's that you throw out a short-range projectile, and if it hits then you warp to their spot and they get launched. Obviously using the projectile to activate the effect is inherently lower-risk, so there would have to be some significant downside baked in. And I haven't thought about the fit with the rest of Mario's moveset, but it was just a thought I had today.
