I know FF music is a licensing nightmare, but is it the same for every FF character themselves?

Wasn't there a post here a while back detailing Maximilian Dood's reaction to Sephiroth's reveal, and one of the things he said was "Final Fantasy VII characters are expensive to license due to how popular they are"?

And 1 of them is almost assuredly the Chocobo hat from Smash 4.

Keep in mind that Mii Costumes take MUCH More Effort to Implement than Spirits and Music, because New Costumes require modeling over the Mii and Rigging and such. There's also the fact that every design detail needs to be Talked with the 3rd party Company. It is a Process

I don't think there be Remixes of the music, But it's definitely possible for there to be more than 2 Music Tracks...hopefully

I'm gonna be blunt. Sephiroth is a fantastic (and surprising) choice for me, but after adding him to the game, I'm assuming that among other things, one of the main reasons for doing so is to improve FF7 representation.

Maybe I'm being really demanding here, but even if the character and the stage end being the best of all DLC so far, I'd be still disappointed if we just got 4-5 spirits, 2-3 tracks and 0 Final Fantasy costumes, for example.

Like I know it's ****ing Sephiroth and all and he's the main attraction of the upcoming Challenger Pack, but I don't know, I'd assume Nintendo would push for including more FF content if they go for another FF rep.

Eeeeh I don't buy that explanation. If Mii Costumes were so difficult to produce, then most waves would only have 2-4 of them. Workload wouldn't really cause an exception like this. EDIT: Especially if said 2 are premade, which is likely the case considering it lines up with the 2 we got last time.

I think the only scenario in which we got only two costumes, but the usual music and Spirits is one in which the devs have qualms about sticking costumes of Final Fantasy VII characters (but not Chocobos) on other characters. Or rather, characters they don't own, as I know that there is a Cloud costume (probably two but I don't actually know) in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. I don't think that's a likely scenario though.

You forgot to take the 'Planned software update: Ver. 9.0.1' and 'Planned software update: Ver. 9.0.2' notifcations into account; those count towards the post numbers. Since those aren't viewable on the news feed I don't actually know which numbers they occupy, but let's just assume they're 104 and 105

That leaves four 10.0.0-related news posts. If Sephiroth is shadowdropped tomorrow, there would be no need for a "Planned software update" notifications, which simply leaves:

• Software update available: Ver. 10.0.0
• Sephiroth Challenger Pack now available for purchase!
• Fighters Pass Vol. 2 available for purchase! (Content update ③)
• (one Mii Fighter costume)

There might be only one mii costume, it's most likely a Chocobo hat to me.

Nah, people will still find a way to say the costumes are still in development. They've held onto it this long, they'll find a way to keep its corpse from decaying.

At this point we might as well expect the spirits to be the summons from the Midgar stage.

If we do get Shaft Enix again, wonder how Sakurai will broach the topic during the presentation.

As a fan of general chaos I think I would enjoy the timeline where Cacomallow is real but we end up receiving neither Geno nor Doom Slayer.

This implies only One Mii Costume. It also Implies that Sephiroth will be Shadowdropped on the Same day also since the "Update is coming Post" has to be factored out otherwise there be no Mii costume

Something is up because I don't think they would pass up a Mii costume wave (even the returning Geno and Chocobo ones) unless SE is super stingy and we end up in the "FF7 gets two characters, 4 songs, and 5 spirits of the Midgar summons" timeline.

Mii costumes are sold separately, so how many we get doesn't matter that much to me anyways. I'm sure this is depressing for people who wanted some FF costumes or SE costumes in general, but that was never a guarantee anyway. Just look at what Banjo came with.

I'm more concerned about the content in the character bundle, and to be perfectly honest, anything close to what Cloud got will be a major letdown. Two songs, a stage, and the smallest number of Spirits out of every character bundle so far would make this a bit underwhelming.

This is strange as hell.

The ONLY logical thing that I can think of would be for them to now of all times merge the Mii outfits "ARE OUT NOW!" into a single post, but that's completely unprecedented.

yeah, I was just thinking that they wouldn't really be able to do the Mii section the same if there really is only 2 costumes, since it'd just come across as awkward...
