The three songs Style Savvy has in Smash is nice so far, but it doesn't quite give the whole picture. I think they could mix in a couple of 'yep, that's magical girl anime' type songs in, but I think they're saving them for a potential reveal because they're not as cutesy/upbeat.

After all, remember in Smash 4 we had one new first-party as part of that run in the form of Corrin? Wondering if it could be the same case here...

If we're going by popularity then most, if not all, of the really popular Nintendo choices are Assist Trophies. That doesn't mean they're impossible obviously but it is something to keep in mind. We don't know if Assist's are deconfirmations on Sakurai's mind or not.

If we're going by advertising then what do we have left for Nintendo until February? Luigi's Mansion 3, Tokyo Morage Sessions, Pokemon... um. I mean yeah it could happen.

On the other hand I think it is decently likely Nintendo throws Geno in as the final curve ball. Since he's somewhat a Nintendo character but is also seen as a bit of an impossibility it could definitely fit.

As much as I would love Geno to be the final pass character, I'm not about to think that's likely at all. I think he fits the idea of an individual character with music better than he does with the standards the season pass has set. I also still believe spirits won't be upgraded to fighters for the season pass itself, due to slight plan overlap, so... nah.

Personally, I'm willing to bet good money on Ryu Hayabusa being the final fighter. I felt he was really likely for the longest, and him being the final pack just feels right to me. Besides, Nintendo tends to not end things on a ridiculously big, fan-demanded BANG, so I wouldn't factor that in as a point in Geno's favor here.

Anyway, This theory is called THE DV THEORY

The Name will make sense after the explanation.


This Theory, if it turns out correct will Explain


-Why they revealed Extra DLC after DLC #4, and not After the Fighter Pass was done

-Would abide by Color theory, if you still believe in it

-Why Something in a Certain Game hasn’t happened yet


Keep in mind that this is a theory. All of this might be true, Only Some of it might be true, Hell None of it might be true, but it’s fun to Speculate


There's TL;DR Below


DLC #5 is gonna be revealed at the game awards. DLC #5 is Dante From Devil May Cry. HOWEVER, his reveal will tie into Vergil being DLC for DMC5...if you are asking why they will tie from Vergil DLC, here’s Why


Vergil Himself will also be playable in Smash Ultimate. He will be the first Extra DLC Fighter, and the 2nd Individual DLC after Piranha Plant. Dante will come with the Music, Stages, and Spirits, and Vergil will just come by himself.

If this theory turns out true, Here are my Predictions for The Movesets of Dante and Vergil


Dante: The Most Complex Character in the roster. Can switch between Styles, and possibly Weapons too (both Devil arms and Guns). Dante won’t have any grabs (well at least normally), His Grab button his instead his Style Action Button. Devil Trigger is a Transformation that can be activated by Shield B. Style Ranking will Play a factor in the moveset, Perhaps the higher ranking you get, the Stronger Dante is. Overall Brings along all the DMC Mechanics too Smash


Vergil: Moveset will Definitely be based around Yamato. He Takes things from Dante, but overall has Different Mechanics. Concentration Meter could play a part in his Moveset. Like Dante won’t have any Grabs, but will have Summoned Swords instead. Judgement Cut End isn’t a Final Smash, but instead an Attack He can use if he has the Right Variables in Place (Concentration Meter about Full, in Devil Trigger). Might have Weapon Switching Like Dante with Force Edge and Beowulf.

Stage would probably be The Tower, Where it’s Raining. Would probably get a Mii Gunner Costume of Lady.

. . .Okay, but honestly. Even without bias (or at least with as little bias as I can muster, with her being my most wanted, lol), she actually still has a decent number of points in her favour. This post I made about half a year ago summarizes the points pretty well.

Anyway, on Geno, I gotta say, I have softened quite a bit on him. Back when the Fighter Pass was all the DLC we would get as far as we knew, I was actively against him, with more clearly limited DLC spots and whatnot. But now, with a vague number, I wouldn't even be opposed to him. Especially with what that would mean for the chances of DLC Mii costume characters.

I'm dreaming of the day I can see these two have a rematch. After all Link being in Soul Calibur II is what got me into the series in the first place.

I honestly didn't expect the outcome when I started reading your post.

It's so crazy but hey, I would like that. Even the part that connects Smash Bros with DMC universe lol.
At least these creative theories are exactly that, creative. And entertaining, at least for me. I can't say that for colour theory and others haha.

Regarding Soul Calibur, it is one of the few franchises I can see that you have a lot of options as to who is added.

1. Nightmare is kind of the mascot and its conflict with Siegried is central to the series, they both possess the central swords to the series which would be great to see
2. Mitsurugi is one of the central characters and pretty much one of the only ones that playable in every entry since Soul Edge. He is also the posterboy for a lot of the entries.
3. Sophitia is in a similar position as Mitsurugi as the postergirl of the series and her family had a major role in V, plus she is one of the known wielders of the Soul Calibur.
4. Xianghua is kind of the protagonist of Soul Calibur although her importance to the plot varies a lot, she still is one of the few characters that uses Soul Calibur
5. Cervantes was the main antagonist of Soul Edge and continues to be one of the most enduring characters in the series, has one of the most unique archetypes ever being a dualwielding zombie pirate plus he can also use the Soul Edge
6. Talim is the most popular character although she doesn't really have that big of a role compared to others

If a Soul Calibur character is added, I only hope they change the weapon skins with the recolors.

My Main Point for this Theory is that there was a reason they revealed Extra DLC After Terry and NOT AFTER THE FIGHTER PASS. The Individual DLC is gonna be connected to the Fifth Fighter

I think Dante was hinted at when they said Dante had to be on a Nintendo Console to be in Smash. I'm sure Capcom had Sakurai known that DMC is coming to Switch well in advance.

Vergil Still not DLC in DMC5. Considering how popular he is, it is kinda sus

Vergil has the Same Exact Body Type as Dante. This doesn't mean he would be an Echo, but it does mean it would be easier to Develop Him for Individual DLC

I dont think they'd pick Siegfried over Nightmare though, at least in the sense of what they did for Hero. I can see Siegfried being the alternate costume

untitled goose would be hilarious,and on a side note on the acronym theory There are also a few more companies Hasbro, HAL Laboratory and even Compile Heart if you want to stretch the theory a bit.

On the contrary, I don't think there's anyone else that would best rep SC other than Nightmare. Project Soul, the dev team behind Soulcalibur, has him on their logo:

Even if this doesn't mean he will be in Smash, it does show that Nightmare is 1 of, if not the most iconic and most recognizable characters from Soulcalibur.

As long as it's SC4 Siegfried. That way, both the Soul Edge and the Soul Calibur are in the game.

He's an evil ******* and the world's hero all in one. I love Soulcalibur too but don't go running down the coolest old man in gaming.
