Thinking Monster Hunter is any likelier now than they were half a year ago is indicative of how little we've learned about third-party inclusions.

I still can't get over MH having a designated area in WoL but not a single spirit outside of Rathalos.

Though I think they probably could've repurposed the Ancestral Steppe into an actual stage. But idk. Time and money I guess.

personally i don't think rise affects the hunter's chances that much but that's because i think they were already very likely before. although i don't think they'll have much from rise. maybe a skin or something small.

Some "leaker" called hotgirlsvideos69 posted a blurred picture claiming it's the next fighter. People analyzed the pixels of the picture to theorize on which character could it be from the colors and whatnot. The realization that the "leak" was probably blurred porn then kicked in over everyone.

If Capcom is getting a character, though, I don't think I'd mind most of the choices. Dante and Zero are two of my most wanted, Phoenix Wright seems funny (if a bit unconventional for Smash), Arthur and Firebrand seem cool, Monster Hunter and Resident Evil kind of warrant a fighter at this point (that doesn't necessarily mean that they're in), and I wouldn't mind more Street Fighter. I don't know jack about Darkstalkers, Viewtiful Joe, or Okami, but they seem cool enough.
