No, just no. That's like saying Sora is perfect for a Mii costume. It's a discredit to his fanbase if you did that. They'd rather just have them not appear in the game at all if that was the case.

I'm gonna be blunt here but there's little in the speculation scene that's as entitled as "This is disrespectful!", the only people saying that are people who are too invested in certain characters, as if it was actually disrespectful, the deals would have never gone through.

I agree with Gwen on the substance, not the form. Saying that Geno is good for Mii Deluxe is as disrespectful for his fans that saying Isaac is good enough locked in AT status for his fans or Shantae should be glad enough to exists as spirit for her fans. One who don't care about Isaac, and who won't care about his status, could argue with me, sincerely, with well-founded arguments and without any bad motive, that he thinks Isaac got enough with his AT. I, as a die-hard fan, could only disagree, and I may see that as disrespect, but is it really disrespect?

I may be confronted with ideas different from mine on this thread. I may disagree with Isaac detractors, but in the end it's an opinion, and it has no impact on the final product. If I couldn't hear differing opinions, I would stay with people who share my opinion, in Isaac's thread. Someone thinking genuinely that Isaac should stay an AT is not necessarily showing disrespect.

I feel like I'm poking a bear with this one, but I feel like I need to say this.

This is the part @BananaSlammer probably felt insulted by. Maybe it wasn't targeted specifically at him (it wasn't, right?) but I can see how he'd feel like he was being attacked here.

That makes sense and I felt it was fairly obvious it wasn't directed to him judging by the other examples I used, but my blunt manner of speech has gotten me in trouble before lmao. If he wants to block me, let him

Gwen wasn't actually being rude, but the issue with being blunt is that it comes off a lot meaner than intended to many people. It's obvious she was not remotely trying to insult anyone(and she has had a habit of flaming others, but this was not remotely the case here).

People can say things poorly without intending to be rude or flaming others. We make that mistake sometimes. It happens. What people need to realize is that they do generally have a point, despite the poor way they said it.

Costumes, AT's, these are not nor ever were insults. They're there as fanservice for the fans and the characters. Sakurai and Nintendo cannot please literally everyone. Some are going to get roles beyond playable. And that's okay. They're not even "consolation prizes" at that point. They're just nice roles.

My opinion, that said, of the Deluxe Geno costume is that if Geno isn't playable, it's a huge step up since it made the costume look way better and very likely will come with music. That's a major win in my book, getting more SMRPG content as is. There's no doubt the original costume was awkward due to not having an actual official face, but just using the Mii face as normal. A lot of costumes suffered from that. Honestly, Deluxe is an amazing thing and the best option if they can't outright be playable. The only reason I'd want the old costume back is if we still have a playable Geno. Otherwise, just give us the better version with some music. It's way more worth it than the mediocre(at best) version of the costume.

I don't think saying a character could be a mii costume is necessarily a disrespectful thing as long as it's said like "I think this character could work as a Mii costume" or "I'm okay with this character being a Mii costume", and not something like "NOPE, MII COSTUME IS THE ONLY THING THIS CHARACTER COULD OR SHOULD GET" or something like that.

Why bother updating Geno's mii costume when they can just port over the Smash 4 one? Never liked this Deluxe costume idea for Geno, it's silly.

I assume because you want him to be playable.

But if he's not gonna be I'd much rather he got a better costume and a music track than his old crappy one.

Therein lies your problem.

You consider a Mii Costume to be some kind of insult. Instead of a more realizable level of recognition that Sakurai intends it to be.

Normalizing the behaviour by virtue of consistency doesn't negate how unnecessarily caustic it is.

Well im not gonna touch on this current argument too much, but i just simply dont see the logic for a deluxe geno mii. Imo the evidence just aint there. Amd from the perspective of someone whos most wanted is geno, i would absolutely despise an upgraded mii costume, like, i would absolutely hate it and I would be salty for the rest of smash dlc

And if we do end up getting a general direct then i think fp7 is guaranteed to show up, and if its a mini direct then im still like 75% sure

As much as I want Geno as a character, I'd be more than pleased with him just getting a deluxe costume. It's straight up the best possible outcome if he's not one of the lucky remaining five. Geno in particular has the advantage of being perfectly suited for a Mii - he has matching proportions and fits one of the archetypes + he would bring some music as well, maybe even more than one track?
I feel like if the only notable achievement my most wanted has made within the history of video games is "Being a big fan request for Smash" I don't really have the right to get mad over him not getting included in one of the biggest crossovers of all time, especially when space is this limited.

Ive always been a little curious/confused about a hollow knight deluxe costume. I mean i havent finished hollow knight(im a little stuck and get a little frustrated when i need to walk through half the whole map just to get my life/soul thing back) but i dont really think the knights proportions really fit a mii fighter much at all. Like a helmet would be awesome but whenever i picture a full suit it just feels cursed

On a more serious note, I think it could work, but not as well as Sans or Vault Boy. Wouldn't mind that wig, though.

I can't imagine a Steve mii costume without seeing the limbs clip into each other but I think that's a scenario where it's more likely to be done right than wrong. Steve as a fighter could be great if they do it correctly but then I just see them giving him a sword and calling it day.

A Rayman Mii costume would be pretty cool. Mii brawler does most of the attacks that I see Rayman do like a Forward Smash being like a charge up punch and the forward air being similar to Rayman's aerial kick.

I would love a Yooka Laylee Brawler costume. It's just a shame that it's become an obscure series because the first game wasn't well received. The impossible lair is really good.

As for other characters you haven't mentioned yet, what about Trace from Axiom Verge as a Mii gunner?

It's true that I want him as a full character for a lot of reasons, but just looking at him it's clear that his proportions don't fit a Mii fighter.
