Hey so

Daemon X Machina Spirits are gonna be added soon

Well that came out of nowhere. Daemon X Machina is now the 2nd non-Nintendo game/series to get spirits added outside of DLC. It looks like there's going to either be 4 or 8 spirit battles in total, so I can't wait to one shot each of them with Little Mac.

Of course we have to bring up how Three Houses and Astral Chain didn't even get spirits added to Smash for their corresponding releases. It certainly makes you think about what they might have in mind for those 2 games in particular...

What do you guys think about battle toads to be super smash bros characters? Im kinda bummed/shocked theres not alot of rallying for those characters, now that banjo kazooie broke the ice, they should be the next retro character like simon and mega man! They are pretty recognizable for having one of the most hardest nes games in gaming culture and , they had alot of fighting moves and ideas that can be transfered into super smash bros. Thier morphing moves would be really unique

Would love them. Rash is a BLAST in the new Killer Instinct and I'm super nostalgic for the old games. Having the Battletoads and Billy/Jimmy Lee back together again in Smash would also be awesome.

She loses the mystery yes, but it still spoils a pivotal and highly emotional turning point in the game’s storyline, additionally Smash spoils the twist that she was actually Chrom’s daughter from a ruined future.

I've softened more on the idea of Astral Chain in Smash. I was initially more against it because of my focus on third parties, and while that hasn't necessarily changed as much, I'm more willing to give unrepresented Nintendo series a place in DLC since it does still technically expand the number of franchises in the crossover and that's always cool haha.

Now that you mention it is somewhat surprising that Rash doesn't have a lot of support even before Banjo was revealed. I saw support for Conker even, but only a handful of people actively asked for the Battletoads.

When you really think about it they'd have a pretty neat moveset with their wacky body proportions during their attacks.

It's probably because they haven't had a game in years except for their newest game (or perhaps remake. I dunno which.) didn't really do much to grab an audience's attention. (It reminds me of those awful cartoon reboots like Thunder Cats Roar! and Teen Titans Go!)

I think they'd fit well. Their mophing moves are perfect for smash attacks.

They have a good shot of being the 2nd Rare rep, but it'll probably be awhile before we get a 2nd Rare rep.

As funny as this may sound, I actually haven't thought about this in a minute. I guess I would have to go with the boy Geno. He'd be the ultimate fan service, there's no doubt of that. He's just obscure enough to be a crazy release, and we all know his moveset would be sick.

Shouts out to Rayman though. Hoodlum Havoc was one of my favorite GCN games back in the day. Crazy to think I live in a world where Rabbids are in Mario Bros. but Rayman isn't in Smash.

The release schedule of games in relation to their spirits has been really screwy. Some have gotten them months before release (Link's Awakening) and others months later (Super Mario Party).

I don't think we can judge what games are being considered based on which get spirit events, but this certainly doesn't lessen Three Houses or Astral Chains chances.

It's totally for advertising. Marvelous needs all the help they can get with DXM since it was released in a pretty bad time slot, only like a week before Zelda and on (I think?) the same day as Borderlands 3. Plus they kept claiming all these youtube videos with footage of the game for who-knows-why, which only hurt exposure for the game.

Also Marvelous only published No More Heroes. It’s not actually their IP no?

Either way I don’t really expect either but I do think people sleep on SoS somewhat because it isn’t the type of game people expect characters from.

I feel like if the DLC really goes on for long, Travis HAS to get in at some point. Now that I'm thinking about it, it's a bit weird how he doesn't even have a spirit. Seems like the kind of character that usually gets one.

The only rumor I know of with that date is a vague rumor that says character 5 is a character that "will simultaneously please and upset the smash community". That alone is basically nothing. I'd post the archive of the post, but there's porn posted in the thread so I'm sure my posting of it would be against the rules here.

Reminder that Dragon Quest XI comes out in 2 days and if you haven't played the Demo then you definitely should. I haven't played a Dragon Quest since VI on the DS but XI's Demo instantly hooked me.

This is a VERY special RPG and is up there with Persona 5, FFVII, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Earthbound in my Top RPG's so far... and I've only played the first part of the game. Trust me, if you like RPG's at all, I'm confident you'll love this one.

I liked what I played of the demo, but I'm way too slammed with work and my backlog to justify picking it up right now. Maybe they'll do a sale in the next few months or something.

Not saying that this can't mean anything, but there's also a relative lack of Xenoblade Chronicles X stuff, and that has yet to amount to anything. I'd like for all these to mean something, but I'm not believing anything until there's more to go off than a lack of something.

Interestingly, Marvelous are already in the games credits because of the use of spirits from The Last Story. Not saying this proves anything either way mind.

Now im really hoping Akira Howard gets in. Im almost done with the game (File 9), but I love it. I know that its made by Platinum, but for a Nintendo owned series its really a great change of pace from the usual Mario and Fire Emblem. I really hope it becomes a mainstay seires like Splatoon has. The Legion could make the Howards a great character. Also Lappy mii costume NOW

Yeah, same.
It's not specially difficult to put some spirits. In the end spirits are basically a .png file with some original battle to represent the spirit.

I still think all DLCs will be 3rd party but if we get Akira and a Three Houses rep I wouldn't be surprised. I would be happy, specially for Akira. Astral Chain is a really good game and I hope it will have his sequel to expand the good things the game does and to solve and improve other aspects.

Talking about Marvelous I don't think anyone thought about Daemon x Machina having a character. And yeah, Travis Touchdown without a spirit was always a bit suspicious and strange. Suda and Sakurai are good friends and all that so a spirit for Travis wouldn't be hard to implement.

Yeah, as someone who really wants Travis and has since Brawl and would be very very happy with a Three Houses rep and Akira Howard, I can't help but hope that all of these things mean something. I'm less hopeful the more time passes about Xenoblade Chronicles X but man, I can dream.

I don't think it truly means anything, but it's definitely an interesting move. No reason for anything to be locks and to be honest I mostly just think it's awesome that we could get gift spirit battles based on upcoming releases. More fun content!
