He mentioned his budget isn't what he wishes it was recently, but I don't know why he thinks it's not big enough, seeing as how he was able to have Sora be the finale. Unless too much money went into licensing Sora specifically and not enough on his moveset, I mean it isn't really anything special.

I think Nintendo grants an amount (bearing in mind some games go over budget due to unforseen circumstances) and it's up to the devs to make it work by budgeting it themselves and so Sakurai did this by allocating a percentage toward design and the rest for marketing. In the design portion you then have it broken down again into categories so like base roster, dlc, solo modes, online, etc.

What seems to be the case is within the marketing portion of the overall budget Joker ended up costing more than everyone else so the remaining reveals were toned down or rather Sakurai's work increased, kind of like how salaried workers get paid the same regardless of how many hours they work. His comment stuck me as dang I wish we had more money so I could pay others to do more work. It's interesting to think about at any rate. I'd love to see the balance sheets for Nintendo IPs as it would shed light on a lot of this.

Seriously, this is basically perfect. Not only does the moveset look professionally done, but they also gave BWD a ton of tools that look really fun. I desperately want to juggle someone with that up-tilt.

Love his work. He also has a Waluigi and Toad character mod. I believe his Banjo is still happening regardless of Banjo's official inclusion into Ultimate but the work slowed down considerably due to that. The Waluigi reveal trailer confirmed Skull Kid was next on his list and I can't wait to try that one out.

If nothing else I hope Ultimate modding can get to this level someday soon. Melee modding is also taking off quite well now. I'm pretty sure Smash 64 Remix is done but I hope I'm wrong and they come back soon.

Promise me Edelgard will be a playable Mirage, and it'll be worth it.
