I was surprised too. I had no idea Terry was considered obscure, let alone obscure to a fighting game community.
It helps that he doesn’t have to deal with the light/medium/heavy/proximity based attacks. His moveset translates to Smash way better IMO.

I was cool with Ryu until he got proximity attacks. Now I hardly ever use him.

I actually don’t know anything about her. It just feels almost odd Sakurai doesn’t pick her in a last fighter scenario when Rex isn’t around and Namco hasn’t released a single costume. I can still be sane if Lloyd is in instead (despite not knowing jack about him either). I can’t accept a single non-Namco-related thing in this pass
What do you mean by “slot”? This leaker that we are trusting has gotten literally every single character right up to this point. If you don’t think he has a legitimate source, idk what to tell you.
Smash 4 DLC didn't have a Namco fighter either.
They had at least one Namco character and a couple of costumes.
Funny thing is, I've first heard of Terry from Death Battle when he was pitted against Ken. After seeing that video I had figured that Fatal Fury and KoF had a big impact on FGs.
This current speculation cycle was a rollercoaster, so I'm curious to see how crazy the speculation cycle for the next characters would be.
They didn't get a fighter in DLC, though.

Nah, it’s your bias. Verge Isn’t trustworthy with dlc the more I think about it. He may tell us certain characters, he however hasn’t given us any accurate slots.

I think I learned about Richter when playing Super Mario Bros. Crossover. I picked the castlevania chars and saw Richter. I’d pick him because I thought he looked cool. Never would I thought he’d ever show up in Smash bros. Outside of that, my Castlevania knowledge is limited to AVGN.
Not sure if you’re being sarcastic. I did sound a bit haughty back there, my bad. Truth be told, there were many characters that I were unaware of before I got into the Smash scene, hence why I kinda got surprised over people not knowing who Terry was. I don’t remember when I saw him, but to me, he simply felt like a character you’d automatically know if you hang out in video game circles long enough. Experience differs for everyone I suppose.
I knew about Terry, but SNK is recent to me. I wasn’t told about those games until I befriended more FGC folk. I DID hear about Athena from the NES though. I used to watch people play and find bootleg games on YouTube right? There was a Pokémon Bootleg that was a romhack of Athena and that’s how I found out about her origins. It’s wild.
Oh crap, I worded it wrongly. I meant that I would be shocked about Namco lacking representation in the fighter’s pass because of the big factors that come into play. It wasn’t anything personal. If I wanted to get personal, I would talk about Hollow Knight.
So, sans Chris, it would be Marvel vs Capcom Infinite all over again!

He is a product of his time but that's another reason he should be in: for better or worse, he will stand out. lmao His Super Smash portrayal would probably be a more positive one. That and the fact that Duke Nukem 3D was the s*** indeed.
