Ehuh. I’m not into FF, but from what little I do know, Sephiroth is the single most evil fighter in the game. Ask anybody who has played, and they might be able to back it up.
You're telling me Joker, Snake, or Bayonetta haven't messed with the ratings, but Sephiroth has?

So apparently Sephiroth’s mere presence bumped the game’s ESRB rearing up a notch. Let’s pause and think about what that could mean. Could we see more mature fighters because of it? Probably, probably not.
Meh, I dunno why I’m rambling about it now, it’s 4 in the morning over here.
it did? i thought the T was just advertising FFVII, like they did with the Dragon Quest presentation, im like 99% sure the base game is still rated E10+

they just gotta show the T for the character's associated game

Tbh, the only rules that is crucial and definitely have been kept strong is that Assist Trophy became a fighter in the next game, I didn't make this up because it has been shown 3 times that it happened with Little Mac being an Assist in Brawl but became a fighter in Smash 4 and Isabelle and Dark Samus being an assist in Smash 4 became a fighter in Ultimate. It's just that people always call this fan-rule just because they really have to hear it from Sakurai when 3 pattern isn't enough to justify them.
It wasn't the right time to make any AT a DLC fighter during those eras. Brawl couldn't support DLC, and complaints about ATs didn't reach their peak during the Smash 4 era. But then again, neither did AT apologism and acting like something with 3 moves has the same amount of work as something with 25.

Wait you're being serious? The rating actually went up because of/after Sephiroth was announced?

Where did you see this? What's the rating now?

He's hardly done anything to warrant the rating going up other than take off his shirt lol

Something I've dreamed about is characters who have a personalized kill/K.O. animation for each individual fighter such as Monokuma's Executions
I mean I can see Monokuma/Naegi have a Final Smash where each character go through different punishment but less brutal and more cartoony i.e Peach getting crushed by a giant birthday cake similar to the intro for New Super Mario Bros Wii or trapping Pit's soul into a ring while Monokuma possesses his body and crushing it.

If you're referring to the "E10+ - T" at the beginning of his trailer, I'm assuming that's just due to showing the Final Fantasy logo

It's standard procedure at this point. Also happened with Hero, Terry, Byleth and Min Min's (assumingly due to Tekken) presentations.

If anything, Mewtwo fills the role of the hidden superboss, like in most JRPGs at the time. At the very least in Red/Blue.

There was really nothing telling you to go to Cerulean Cave, and to even learn about Mewtwo you'd have had to read completely optional material. That, and the fact it was the highest leveled creature in the game screams "Hidden boss".

....granted, this concept doesn't really work well in Pokemon, when you can end the boss fight instantly with a Master Ball.
Yeah but do you think most kids had the self control to save that master ball lol

7 in the morning...what is going on with the characters?
This is what sleeplessness does to someone

to me at least...

It’s not easy getting over the loss of a family member so that could be a contributor to my sleeplessness...

I don't know. I have a gut feeling that Min Min maybe our last Nintendo character. I can't really explain it because when I try to, I don't say what I mean but ARMS is the last of Nintendo's main franchises that they have left to represent.

Then again I just want more third party characters because I was already satisfied with First Party characters back in Brawl.
I think we've definitely got one more down the pipeline, even if it's just the obligatory Corrin/Byleth character to represent a game that released during the second Fighter's Pass.

As far as any other first parties, I think it really could go any way. If cut content theory is true, then we could reasonably see the rest of the pack being first-party, depending on what Sakurai was considering for Ultimate's base game. However, I could just as easily see FP9 and FP10 being third parties.

Depends on whether or not Alucard will get promoted, and that depends on whether or not Nintendo thinks we need two characters associated with the PS1 in the same pass, and if Sakurai can fill out a Castlevania challenger pack when it's not in FF7's situation.

I mean they have Xenoblade Chronicles 2, but the Rex Mii Costume is a strange hurtle.

I see the /s at the end, but I still cannot get over how Sakurai intentionally made Sephiroth this sexy in a party game.

It... the mind boggles lol.
Sakurai likes his men muscular/ripped, just look at older Ike (specially compared to his youger self), Chrom, Simon, Richter, Ryu, Ken and so on. Even Cloud and Snake seem more buff here than in their original games.

Wario has details on his arm muscles too in Smash.

The Reason for KOS-MOS over Rex is probably the Same reason for Min-Min over every other character, because the Creator wanted that character in

Plus KOS-MOS has gotten around in More Games than Rex, so She's been more exposed to larger audiences than Rex has. There's also the Different Moveset Potential and Potential Implementation that differ between the Characters. There's more but that's the General gist
Besides, KOS-MOS's series is dead, and declared not profitable enough to warrant a remaster. It's like if they put Morrigan from Darkstalkers in Smash 4 instead of Ryu. I think that Namco Bandai would rather want to put in one of their more relevant and successful characters.

Feel like KOS-MOS getting in would be like getting Morrigan after Ryu (in this case, Pac-Man fro Namco).

You get the poster boy first, then the poster girl of crossover second.

And while Xenosaga is over, Xenoblade is basically it's successor & KOS-MOS did apparear in 2, so she ain't that irrelevant compared to others characters. (she's still getting merchandise to this day)

There’s also Project X Zone 1 & 2. She met Ryu, Ken, Chrom and Lucina for Smash’s playable cast, and Fiora and Mega Man Zero for the non playables

Yes, I'm replying to you again, but I've forgot to mention: The "hype quota" seems to be filled out at a certain point in reveals that lines up with Sephiroth. He seems to be this pass's equivalent to the August 8 Direct and the Hero/Banjo dual reveal. We've gotten two major hype things (E3 and 8/8 Directs, Joker and Hero or Banjo depending on who you are, and now Steve and Sephiroth) with each cycle, and then it goes downhill.

The cynic in me says were getting a First Party at the end of the pass if only because having a big 3rd Party at the tail end probably won't do much in terms of moving Fighter Pass sales at that point in the game. Doesn't DLC like this usually sell the most during the first few days/week of availability?

Yeah was thinking of that too, tho PXZ2 was in 2015, so I wasn't sure if it was still "relevant" for some.

But yeah, KOS-MOS already crossed over with other Nintendo/Capcom/Sega characters, so it's not like Smash would be any different.

It just occurred to me even though several people already pointed it out: the wait time for Steve and Sephiroth was much shorter than expected, which makes me really confident that the second season was in fact assembled/greenlit in 2019 just like Imran Khan said.

I can't think of any other reason for the massive 6 month timegap betwen Byleth (last character of first season) and Min Min (first character of second season), other than season 2 not having entered production until the second half of last year.

I don't think anyone's expecting a character from an indie direct for a change since Sephiroth is coming up. At most someone might jokingly comment "That's it, no Smash?"
Never underestimate the stupidity of Smash fans, after all, there are still people who think a video that was debunked after 2 weeks could still be real a literal year later

I just want a Project X Zone 3 already, maybe throw in Joker if Sega decides to include Atlus

you know what hecc it throw in Konami and Square Enix and maybe SNK too to further the connection to Smash - Cloud, Hero, Sephiroth, Snake, the Belmonts, Terry...

I heard one of the lead programmers of the series left but I hope someone else can take the reins
