I had a dream that I was watching Sephiroth's Mii costume lineup, and the only ones I can remember seeing were:

• Tails (again)
• Pixelated Wario -- the Mii costume somehow looked like a GBA sprite of Wario, and the splash screen before showing the costume said "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate x OLD MARIO"

So yeah I hope everyone's ready for GBA Wario from the OLD MARIO franchise on Thursday

I'm curious about the Miis because Tifa, Barret, Chocobo and Geno are the obvious choices and I wonder what others remain in this pack Lloyd I might as well mention now I was lowkey expecting an RPG character since he was next in line after Heihachi and Gil

And in any case, something tells me Yaldabaoth isn't quite in the running for another Persona rep. I know Ridley showed size is malleable when it comes to Smash, but Yaldy is like twice the height of a skyscraper in his only appearance.

I think the main takeaway from Sephiroth isn't that we'll get third-party villains specifically, but that additional unique characters from third-party franchises in general are now on the table.

Shido or Dr. Maruki are much more likely if we'd get a Persona 5 villain rep, and that's not happening.

Not really Sony reps, but Sephiroth and Crash are coming.
The remainings are these two and Reimu from Touhou and KOSMOS from Xenosaga.
The lineup is trying way too hard to play to the crowd so it won't be pretty.
Unfortunately, there won't be any promotions from Mii costumes.

What are your top 3 reveal trailers?
For me:

#1 Min Min for its awesome build up, pacing, humor, editing, music cues, stylized CGI, "plot"... its all there and its all so good.

#2 Bowser Jr. still has the most epic reveal trailer to me. Sephiroth's was cool but I felt more of a genuine "struggle" in Bowser Jr's. And just when the team thinks it can't get any worse, in comes the Koopalings. Its so damn epic man.

#3 Roy might sound like an odd pick but its the only Smash reveal to this day that has gotten me to laugh out loud. It's such clever usage of gameplay only footage. You can tell the devs had a crazy ass fun time making it. Its the most "fun" Smash reveal in my opinion.

Idk, it could potentially be Eggman and Tails. They could be echoes/alts of one another. And sega don’t seem to be greedy at all when it comes to their characters so I wouldn’t be surprised. Not sure if I would want Tails represented that way though.

1- Squirtle. I'll even count him twice because I had no hope of him returning in Ultimate. It made SO much sense, and I absolutely loved him. Back in those days before trailers, where I'd update my computer all night.

2- Banjo. It was just... well made. And the love those Rare characters had for Banjo was tangible. It was why I love gaming, and how it brings so much joy to people.

3- Ridley. I knew K Rool by the footsteps- but Ridley was a genuine shock. It also was just so badass.

Honorable mentions:

• Duck Hunt, but was ruined by the ESRB leak
• Pac Man, who was leaked by choice in a conference.

Side note to OP: When I saw the Koopalings, the Power Rangers theme started playing in my head. I'm actually working on a commissioning for a piece that is a hybrid of the Kids on the mountain and a hybrid the Zords.

They could be... but it would be odd to so many know who Tails more from classic days.

Honestly, a FP3 isn't happening at all.

Like, 12 DLC characters is a LOT of DLC characters. In comparison, Smash 4 only had half that number, and half of them were returning veterans.

Sakurai put in tremendous effort in the pass, I think the group is likely going to be done.

Plus, Ultimate isn't a brand new game anymore. Its player base is still massive, but it was not the same when Ultimate was brand new.

Sakurai did make it clear that there would be no more DLC after FP2, and I never heard Sakurai say this during FP1.

Much like someone else said, I dont think it's good to look so far ahead to a hypothetical when we have 3 unknowns ahead of us. But a fp3 is definitely possible. Just because someone says it's the end, somehow doesnt mean it is the end.

This is probably assuming the hypothetical moveset's based on SA2, in which the only differences were that Eggman got an extra upgrade and Tails had absolute trash level design

This is hard.
#1 Sephiroth for the sheer unexpectedness. I had written him off completely & was in utter disbelief when I heard One-Winged Angel start playing. His trailer is also really cool & has Mario being impaled.

#2 Steve as he is my 2nd most wanted character of all time & I was not expecting him to be announced during that trailer; my expectation was subverted when I heard the skeleton sound. The only reason he isn’t number 1 is because I really thought Steve was a realistic pick for FP2. I was elated when he was announced, I wish everyone could feel like how I did.

#3 Piranha Plant because it was the most I had ever laughed for anything Smash related. If you couldn’t tell, I love surprises. Definitely the most unexpected newcomer for me - with Sephiroth second. I thought he was an item at first & just shouting “NO! He’s not a character” while dying of laughter.

Honourable Mentions: Inklings, Ridley & Cloud

Just sharing my thoughts on everything that happened within the last 24+ hours:

-Sephiroths trailer was, to put it simply: amazing. That was one of the best trailers smash ever had. Brawls reveal trailer and will alway be my
favorites but...wow... they went all out with this one. And Banjo-Kazooie having a cameo in it was even better (they look so good....)
-i have no idea how Sephiroths "wing gimmick" will work and i can't wait to see his full moveset.
-the stage looks awesome! Already looking forward to that one and especially:
-the music! Final Fantasy will leave the 2-song-gang (sorry Mr. Game & Watch) but what will we get and of course how much?
Using the Advent Children-version of one-wingend-angel was awesome but im unsure, if this will be used in the game
(remember: Hero used orchestral versions for the trailer only). Im cautiously optimistic that we get at least a handful of songs...but we have to wait and see
-Sephiroth is, like Cloud, not dubbed into english. A shame, but it was obvious this would happen to any other FF-character
-Im unsure how Clouds "new final smash" will work. I think it might be exclusive to his Advent Children costume.
-i think the release date will be a few hours after the presentation...and i can't watch it because it is like 11 pm in germany...
-and of course, we are one character away and this will be canon:

I mean, I will say that this reveal was completely different to me- as it's the only trailer I didn't catch live. I think that softened the blow of Sephiroth- who was no where on my 120 line list- but still has earned a great space in the video game pantheon.

Though it did feel like a kick in the balls to my want for Lara and Sora.

I forgot to mention Inkling- but that was more about their being another Smash, for me.
Well that, and the EPIC fireball eye shot. I wish that had been the motif they used for Ultimate. It was legend.

I'm not sure what my favorite reveal trailers are. Every time a new character is revealed I go and watch every single one for Ultimate. Silly little ritual of mine.

Every trailer is chock full of that smash goodness; every loving reference is a great time pointing out. It's the "ah ha!" Factor from spirit mode but dialed up to 11. Seeing erdrick pick up a barrel for a "tinymedal' and go through poison for a cool sword was dope. Min min terry and sephiroth are some top tier reveals.

They literally are that in Sonic Adventure 2. So the logic is there. They've been legitimately clones before.

I disagree with the idea, but Eggman in his machine could have alts using some other characters, including Mecha Sonic(who has used his vehicles in Sonic & Knuckles), Eggman Nega, his cartoony design(compared to his more darker version), and even his Boom design. As long as the proportions are the same.

However, Tails outright would have a smaller head, so he at best could only be an Echo if we're talking Mech only stuff. Tails really doesn't make sense as an Echo otherwise, as his proportions are very different from Sonic's. He'd make a fine clone/semi-clone, since they easily share some abilities. Only Metal Sonic and Shadow actually work decently as Echoes for Sonic. Silver, Amy, Knuckles, Blaze, and Tails(not saying these in a particular order) all can easily use Sonic as a base. Though admittedly Blaze is the most different, but she was literally designed to be similar to Sonic anyway.

Tails HAS been an echo before, but it would... be an odd choice. He is known as being Sonic's player two- it would be odd for them to be so different.

Meanwhile, especially given Sonic's moveset, I could see him as an echo of Sonic, with a single different more of two for variation.

I admit I wasn't that sold on Kos-Mos at first, but as time passed I've become more open to the idea and now I think she would be cool to see in Smash. Not to mention that a certain friend of mine keeps ****posting about her on discord so much that I want to see her get in just to see their reaction.
