You son of a *****, I'm inProfessor Layton (Level-5)
Just chiming in to say that this many placeholders has been known about since launch.Dataminers dug in. Here's what the files look like after Byleth (who is called "Master" in the files) for those curious.
Don't take it as a sign that DLC is happening after Vol. 2 though.
This is the files from the CSS.those the WoL placeholders or the not-WoL placeholders that supposedly accounted for alts?
Agreed. Smash Ultimate has such a weird update history regarding placeholders, you can't really track anything anymore.Dataminers dug in. Here's what the files look like after Byleth (who is called "Master" in the files) for those curious.

Nope. This is entries pulled straight from the executable. They are completely different from the WoL placeholders in [spirits_campaign_enc_foto_param.prc].Just chiming in to say that this many placeholders has been known about since launch.

I never said it was the WoL data. I know it's not the WoL data. I said it was the CSS data.Nope. This is entries pulled straight from the executable. They are completely different from the WoL placeholders in [spirits_campaign_enc_foto_param.prc].
It's actually not the CSS data either. It's related to the fighter IDs of characters directly, but my bad for confusing your original post! This stuff can be quite confusing sometimes lol.I never said it was the WoL data. I know it's not the WoL data. I said it was the CSS data.
I see, I reread your post. My original post was referencing this:It's actually not the CSS data either. It's related to the fighter IDs of characters directly, but my bad for confusing your original post! This stuff can be quite confusing sometimes lol.
Also, I've added sources to my original post for those more curious about stuff.
Considering the picture looked exactly like this: https://hastebin.com/opokenuwer.cssApparently, a Character Selection Screen file also had 29 placeholders, but was removed in v2.0.0.
It's weird because I originally thought those placeholders were removed too. However, that appears to not be the case. I was always told that, but it seems some confusion was spreading into the mix as the TCRF is now saying a separate CSS file also had 30 (or I bet 29 as humans instinctively round things) placeholders removed in v2.0.0.I see, I reread your post. Is what led me to believe it was the same file. (The above being the removed file)
Freddie and Regenerator are really good ones.Aight since we're doing the codename game again and I already let some of mine slip anyway, here's the full list of mine
Steve - Terra
Sol Badguy - Freddie
Kiryu - Dragon
2B - Pencil
Reimu - Blossom
Lloyd - Regenerator
I see you're a man of culture as well. The best Nintendo game in the last decade™ deserves a sequel, but at least a remaster would be nice.Day 2287
Still no HD port of Kid Icarus Uprising.
I sleep.
And so does #HadesforSmash
All I can think of is that a Number 2 pencil is the most commonly-used type, but then again, I've only played the intro to Nier Automata.Freddie and Regenerator are really good ones.
But Pencil... I fully completed Nier Automata back then and I don't get the reference
Main reason I wanna get an 3DS.Still no HD port of Kid Icarus Uprising.
It's actually just a reference to the type of pencils that most people write with. It's a really esoteric pun that I don't expect most people to get, but that's why I went with it lmao.Freddie and Regenerator are really good ones.
But Pencil... I fully completed Nier Automata back then and I don't get the reference
That is pretty ******* dumb because there is nothing wrong about expressing disappointment. There aren't really any characters I want, I just hope we get nothing but Fire Emblem characters until Smash fans stop whining about fun characters to play as simply because they aren't the one they particularly want
You're kidding, right? There's a From Software character that would be absolutely perfect that you didn't mention. You know, I think I've come around. I think FromSoftware does deserve a rep. Their games are crazy iconic and all.

What? You don't remember Katia from Lost Kingdoms for the Nintendo Gamecube developed by FromSoftware?
"I'm going to be in Smash. Why? Because I'm the President of the Great United States of America!"I am, of course, referring to President Michael Wilson, from Metal Wolf Chaos.
My Roy will make short work of himYou better hope this byleth doesnt catch you online, your ass is grass
There was a problem fetching the tweet
Absolutely not. Byleth has so many drawbacks as it is, due to their movement and attack speed.Byleth needs to be nerfed in the next update.
I think Byleth is fine as is. I'm having a much easier time dealing with them online than I initially did with Joker, Hero, and Terry.Byleth needs to be nerfed in the next update.
1) Capcom - Nathan Spencer (Bionic Commando)Alright let’s do a game I guess.
give me your fighter pass 2, only rule is you can’t use any company that had a character from pass 1 (so no Sega, Square-Enix, Microsoft, SNK, or Nintendo characters)
I don't think this makes spirit promotions likely. But it does shoot down that terrible argument "What would they do with the spirit already in the game?"Hey so

Just so you know, there are many other Spirits in the game that share the same name.Hey so

The argument is that Spirits already in the game can have their name changed.Just so you know, there are many other Spirits in the game that share the same name.
Two Leifs (Fire Emblem & Animal Crossing)
Two Sakuras (Fire Emblem & Street Fighter)
Two Rikis (Xenoblade & River City Ransom)
Two Zeros (Mega Man & Metal Gear)
Two Hectors (Fire Emblem & Castlevania)
I wouldn't count on this meaning anything.
That's not what they were getting at.Just so you know, there are many other Spirits in the game that share the same name.

It's only been one day.Byleth needs to be nerfed in the next update.

They updated the name of a Spirit. At the very least, this confirms they could update the name of an old Spirit if it became a fighter.
I mean, how can we be sure something like this will happen again? The argument is that Spirits already in the game can have their name changed.

So battle with Abe Lincoln from Codename STEAM when?"I'm going to be in Smash. Why? Because I'm the President of the Great United States of America!"

It only needs to happen once to set a precedent. Like I said, I don't think it makes Spirit promotions likely (I'm positive an AT will be promoted before a Spirit exclusive will anyway). It just shoots down a ****ty argument.I mean, how can we be sure something like this will happen again?
You fool, you started a spirit discussion topic!Hey so

The vast majority of my most wanted newcomers have either already been added to the roster, are currently assists and therefore extremely unlikely to make the roster this time around, or are simply so obscure that I never expected them to make the roster in the first place. Here’s a fun game. Make a predictions list of characters you DON’T want or would be disappointed by. (Serious inquires only please. i.e. they have to have somewhat of a chance.)
It's not a belief based on Ashley. The ATs in the game have bigger star power than the characters that are Spirit exclusive with the only real exceptions being Dixie and Bandanna Dee (For some).>Ashley icon
Hmmmm, I wonder why you believe that
>tfw your a Geno and Waluigi supporter that absolutely hate FE, but FE potentially broke the barrier of the one argument of them not getting in, so now your conflictedHey so

While that’s a neat pass, but for the sake of the game I had the rule for no company repeats. Here’s my realistic wishlist:
