Porky, Kraid, Gruntilda, Dr Eggman & Akuma would all be awesome. Especially if Akuma is a secret fight like in SF2.You know, on the topic of bosses, what two bosses do you wanna see if we get two more? My picks are Porky and Grima (the latter has you fighte Fell Robin on dragon Grima's back).
He’s probably not happening but I think Doom Slayer would have a good chance at doing this. Doom: Eternal is full of love for both the entire Doom series & iD’s other games. I’d have loved to see that in Smash.Let’s be honest the best DLC represented so far was Terry I am hoping for another DLC being represented perfectly as Terry was.
And what I mean by “perfectly” is representing entire company’s history much as possible.
With the exception of Reimu, im pretty sold on this Pass.Welp, I've laid out my prediction for this pass. Mainly based around promoting characters in some way, though a couple stick out like Byleth did.
I'd go more in-depth with them, but I guess I'm just not in the mood.
- Min Min-We know this already. Not much more to say. Moving on.
- Reimu Hakurei-Would have been the opener had COVID not shoved everything back. Since Japan's beginning to get everything back under control, CP7 would be the most logical choice for her. Represents indie games, as well as being absolutely massive in Japan.
- Rex-The other "Darnit, too late" character after an ARMS rep, and unlike them, he's explicitly the protagonist, and not just the guy on the box. He'd come fairly soon, as to ride the XCDE hype train while he still can. Chances are he'll be revealed alongside Reimu.
- Rayman-An Ubisoft rep, one of the most popular third-party Spirits, and a consistent collectible. He'd be revealed in the middle, as a Banjo-esque Western hype bringer.
- Bandana Waddle Dee-Aside from being a Spirit, he's also a promoted enemy character, as well as a rep for a fairly underrepresented series. He'd be like Byleth is that he'd be pushing a new Kirby game, but would be revealed about half a year later, after everyone knows about it.
- Lloyd Irving-Because we need a Bamco rep eventually. Placed at the end to subvert the tendency of "low notes" at the end, as well as because I couldn't find any potential reason to place him anywhere else.
For 's Classic Mode from 0.0-9.8 the boss should be M. Bison; 9.9 starts with Akuma's Raging Demon on M. Bison then you fight Akuma instead.Especially if Akuma is a secret fight like in SF2.
I could see a Gen 8 Pokémon getting a lot of flack and maybe, Waluigi or Geno if they were to get in.I do gotta ask
do you guys think there will be a character in FP2 that good amount of people dislike, like with Byleth. Min-Min, while not the most hype character, certainly isn't hated much, and is pretty cool for people. however there is a trend of the Ending of the pass not being as good as the beginning
there was a topic on Gamefaqs that talked about this, so I'm wondering how you guys feel about this too. How much Relatively worse can the pass get for people going from Min-Min
I don't believe they'd end Vol 2 with another Pokemon, but I can already tell you there will probably be a great amount of people that find a Gen 8 Pokemon underwhelming and disappointing. Would they be even more divisive than Byleth is a question that can only be answered when they reveal what Pokemon gets chosen.I do gotta ask

I'd guess and say the next three characters will probably be most exciting for a majority of fans. I do think they'll likely save the least exciting for last if history repeats itself. I don't think there's ever been a time when Smash ended with someone who was almost universally loved.I do gotta ask

I think he'd be more like Hero or Terry: ****storms around this community and places like r/smashbros, but the Sakurai Presentation still gets over 90% likes.Waluigi

As for how hated that character will be, well, we'll just have to wait and see. Byleth set the bar pretty low though, so I struggle to picture someone getting a worse reaction than him.
Yeah, I agree that Terry is the best represented DLC character by far. If I have to mention a franchise or company that they could add that can be similar to how they represented Terry....it probably would be with Arc System Works if they add someone like Sol Badguy. Guilty Gear and BlazBlue are damn near inseparable and they both are Arc System Works main cash cows (aside from FighterZ) and BlazBlue being the spiritual successor to Guilty Gear. They are also known for their music, which they can easily include a few BlazBlue tunes if Guilty Gear were to make it. There are even hints that they take place in the same universe.Let’s be honest the best DLC represented so far was Terry I am hoping for another DLC being represented perfectly as Terry was.

Joker and Banjo and hero had the potential to represent rareware and Altus and Enix history but they didn’t bring anything.
I was thinking about this earlier today actually. Between Sakurai's interviews about how Ultimate seems impossible to top, FP2 ending around the time R&D will be beginning on the Switch's successor, and how the Switch's best selling game is a deluxe port, everything seems to line up a little too nicely.I'm pretty sure we're gonna get a Smash Ultimate DX version for whatever comes after the Switch honestly. Expect new modes there. Not for Ultimate.
Who would hate another Link? Especially if it's Ocarina of Time Adult Link?Your imagination holds you back.
Another Fire Emblem character
A Gen 8 Pokemon to the Smash fanbase in particular
Phone-game rep(Fate/Dragalia Lost/etc)
A Mario character who isn't Waluigi/Geno/Toad/Paper Mario
Another Link
Etc
People already complain about both there being:Who would hate another Link? Especially if it's Ocarina of Time Adult Link?
Tempted to say a Gen 8 Pokémon, but I feel like Pokémon’s massive fanbase would be enough to overshadow most of the negative feedback. If there was any backlash, the onslaught of “hoes mad” would push them underground.I do gotta ask

I don’t think it matters honestly because people don’t hate Byleth for those reasons they hate him because he’s Fire Emblem. No matter who it was from Fire Emblem they would’ve gotten hate. Same with Pokémon I feel. It’s Pokémon who already has, what, 10 characters? People will be annoyed no matter what Pokémon.Should we get a Gen 8 Pokemon, I think the response will largely depend on which Pokemon Sakurai chooses.
If it's someone like Cinderace or Urshifu, then I could see a lot of people getting upset that "the obvious shill pick" got in. If it's someone a little different from what we've been getting, then I think the response will be a fair bit better.
Honestly not just Link, imagine if it was another Zelda. I think these scenraios please no one, not even the Zelda Community, since alot of them want someone that's not apart of the trioPeople already complain about both there being:
A: Too many Links
and
B: No non-Triforce users
Imagine the backlash we'd get if they pulled another ARMs scenario of "We're adding a new Zelda character!".... and it's just Link. Again. 4 Links.
I could see a hypotheoretical CoD character getting a lot of flak for "stealing Crash's spot" as well as the series' general reputation to outsiders not having improved since the Advanced / Infinite War days.I do gotta ask

Watch FP11 be yet again another Fire Emblem character.I do gotta ask

"Best kept secret" or "greatest fear"?Byleth was kind of a special kind of storm. An 8th FE character was the worst case scenario for a lot of people, to the point where “another ****ing Fire Emblem character” was a meme every time newcomers were brought up. Then it actually happened. Right at the tail end of a Season Pass filled with 3rd party favorites, after being hyped up as Sakurai’s best kept secret.
I think those people are mostly reserved to the hardcore Smash fanbase. Incineroar was a worst-case scenario for a lot of people, but its reception wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be (especially since the Grinch leak riled everyone up).I don’t think it matters honestly because people don’t hate Byleth for those reasons they hate him because he’s Fire Emblem. No matter who it was from Fire Emblem they would’ve gotten hate. Same with Pokémon I feel. It’s Pokémon who already has, what, 10 characters? People will be annoyed no matter what Pokémon.
If they put Ryu Hayabusa they can include content from Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive series.Let’s be honest the best DLC represented so far was Terry I am hoping for another DLC being represented perfectly as Terry was.

A character that turns out be a semi-clone. I guess a character like Octoling if you want a specific anwer.I do gotta ask

I'm not caught up one what EA owns, what EA characters could we possibly get?I could see a hypotheoretical CoD character getting a lot of flak for "stealing Crash's spot" as well as the series' general reputation to outsiders not having improved since the Advanced / Infinite War days.
EA could be a massive can of worms, and they would be the most contentious third party possible IMHO. IIRC EA doesn't have a large presence in Japan either, which just adds to the potential firestorm. Any potential flak from Konami's involvement was neutered by Snake headlining "Everyone is here!" but EA would not have any such luxury. There are a few characters that could soothe the reception somewhat, but none of EA's characters would be immune.
As far as first party, yeah I'm agreeing with the overall consensus. But a Mario character that isn't Waluigi / Geno would draw a lot of flak. Extra so if the character's new and / or promotional.
I will bet 100% sure we are safe from a Fire Emblem character this pass. there's no new game in development to my knowledge. the only scenario where i could see another one is if we got Lyn, but as much as she's cool, there are other Assists more people want to see promotedWatch FP11 be yet again another Fire Emblem character.
"I played Chain of Memories once on the GBA so ok/10."Speaking in terms of fan reaction, how do you think non-Sora wanters would react to Sora if he got in? My guess is that a vocal minority of fans will throw a hissy fit because "Disney isn't video games! Grrr!" or "Just another anime sword fighter! I hate anime! Grrr!"
*laughs in Fire Emblem Heroes*I will bet 100% sure we are safe from a Fire Emblem character this pass. there's no new game in development to my knowledge.
I'd think Nintendo would think Byleth would also cover the FEH crowd.*laughs in Fire Emblem Heroes*
Some notable ones they own are Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Plants vs. Zombies, Crysis, Unravel, and Dead Space. If we're getting a character (or anything else like Mii Fighter costumes and Spirits) from an EA game, I imagine it'd be someone from one of those.I'm not caught up one what EA owns, what EA characters could we possibly get?
Rootmars or Evil Spirit Incarnate from Metal SlugYou know, on the topic of bosses, what two bosses do you wanna see if we get two more? My picks are Porky and Grima (the latter has you fighte Fell Robin on dragon Grima's back).
About as much as any other character who doesn't have spirits.I've played it.
You think a guy who can't even get Spirits has any chance?
Just two? Erhm... not counting Porky or Rayquaza, who would be returning bosses, or some form of "unlock Ridley" fight, like with Giga Bowser or Ganon....You know, on the topic of bosses, what two bosses do you wanna see if we get two more? My picks are Porky and Grima (the latter has you fighte Fell Robin on dragon Grima's back).
You also forgot Command & Conquer and Titanfall. They seem to be wanting to do to the latter what Min Min is doing for ARMS by finally releasing Titanfall 2 on Steam. Which I always found weird they never did, since it uses Valve's Source engine and a documentary on 1 was released there. Some notable ones they own are Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Plants vs. Zombies, Crysis, Unravel, and Dead Space.
