I mean.. you just got to be patient I guess, its not really that long of an intro.
Besides the fact that you would be extremely hyped if he got in, this character actually stands on his own, the specials are cool and the musics catchy(or at least the main theme is)

It's not only because of feminism. It's because I wanted to see women who appealed to my tastes as well as someone I can relate with, which the Fighters Pass hasn't satisfied.
The boycott is mostly my decision. It won't affect anyone. You sound like you're not liking my decision.

Why should your feminist upbringing influence a video game-related decision? That sounds like you feel like you’re entitled to a female character. Even though there’s never been any reason for anyone to expect such a thing. Smash is not a damn political platform that needs to pander to your political ideals

You all think I'm crazy, insane. And I don't like it if people test my patience.
If it's the game's decision, fine. But all I'll see of it is wasted potential. Why does everyone not expect female characters anyway? Just goes to show that as a women, the industry is a cruel world.

What gets me is how ****ing perfect they got Black Knight. This slow ************ is going to beat you to death and the best option to deal with him is running away, like how he works in FE. I see people ***** about Fire Emblem representation and I see people ***** about assists for whatever reason and then we get a top 3 FE villain as an assist with nothing but praise

Female Inkling was literally the first character announced for Ultimate. Bayonetta was the big finale for Smash 4. They’ve given female characters just as much spotlight but you don’t seem to acknowledge that.

Speaking of characters that are often brought up but don’t have a thread yet: anyone willing to make that Estelle (Trails) thread? I would but I know nothing about Trails
maybe I’ll make an Estelle (Vesperia) thread though for the lels... and because a white mage archetype in smash would be unique

See, not having a new female character in the DLC does not sound right.
All of them are locks. Calling it.
Joking aside, all of them do have really good chances of making it in.
RE's been talked about a ton, and being one of Capcom's favored franchises it'd be a major surprise if it didn't make it in. Honestly out of its characters I might consider Chris the slight favorite - but you could make the argument for Jill being the favorite too. Leon seems to me like the outsider. It becomes a question of which game and which playstyle Sakurai favors. Still, favorite to make it in as either FP5 or later DLC for many good reasons.
Halo and Minecraft might battle for Microsoft's #2 slot, but I could see Microsoft even getting both in if Ultimate gets a long DLC cycle. Which IMHO seems more likely now that we know Ultimate's become an "ever-green title" and one that's keeping pace with MK8 Deluxe. Either of them would likely bring new Switch and Smash buyers on their own - so I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo (Furukawa) / Sakurai and Microsoft have talked or are talking about them.
AC is in a bit of a weird spot. While it doesn't have (AFAIK) a significant Japanese playerbase, it's also one of the biggest influences on sandbox games. I do consider it Ubisoft's #1 option - provided that Spirits do deconfirm (which is a can of worms on its own). I won't get into that in detail, but my opinion on it is wait until we get word from Sakurai. Ezio's of course the frontrunner amongst the Assassins, and to his advantage he has a previous fighting game appearance in SC5.
Tomb Raider seems like the outlier here, but in these forums Lara's sorta overshadowed by Geno, Sora and 2B. I feel though that Lara's got about as good of a chance as those three - one could make the argument for her being S-E's #3. She's also one of the very, very few video game characters with significant ties to the wider pop culture. The first movie not only established Jolie, it also cemented Lara as a very well known character in Japan. While we shouldn't expect Jolie to be Lara's voice, a lot of people (looking at the potential new buyers because of Lara) are going to equate Tomb Raider with the Hollywood star.*
I could also play Devil's Advocate when it comes to CoD, but only if requested.
If only they weren't under EA's grip I could honestly see the Sims as much more likely than they currently are...

tbh people will say whatever it takes to justify a character. Geno and Bandana Dee fans will try and justify them and I'mma be honest, Bandana Dee is a hard sell for me when it's "he's the last remaining Kirby rep! It's not complete without him!"

I don't answer for anyone other than myself, but the reason I'm not expecting any female characters is that most of the characters I expect are male. Depending on how you look at it, what I said is either moronically redundant or pretty insightful.
But basically aside from Jill I find that every woman people tout as candidates are woefully unlikely, bordering on impossible.
DLC does not equal the Fighter Pass. We may get a dude as Fighter 5 but still get a lass post-Pass. I thought you said you'd still boycott in that case?

I don’t see why it even has to be a political thing though. My eight year old sister much prefers the gals (and the kooky characters like plant) but this doesn’t make her a crafted member of any politics. She vibes better with the gals and it’s one reason I’m personally polling to get some new ones as much as I am. Like it or not each character vibes with people for one reason or another and I don’t see why we have to gatekeep a person’s opinions on the pass in such a rude format. That last part goes the same for those of opposing opinions. I’m positive between the two passes we’ll have enough to make plenty of peeps happy but that’s just my own opinions showing.

It's mostly your expectations. My expectations say that there must be at least one fully-fledged female fighter. This female discussion of mine is an opinion, and to me, it doesn't seem right. You sound like wanting female characters is a pipe dream like Waluigi.

Peopple do whatever it takes to justify THEIR most wanted characters but they will take out a goddamn long list of why your most wanted cant be in the game. Discussion about roster choices became absolute dog**** with Ultimate, but I cant even imagine what it was like in the Brawl days

Here’s a personal suggestion: Take things a bit easier and more calm.
I could imagine some people getting invested about videogames to vent from the real world, but we all should also consider the fact that not everything can be achieved in life.
It is fine to support the characters we like, but always when there’s respect towards other people while doing so.
Just play fair.

The Adol thread doubles as a general Nihon Falcom support thread; Falcom fans are cool with Smash representation of any kind, TBH, and we know there's strength in numbers. The fandom is very united. Sure, we have our favorite characters (some people prefer Estelle Bright, Rean, etc.), but it's all good. One look at the Adol thread here would give you an idea of what I'm talking about; the same Estelle fans in that thread would also be in one dedicated to Estelle lol. The same could be said for Rean and the other protagonists. It is refreshingly chill. It helps that Nihon Falcom just makes literally everyone interesting for no reason. Seriously, they put more love in random NPCs than they have any right to, let alone their protagonists.
You'd think a game celebrating video game history wouldn't overlook women as much as it has.
