I'm pretty sure for any leak to surpass the Grinch somebody would have to get into a physical fight over a disagreement relating to the hypothetical leak

Tbh I do find it suspicious that Sakura was name-dropped by Verge’s source despite not being FP5 since she’s such a dark horse candidate

I was beginning to wonder if she was moved to post-pass or not due to me being uncertain if Nintendo would find TGAs the right place to reveal her which would explain why she was name-dropped to begin with but regardless Sabi seems to be cross-checking if Vergeben’s claims are accurate or not so we’ll have to wait and see what the story is.

Still finding it weird that Verge's "correct" list doesn't have characters that correspond to every company on the "old list."

Capcom, Konami, ASW, Spike Chunsoft, Marvelous, Epic Games, Bethesda, and Nintendo.

Furthermore, the "no upgraded assists" and "no upgraded spirits" statements don't have any counterpart on the "corrected" list.

Like what? How did he misinterpret his source as deconfirming companies/characters the source didn't even mention?

Whether Verge's source is real or intentionally leakbaiting him (who even knows or cares at this point), that's a bizarre error on Verge's part.

So verge is saying no namco, sabi is saying namco is still in. I dont know how to feel.

Both though are saying a spirit upgrade is still a possibility though, so back on the shantae train

He said that he gave them that list of companies asking if any of them or the characters he included as examples were not in, and, from what I assume was a miscommunication on somebody's part, when he got word back he took it to mean that all of them were out when only the characters he mentioned specifically were out.
I'll always be skeptical but it just sounds like an honest mistake to me.

If this was for all the remaining characters, maybe I'd give more of a ****, but it's only for one character, who is going to be revealed soon anyway, so I don't. There's no way it'd be healthy anyway.

Just go with the flow, stopping every once in a while to lol at Sabi (or Vergeben... but usually Sabi). I really can't recommend it enough.

When speculation stops getting fun, you should stop. Simple as that.

This is a problem I think a lot of people here on Smashboards, GameFAQs, and a lot of other sites have. they seem to dedicate a lot of their time to speculation. Some people just need to realize Smash speculation is just people bickering and arguing about which characters are going to get into party fighting game often marketed to children. If your favorite character gets in, then great! If not, it's nowhere near the end of the world. Smash speculation should not be treated as serious as a lot of people here make it out to be, lol.

You specifically said that Sabi SAID Namco and spirits are still alive. But they are just missing from the list.

This is precisely how misinformation spreads in this community.

Y'know the speculattion process would be a lot more fun if people didn't act like Smash was be all end all of their lives. It's just a video game. I'm trying to have fun with this. It's like a detective game and the mystery is kind of exciting. But instead people are going banana peels. Over what? This isn't politics. This is video games. Take a deep breath everyone.

Honestly, this leaker stuff is a massive headache. We're a week away from the VGA so I'm just going to stick it out. There are a lot of variables that could go on here to where all of this drama is unproductive

  • All of this could be leakbait by the company or VGA to throw off leakers.
  • Geoff even admits he knew about Joker only a week before the 2018 VGA, so it's very likely the actual info is kept under wraps. Since Joker wasn't leaked, I wouldn't even rely on the leakers to tell us who FP 5 is before the VGA.
  • It's possible Sabi's and Verge's sources could have lied about one of the deconfirmations so it wouldn't risk their identity.
  • Given all of the fake discord DMs floating around with Sabi, interpreting what's real info and what's not is becoming too much of a hassle. Again the VGA is a week away. It doesn't matter what they think anymore.
  • We've spent so much time focusing on who it isn't to where we really haven't come closer as to who it is.
  • Even if the deconfirmations are real, the actual surviving companies and series are not as narrowed down as we'd hope. All of this was a severe waste of time.
I honestly don't know who to expect at this point. Even when considering the deconfirmations, nothing has really narrowed down. If we are not actually getting closer to who the reveal is, what is the ****ing point?

Omg. Think for a second. Sabi is saying who is disconfirmed. If namco or spirits are not on the disconfirmed list, then they are still in the running according to sabi. Got it?
