After all these long months of waiting for what seems like an eternity, i'd rather Fighter 5 remain a secret and that Verge/Sabi can have the decency of not spilling the beans.

It's good that you guy can have fun with Assist Trophies, more power to you all. But I can't. I don't like them. They've done a great deal with literally everything else Zelda related at least. Multiple stages, a rare boss fight, tons of Assist Trophies, items, and Spirits, and even numerous redesigns across each game in addition to bringing back Young Link. For the lack of any newcomers since Brawl, Zelda has still done incredibly well for itself.

Sakurai has done well representing Zelda through stages and items, but I still want a new character. I just hate how several people act like it's selfish to want one. There are a lot of unique options that would be great choices for Smash. Having a lot of stages and ATs doesn't take away from that.

-Golden Sun duology remake
-Mainline Touhou ports to Switch (preferably translated but that's not happening..)
-More SNES games for NSO preferably big-name games like the DKC trilogy, Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, etc. etc.

We could hope for 1, but right now, it doesn't look likely since we haven't gotten someone like Emily Rogers saying a Direct is set to happen this week or next. I'm just hoping there'll be an announcement of Sakurai's next broadcast revealing FP5 followed by a presentation right after real soon.

I think if they gave Golden Sun a face lift in story and made the gameplay less boring it'd be damn good.
A Golden Sun ARPG that plays like Kingdom Hearts would be hella hype.
Square Enix is doing something like that with the Trials of Mana, so Nintendo can do the same with Golden Sun.

My only thing about a Zelda newcomer is that the only thing that Smash fans wanting more Zelda content could ever properly rally behind was ironically Ganondorf using the sword.
I mean, you bring up Zelda and people name drop like 20 characters with zero practical path towards getting any of those in since they also drop in and out with extreme regularity. Ghirahim was really popular during the Smash 4 days, but his fan base went up in smoke once time had passed and Skyward Sword's reception turned more negative. The Champions don't really work as options unless you're really willing to include all four of them somehow (and even then they would have been better served overhauling more of Link's moveset I think) and since that's not going to happen, none of them ever come close to coming out on top. Skull Kid pops back up every now and then, but has virtually no tangible moveset to pull directly from and his support literally always craters out it seems. Impa is all over the place design wise and from a fan support level as well, and half the people who ask for her don't actually seem as excited for her as they do the general inclusion of another Zelda character, so it doesn't come off super excitingly. Etc.
Like, I'm not saying you shouldn't support a Zelda newcomer. I just think people need to get on the same page to push a Zelda newcomer from a practical standpoint. Whereas Metroid and DK had clear frontrunners, I can't say Zelda has ever had the same and it seems like that's what it's going to take to get a new Zelda rep since Sakurai seems more than happy doing all kinds of other stuff for Zelda in the absence of a strong contender for a playable character.

Hahaha. I'm glad you're a good sport about my comment.
But in all seriousness, I think that we often assign more energy and emotion to people's comments on here. I admit that I'm guilty of reading too much into people's comments sometimes, too. It's easy to see why though. Text, especially small messages, are nothing compared to face-to-face interaction. You don't get to see gestures, facial expressions, tonality, volume, etc., which can seriously dilute a message and it's intented impact.
That being said, when people talk about their wants and desires with Smash, I think some of us in the community are too quick to assign malice, vitriol, and bitterness to them when there was very little or none to begin with. Disappointment is often there, sure, but not always anger. That's how I am with Piranha Plant. I think it's a garbage choice and it should have never been done, but I'm still going to play as it every once in a while and I still love God and Mashed Potato Sack of Rye. And personally, I feel like anyone that owns the game or intents to buy it and it's DLC have every right to reasonably express their desires for present updates and future content.

Tingle Sr. has extremely well documented problems with substance abuse thank you very much! He's on the path to recovery these days, but he just couldn't get sober in time to save his marriage or be a proper father to the Tingle we know and he's only disappointed in him because he can't forgive himself for not being there for his son!
