The reveal might be in February itself, or it might be a Pokemon and be revealed in this upcoming Pokemon Direct. Although, they've never used Pokemon Directs to announce new Pokemon fighters for Smash before.

but for real, that's also a possibility, I just feel like everything has been ramping up between the SKUs, amiibos, and pre-purchase to have us all wait a month for the reveal. Seems to be coming sooner rather than later

At this point I want FP5 speculation to be done. I don't care if its a Pokemon rep tbh at this point. I want to start getting to post-Pass DLC discussion.

Even not I'll survive. I got Joker on disc to look forward to and seeing Underwater at the theaters this week.

Yeah, but this time he said KOS-MOS' revival project, not just like for Xenosaga remaster.
Considering Kunihiko Tanaka's blog back in September, we really won't see her new artworks for a long time.
That said, I'm still leaning towards her for FP5 though.

Im glad that there's an interest in bringing Xenosaga back, hope that if not a remaster right now maybe we could se a remake in the next couple of years.

Well Nintendo's marketing back in the day was really bad so it's not surprising. Any franchise that wasn't the big Mario/Zelda/PKMN type usually fell victim to this.

And in this case, it's NoA's marketing team that were the heels lol.

I mean, there's still another almost two full weeks in January the Direct could pop up before we get to February, so why offer a binary choice that doesn't encompass all the options?

I'm betting next week seeing as how Pokemon Directs usually have follow-up Directs later on. No way is the Direct itself going to be Smash focused, but I think we're at the point for the speculation of the first pass to end, and for us to move into the beyond.

So maybe in addition to the identity of FP5 we get a bit of a hint at their plan for DLC past that. No names or reveals at all, I'd wager, but I could see at least an explanation of the plan going forward

Scorbunny is the best starter evolution, but Intelleon is the best final evolution.

Nothing Smash related is getting announced Thursday. It'll probably only be 15 minutes of padding and maybe they'll show off a new event Pokemon. Pokemon directs are never worthwhile.

That aside, Toxtricity should totally be added to Smash and Pokemon Conquest 2 should become a thing.
