Oh **** yeah, speaking of ARMS, what the hell is the Spirit Board for that series going to be? Or are they not gonna get one?

There's still 10 other characters without Spirits, as well as Hedlok and Biff.

There's a pretty decent selection of spirits they could add, especially for the DLC picks.

To my knowledge, I believe Master Mummy, Mechanica, Dr. Coyle, Misango, Max Brass, and Kid Cobra at the least do not have Spirits.

Nah I think they will either just reuse the old ones along with the new ones or just be entirely new. There's certainly enough characters for just one spirit board.

Honestly including the ARMS rep itself I'm expecting this Pass to have 2 or 3 1st part characters.

Those that has the best chances are an Gen 8 Pokemon, BotW2 character and Paper Mario. Honestly don't expect an Xenoblade rep since Nintendo is choosing the latter two would be chosen due to promotion and Pokemon, well being what it is doesn't need anything.

If you claim that Nintendo only adds characters for promotion, a Xenoblade character would be more likely as a new game was released in the same time period as the game of FP6.

Except the way I'm seeing it this is an means of promotion as Nintendo wants ARMS to be more noticeable.

Plus Spring Man supposedly was considered for Base Roster so now that they have an second Pass in the works they're finally deciding to add him and being probably the only exceptional assist to be promoted due to that reason.

Then again they could do the same with Rex as well.

False. It's not Fire Emblem, so it won't get in as a shill pick. This is clearly a case of "revealed too late to matter."



Still, I'm not counting on a heavy first-party pass here. They know the 3rd parties are the ones that drive the views. I doubt we're getting more than 3, and I'm not really expecting any promotions after (possibly) Springo except maybe Waluigi, and even then I doubt he'd be an entire character pack - he might come with a stage from a different franchise (or Mario Kart). I could see them throwing Waluigi a bone at the end and making him an extra character, but that's highly unlikely.

I'm interested to see if we'll get any Zelda content though. Even though there are people who say that Zelda's good with 6 characters, nobody can deny that those characters are all very cloney and not entirely true to the games, and the amount of content they have relative to their importance is really lacking (remember when BotW came out and it had an attachment rate of over 100%, as in everyone who owned a Switch had the game, plus a significant number of people who had the game but were still waiting to buy a Switch).

But that's the perennial question - who? Even if Zelda and Link do a trade-off playability, a playable BotW Zelda would be a bit of a letdown for me since we don't need a roster of Link, Link-in-a-cartoon, Link-as-a-kid, Zelda, Zelda-with-short-hair, Zelda-in-disguise, Falcondorf. Zelda has some great side characters, and some of them should get a chance to shine.

...or, you know, at least give the Dorf a villainous victory theme, like pretty well every other villain on the roster...

Even if it wasn't confirmed, why would they suddenly decrease the content in the passes?

It's not like Spirits are hard to add and slapping a second page to DLC Spirits shouldn't be a problem.

It's possible that Nintendo also wants Xenoblade to be more noticeable. They did it with Fire Emblem, it wouldn't be a surprise. Also, Rex pretty much got an apology for not being playable. Why wouldn't they decide to add him, too?

All that's been said is that Paper Mario seems more likely, which is understandable because a new game was announced only a few hours ago.

Skullgirls and Them's Fighting Herds are getting featured as well. They're not part of the main event, but that's still a crazy turn of events.

There are turn based battles, and it seems like the jump and hammer abilities are separate from items, so it could still be good. More information is needed of course. Preferably in English.

The Tournament of Champions is still on the schedule, so MVC2 is still in.

i wouldn't say she's needed, but Dixie Kong was a hugely missed opportunity entirely. I'm surprised she's not in Smash.

She was close to it though in Brawl as an duo with Diddy.

But yeah I'm surprised too she has yet to be in. One of the last Nintendo All-Stars if anything.

Another I'm surprised about is Lara Croft given her iconness as THE female video game character and how big she was in the 90's though her lack of popularity in Japan could be an factor in that and more people wanting Geno and Sora.

I dunno, Geno may be popular, but since he's competing with Lara Croft, and will probably not appear in anything ever again (aside from Smash cameos), I kinda doubt he's more likely than Paper Mario, who is also quite popular (just not with smash fans, specifically) and is about to have a new game.

I've been thinking Geno has been possible but honestly overtime I feel he's too unlikely at this point as cool as he'd be.

The biggest factor is he comes from an 20+ year game as an side character and hasn't been used since aside from an cameo in the first Mario & Luigi. Doesn't help too that despite his appearance he's 3rd party.

Plus Square is known for their stinginess and if anything I think they'd rather Nintendo use one of their more popular franchises hence why we got Cloud and Hero.

In all honestly as demanded as Geno is I don't see it being as vocal as they and were (For all we know those three were far higher in the ballot and these two were far lower despite their demand), same with Isaac who only made it again as an assist trophy and Mii costume, I suspect if anything he'll become an Mii costume again. I'll admit though I could be wrong and if he does make it, cheers to his fans.

Yes someone may point tobut here's the thing, every Smash game had an tradition to adding at least one or two retro reps.kinda counts for Ultimate.

Since this is the case in terms of an RPG rep, I find Paper Mario to be more likely.

How would he even be an Echo if he plays nothing like Mario?

He has his partners, hammer, and various different abilities we've seen throughout the games.

To be fair, you can say this for literally any character.

I doubt any fan thinks their character will have a boring moveset if they get in unless they root for a clone or something.

It would be a lot harder to make Paper Mario an Echo than it would be to make him fully unique.

His proportions are different, he's made of paper and should be significantly lighter, and Paper FLUDD doesn't even exist.

It's physically impossible for him to be an echo. You can't model-swap a 2D character with a 3D one.

Lara's in a weird spot where nothing significant would disqualify her, but aside from her major status as a well known video game character, she just doesn't have an immediate hook like others do.

-Been on Nintendo consoles, but not exactly a staple of them either
-Decent potential for moveset, yet nothing groundbreaking
-Somewhat unique design, however she isn't as distinct as others might be
-A series that still sells well, though not as huge as a Halo, KM, or Final Fantasy
-Stages and songs that would be fine, albeit not as memorable as numerous others

She's be a fine addition to the roster; its just that to a lot of people she doesn't get a reaction beyond "Oh that'd be cool."

My most wanted Mario rep is Pauline because of nostalgia value for Mario vs Donkey Kong.

I feel she would use her items from the DK arcade and the Minis for her moveset.
