One of my top favorite most wanted is Phoenix Wright. I love the Ace Attorney games and they are some of my most favorite games. Having a lawyer in the game fighting all these different characters would be hilarious. And I love the music. Crypto - I love Destroy All Humans and his moveset would be amazing.
Vectorman - Another rep from the Genesis era. I love his games, though he is far from my top shooter rep.
Earthworm Jim - Simply put, he would be a groovy character.

I have wanted Sora, from Kingdom Hearts, since Brawl. I love the KH games. There is so much to work with in terms of moveset potential. The original worlds made for the game are stunning. An overwhelming array of music to choose from. I feel like Sora would be a perfect fit for Smash. I know a lot of people are opposed to his inclusion, but I just think it makes perfect sense.

Shanoa as Order of Ecclesia is my favourite game of all time, I want more goth aesthetics in Smash, I'm gay, OoE got snubbed in the music department as we're missing Dissonant Courage, Rhapsody of the Forsaken, Sorrow's distortion and Order of the Demon which was remixed in HoD meaning they could have pulled that out in Smash with ease but nooooo. Shanoa's glyphs also make her one of the most versatile additions Smash can possibly have, swords, punchy ****, a ****ton of spells, scythes, spears, yadda yadds yadda and that someone on the Smash team clearly loves OoE as much as I do as Shanoa's spirit battle pulls from some obscure **** instead of some generic first level synonyms like most third parties do.

Miriam for mostly similar reasons to Shanoa, my love for Iga, a good old **** you to Konami and I'm very gay

Sol Badguy as I love fighting games and want to see the nuttiest **** in Smash yet alongside him looking significantly different from literally anyone already in Smash due to his skin colour and metal aesthetics, I want to hurt my throat while screaming along matches while I airdash and then wreck **** with Dragon Install, I want to see how Smash would handle GG's artstyle as Terry's animated in a specific way to emulate the high detail of SNK sprites

Wolf_2, not really sure but just to pull something from my butt, Great Grey Wolf Sif from Dark Souls.

Mann= TF2 Rep (Mann from Mann Co, the name of the store in TF2)
Human= Frisk/Chara (All the monsters in the game refer to you as Human)
Finger= Phoenix Wright (Iconic finger pointing pose along with the emphasis on fingerprinting in the later games)
Wolf_2 (Wolf from Sekiro Shadows die Twice. Also he'd be the second wolf added to the game )

- Elma: Xenoblade X is one of my favorite games on the Wii U, and my favorite Xenoblade to date. It scratched all my itches for an intense sci-fi JRPG, and I loved the setting and music. Rex got yeeted out of the running in pass 1, so making up for it with Elma would be great. I’d settle for Fiora but Elma is the dream.
- Octoling from Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion. The hero modes of Splatoon 1 and base game 2 left something to be desired (even if 2’s hero mode final battle is always hype worthy). OE, however, not only put a new fresh spin on Hero Mode with a focus on challenges, but also a great setting, music, a surprisingly darker story, and also Off The Hook > Squid Sisters don’t @ me. TEAM OCTO FOREVER!
- KOS-MOS, if only for the fact she’s known more through Project X Zone and Xenoblade 2. Her games may not be well known but she is, and hopefully if she gets into Smash, Namco will change their minds and let Xenosaga HD Trilogy actually happen, its a series that means a lot to me.

slightly more obscure wants:
- Neku, at least in that he’s more obscure compared to Square Enix competitors Geno and 2B. TWEWY was one of my favorite DS games, and he’s got a closer Nintendo affinity than 2B and more appearances than Geno (KH:DDD and... [SPOILER REDACTED]). Who knows maybe we’ll finally see that TWEWY sequel if Neku gets in!
- Black Shadow. A new F-Zero rep is (sadly) the last thing on many people’s minds cause the series has been dormant since 2003. But he’s the main villain, compared to the AT Samurai Goroh who’s just a rival to Falcon. If F-Zero makes its grand return soon, I hope Black Shadow joins Smash at the same time.

Okay, fine. I.D. , I'm sorry for being a bit of a **** about this. I don't hate Reimu or her series whatsoever, and while I wouldn't be the most thrilled about seeing her in Smash, I don't think you or anyone is a bad or stupid person for thinking she'd be a great addition to Smash. And that goes for any character.

"Hate" might be a strong word but I definitely get fandom of a character effecting your view on them negatively, especially if fan demand is all going for them.

I understand where you're coming from, and I'd be lying if I said fandoms didn't affect my view on something before. But the reason why I don't take fandoms that much into consideration anymore when deciding if I like a character or not is because, well, every character fandom has some bad people in them. Sure, some have more toxic people than the others, but I realized the more I focused on the fandoms of characters the more I became against these characters, which is dumb because when I looked back on these characters I shouldn't be against them in the first place. It made speculation more tiring than it usually was, it leads to a tribalistic mentality that divides the Smash community even further. I'm not perfect, and no one in here is, but I still believe we should strive to separate fandoms from characters and judge these characters on their own.

See, for your hypothetical example to work, timed hits would need to be a good mechanic in fighting games when history has shown it isn't.


Also before Hero haters try to meme RNG as a bad fighting game mechanic go play some actual fighting games to see **** like Faust

Hence why I said right, I'm aware there's a lot that can go wrong with timed hits as a mechanic. Actually, how many fighting game characters employ timed hits? I don't think it has been explored that much in fighting games.

Paper Mario - I think people who dismiss him for being another Mario aren't considering everything he's done in his games. He's got a handful of partners, each of which have a unique ability. He can fold himself into a paper airplane, paper boat, and various other things, and a hammer that's been used in many different ways throughout the series. I think he's a character everyone could enjoy.

Champion (BotW) - In terms of moveset potential, I think these guys have more to work with than characters like Skull Kid and Impa. Each has both a unique weapon and special skill to help them stand out. We have a spear wielding healer, a high-flying archer, a defensive tank with a sledgehammer, and a graceful swordfighter who can control lightning (the latter might be a little less unique because of Robin and Hero, but still.)

Zacian - Seems like everyone is underestimating this Pokemon for a different reason. I actually think it has more to work with for a moveset than any of the other Gen 8 Pokemon. Unlike Toxtricity and Urshifu, it can actually switch back-and-forth between its forms, and it can also absorb the metal blades on it's back to make its sword bigger and stronger. It would also be our first Legendary since Mewtwo.

BBTag changed Azazel's weak point mechanic into timed hits and I have yet to see a single person happy with this implementation. It barely has any precense because people who make fighting games know it just doesn't work as the idea of it as a mechanic assumes you're hitting your moves on the first frame it possibly could, punishing players for benefiting from lingering hitboxes

Not to support the notion or insult anyone, but the argument of a character's fanbase being "willing into existence" by 4chan or any other site makes no sense to me. Isn't that kind of the point of Smash speculation? Fanbases are built on the backs of passionate fans who express their passion consistently. In doing so, they attract other potential fans, thus growing their fanbase even more.

Like, every fanbase has started out this way, so what's the harm in it?

I get both ends of it. On one side it's literally called speculation for a reason. Playing what if is one of the biggest parts of that. I talk about how cool it would be to get Nathan Drake in Smash often and that's not happening.

I also get the end of it though that's sick of random characters that suddenly get spammed in leaks for months on end, have everything get disproven, and then still have people scream they're likely when there's nothing there other than those leaks. I'm not going to name characters who fit this because I'm not going to debate people on merits for characters, but we can all name a few. There's also people who go out of their way to make fake leaks to try to get their character noticed or rally the fan base, which is a strategy I guess, but when there's so much fake info out there having people pile on gets annoying

However, I do find it ironic that it seems like the ones who complain about this stuff the most are THE GENO FANS, who's entire case for being added to Smash is through people trying to will it into happening. I have no doubt I wouldn't know who Geno was if it wasn't for Smash speculation and I dont think I'm alone in that

To anyone who plays competitively, how did the patch work for you? I got pretty lucky this patch:

- I decided to main Young Link again, so I'm glad he got buffs to help him kill easier.
-ZSS's bury got nerfed which I'm secretly happy about.
-Joker got nerfed sadly and my true main Luigi got nothing.
-The Shotos keep getting buffs and now they're more toxic and I'm very excited for it since I play Ryu.

I grew up on his games and probably one of the few folks who enjoyed the non-PS1 games. I even liked playing the Titans games even of their designs were kinda bad.

Amaterasu: Due to my fondness of dogs, and art, I quickly grew to like this character, the ability to swap weapons so quickly, as well as the power to manipulate the world with whatever you drew well... drew me in. The music, the amazing world, and overall game made sure that my desire for this wolf to get in Smash wouldn't fade anytime soon. I've wanted her since Brawl.

Shantae: Quickly like her bubbly, and cheerful personality, determination, and overall quirk of transforming into animals, also her music is total bangers. Another character I've wanted since Brawl

Elma: Sadly haven't played her game, but from what I heard about her quick acrobatic fighting style, and high mobility, she sounds like a fighter right up my alley, plus the fact that she can go long, and short range with her dual guns, and swords on the fly is amazing. Also the icing on the cake, she has a giant robot (Skell), I. Dig. Giant. Robots.

Sakura Shinguji: Another fighter with a giant robot, but more importantly, I like her quick Iaijutsu swordstyle, that I'm sure would set her apart from other Swordfighters and with the new Sakura Wars game coming out, who knows, she might be our first fighter in the pack.

Kat: A wholesome character. She the type of kind-hearted heroine that will stop a rampaging Nevi from destroying the city, a terrorist from blowing up the city, and yet still right afterwards wouldn't hesitate to help out with even the smallest favors like a lost balloon. I enjoyed her game so much, especially the music too. Oh, and she has power over Gravity too which is pretty cool too.

Sora: Wow! What can I say, Kingdom Hearts is game that is near and dear to my heart, a part of that reason is because Disney is near to my heart too, but I've always enjoyed playing as Sora with his endless optimism, his 'leave no friend behind' loyalism, and his 'can do, never say die attitude' even during his darkest times, makes me really like his character. Add in the facts that he has more spells than your average mage, physical abilities, plenty of different forms, and flowmotion, and you can understand why I hope he enters the world of Smash. I've wanted him for quite a while but it didn't hit me till Smash 4 that he actually has a chance to make it in

That’d be very nice. I’d love if they updated the intro to have all of the DLC characters too. Palutena’s Guidances for all of them would be amazing too. It’d make the game feel more complete once we get the final character.

I saw the conversation earlier about the fact that mii costumes should have spirit battle and I decide to think about some idea for Cuphead spirit battle.
-Cuphead and Mugman: battle against 2 mii gunners on Tortimer island. The enemies projectiles are more powerful.
-Cagney Carnation: Giant Piranha plant on Garden of hope
-Ribby and Croaks: Ryu and Ken on Boxing ring. Strong wind will appear during the fight
-Grim matchstick: Charizard on Skyloft. After some time 2 more Charizard appear (you need to beat all 3 of them)
-Dr. Khal's robot: Giant R.O.B. on New pork city. When you beat him you have to beat a Dr. Mario. There's a lot of Smart bomb and other explosives items on the stage.
-The devil: Giant Bowser on Norfair. Small Ridley appears after some time to help the enemy.

I got around to playing Byleth's Classic Mode and the DLC spirit board. I find it poetic that the last fight in Classic Mode happens to be the Fire Emblem protagonists vs Master Hand and Crazy Hand with how much Smash fans actively hate Fire Emblem. The spirits were once again fairly easy to beat thanks to Little Mac with Fist Attack dmg boost and higher crit percentages, but Seteth ended up being the 2nd DLC spirit I couldn't beat 1st try next to Igor (though that was because he ****ing down B'd me offscreen). Also, Rhea's spirit battle makes me believe that either Little Mac can't reach for **** on the ground or that huge Charizard had hitboxes that were too high for a forward Smash Attack.

I'll also take a moment and say I'm pretty letdown by the fact that there's only 9 spirit battles in that Spirit Board. Like the entire SNK catalogue, Three Houses has a lot of characters that easily could've given the spirit board over 25+ spirit battles, but it seems there is an actual limit to how many spirit battles can be made for DLC. If the Fighter Packs in Vol 1 couldn't come with more spirits than Castlevania, I can only hope at least 1 Fighter Pack in Vol 2 would be able to bring more spirits than expected.

One of my top favorite most wanted is Phoenix Wright. I love the Ace Attorney games and they are some of my most favorite games. Having a lawyer in the game fighting all these different characters would be hilarious. And I love the music. Cornered and all the pursuit themes are fantastic and the games have some of my most favorite soundtracks. Plus we could use a visual novel rep.

Bonus question: What are some obscure characters you want?

Crypto - I love Destroy All Humans and his moveset would be amazing.
Vectorman - Another rep from the Genesis era. I love his games, though he is far from my top shooter rep.
Earthworm Jim - Simply put, he would be a groovy character.

Instead of talking about Cortez, I'm going to talk about why I like Streets of Rage 2!

I grew up playing Streets of Rage 2 on the Mega Drive, it was lots of fun beating up thugs and is still fun now. All the stages were really awesome to look at and they had some brilliant music to go with them like Stage 3 (Amusement park) and Stage 4 (Baseball Stadium). I like Axel the most because his attacks sound like they really hurt and his moveset involves punching. What better way to deal with nasty thugs on the street by giving them a fist to their faces? I just want him for Smash Bros because I want to hit people with the Grand upper and see it's multi hit gloriousness once more in 3D and HD!

I don't know which stage I would love to see more in Smash Bros, the Amusement Park or the Baseball stadium because both could potentially bring very fun stuff to the game like the Amusement Park has a pirate ship section, arcade section and the horror house where you fight a thing called Vehelits. Then there is the Baseball park where it then takes you down an elevator to a cage match. However predicting Sakurai, he'll probably pick the first stage (Streets - Bar) to keep things simple and go by the name of the game being Streets of Rage.

Regardless of stage, it would be really difficult to mess up the music selection because the music in the game is some of the best Mega Drive music I've ever heard. They're catchy, upbeat and a blast to listen to. Listed the music down below if anyone wants to take a listen to them.

Also I have to give you brownie points for mentioning Vectorman. Vectorman 1 was such a great game. Vectorman 2 I'm a little mixed on. Just not a fan of the setting of the second one.

One thing I like to do for DLC spirit boards is to clear them with the respective DLC character so I used Byleth to get all of the 3H spirits, it was quite fun.
