Bombs are fire according to the game as seen with Fire/Explosion Resist

It's a bit weird with the Explosion classification since Fire is an active property while explosive is a passive one. Mainly because explosive items automatically explode if hit by fire.

Hell it's literally the only thing separating Simon from Richter gameplay-wise.

What other franchises do you guys know of that Sakurai is a fan of? Could give us an idea who might be among the remaining six if we get another like Terry.

No, but I can argue that giving Snake more diversity in his weapon arsenal would be useful. Not asking for him to get an assault rifle, but something like a tranq gun in PM would be useful.

If I had to be honest, I'm pretty indifferent about Minecraft Steve. I'm not against him, I'm just not really excited about him.

Phoenix Wright is all I want. I understand he's not generally the first pick for the next Capcom rep but I think he has a shot.

I always imagined it would be him waking up at 104. Looking at his hand to check if he has a timer (only to be surprised there is none). And the standard "You have seven days remaining" message would play on the screen of the building.

The reaper emblem would show up on the screen, but then it glitches out into a Smash symbol. And then Inklings/Joker appear to fight him (like the noise in TWEWY). At which point we'll go into a gameplay trailer.

It takes from the opening of the first game, and makes you think we're getting a sequel and then BAM Neku is in Smash.

Some of the attacks have a flame-like animation, but grouping them with other characters who use fire seems forced.

I also think bombs are kind of a stretch too.

It looks like fire, acts like fire, it pretty much is fire unless you told someone otherwise--at least in Smash.

That is highly dependent on if you took my parody of the "too many swords" argument as a serious declaration that Smash has too much fire.

I don't really want Goku in either. But I might as well enjoy him while he's there if he got in.

Give him power pole, give him the flying Nimbus, make Kamehameha his neutral B and make the Oozaru or his great ape fist his final smash. Screw fighterZ for giving us every Goku BUT Kid Goku.

That said Goku isn't ever getting into Smash.

I disagree, Goku's peak is right around before Super Saiyan was just a meme form and actually powerful, something like Base or SSJ in FighterZ.

Teen Gohan is the peak of the entire character before he enters jobber junction though

Sora. He'd probably be a fun character but let's be real in the 1% chance he makes it. We know we can expect nothing to come with him right? Square has already proven their stinginess twice and now were factoring Disney in the mix a company that tried to sued a school for showing its students The Lion King. Yeah expect no English voice, 1 song, 1 spirit (Sora), and nothing else.

Also Rex and that's just because nobody really cares about him. They just want Pyra/Mythra. That's why you see so many people rooting for Solo Pyra (something that doesn't even exist in XB2) but a Solo Rex is 10000% unacceptable. It doesn't help that Rex and Pyra honestly have the most boring toolkit amongst all of Alrest. Pretty any character from XB2 would have a more interesting toolkit while also having the blade/driver mechanics.

Idk man Dragon Quest had a **** ton of demand from Japan for god knows how long, is the ultimate granddaddy of JRPGs and was a major influence on games like Zelda, had a Halo 3 tier launch, had Smash include the Western fanfav and Boomer fanfav, had the alt colour for the Luminary be a reference to 8 instead of 11, all that and more makes it impossible for me to consider Hero a shill pick of a port

It's not like a character inclusion can have multiple purposes. Nope, it's impossible to think that Hero's inclusion was to cater to the Japanese audience while promoting the series in the west. Obviously it can only be one reason and one reason only.

That said Goku isn't ever getting into Smash.

IMO both would bring something unique, but if I had to choose I'd go for the original Kid Goku as well.
Adult Goku I think would be a more flashed out mewtwo with the "super form" gimmick and martial arts in his neutrals, Kid Goku on the other hand has a few things that could make him more unique.

But if I had to chose an anime character i'd either chose Eren from Attack on Titan (for the same reason I want Hornet in Smash, grappling hook based moveset), or Nike & Kukuri as an Ice Climbers-like duo (from Mahoujin Guruguru) with the ugly old man dancer as an assist trophy (because they would be incredibly hilarious).
