I thought of this one all day, and while I was busy reviewing for finals, I was beginning to think of a hypothetical Morrigan trailer. So...here it goes. Feel free to criticize but don't be too harsh.

The scene begins in Dracula's Castle. Continuing from where we left off with Luigi and the Belmonts, they begin to traverse the castle. Then, out of nowehere, a figure then attacks Simon from behind, akin to Ridley's trailer complete with the red background and the silhouette. This is followed by Richter getting knocked out by a similar figure, only this time, the figure kisses Richter before knocking him out. The same silhouette and background appears.

Luigi, terrified, slowly turns around, shivering in fear. Then, he is punched both sides by the two figures. When Luigi regains his sense, he sees the image of a red and pink figure in front of him, before the figure disappears, passing through him. He turns around to see his attacker, extending her wings and locking her eyes towards Luigi. And then...

Morrigan allures the competition (that was the best one I found sorry)

Followed by...gameplay footage. Then it transitions back to the scene. Luigi is now begging for his life, when all of a sudden...Captain Falcon appears! Both him and Morrigan then focus on each other and prepare for battle, during which, her unique mechanics may be shown.

At the end of it all, Falcon, defeated, is then approached by the succubus. She gives one last look, before she kisses Falcon on the cheek, then takes him with her as she flies away.

Luigi, now recovering, assists the Belmonts, and then the trailer ends.

That's pretty well thought out, especially using the Haunted Castle again. I like how merciless she was in taking out Simon but (sort of) sparing Richter showing both sides of her personality as well as just basically tormenting Luigi, it just shows he can never catch a break.

I actually didn't know that she can split in two, and phase through enemies so your trailer would also show of some interesting abilities of hers too.

Overall I really like it, and I honestly wouldn't mind too much if Morrigan makes it in Smash (also your reveal title sounds great no need for apologies)

I mean, no Dragon Quest protag has a set name. Calling them Hero doesn't contradict anything. Erdrick is still the same character whether he's called Arusu, Yusha or Hero.

Saying he's not in the game just because how he's named doesn't make sense.

It’s like saying Red and Leaf aren’t in Smash because they are named “Pokémon Trainer”.

I know this is fake, but what do you guys think about this Marina Liteyears picture leak?

Easiest way to spot a fake leak is if the model looks absolutely terrible. This “leak” definitely looks really bad.

Because it is a meme at this point for characters to look better in Smash than their own game.

Sakurai praised Death Stranding.

I... definitely disagree, but expect to see a lot of praise for it at The Game Awards courtesy of the Dorito Pope. Also, Norman Reedus confirmed for Smash.

I think with Death Stranding there's a lot to praise but it's basically what happens when an indie passion project gets a triple AAA Budget. The kind of systems that would be fascinating in a short $15 experience instead turn into frustration.

Erdrick is in the game as an alternate outfit. And if you pick that outfit, it still says Hero. Meaning Erdrick technically is less of a character than Alph and the Koopalings are. He pretty much has the status of a mii fighter. It looks like the character, but he’s not actually in the game.

I guess the female player character from AC doesn't exist in Smash because she's an alternate costume and is called Villager instead of what I expected despite having no canonical name just like Erdrick.

I mean, I’d rather have discussion on a completely new possibility like Marina no matter how unlikely than the same clockwork “it’s Sora, it’s Sakura, it’s Phoenix, it’s Doomguy still.” We’re in a state of limbo until TGA unless someone spills the beans, so I’d rather the conversation not get stale so quickly.

Do you know how many text leaks are pumped out on a daily basis on that site? Unless there is solid proof or evidence, they are absolutely not worth discussing.

That is the problem. Even when the poster says that it is obviously fake, for some reason people always use them as potential “evidence” for their most wanted getting in. You should’ve seen this thread the other day when someone knowingly posted a fake Morrigan text leak.

Unless there was a credible leak i missed, all I’ll say is if people are actually thinking someone like her is likely, I guess Monokuma is just as likely too. (Hopefully)

It's worth paying attention to fake leaks on 4chan for the rare moments where Big Professional Leakers poopoo them, only for them to turn out to be 100% correct. The guy who leaked a bunch of Switch stuff because he set up games at the reveal is a great example; Emily Rogers said it was wrong, didn't have Mario Kart 9 or the Xenoblade X port she had reported etc. He got Arms, Has-Been-Heroes, MK8DX and a bunch more right.

Oh I'm aware of how far people will go to believe things. We had that Drunken cat "leak" that said KOS-MOS was fighter 5.

But that's besides the point. If there is any consolation to these "leaks", it just give us a new character to speculate about and people can choose whether they believe leaks or not.

Didn’t people use this excuse to try to say that the Grinch leak was real? About this particular instance?

If those 4chan “leaks” end up being right, it would be fun to look back on. However, when they have absolutely nothing substantial for the time being, they aren’t a bone worth biting imo.

I can see why a seasoned game developer would appreciate it, if nothing else it's very original and takes a lot of chances, which is a rarity in the industry these days. But as Sakurai also states, it's not for everyone, and that would include myself. It definitely will take home a fair share of awards, it's nominated for so many categories, but it's too divisive to win the GotY award imo, I'm still banking on RE2 getting it (although I think Smash probably would if it wasn't for the timing).

Sorry, but that is a big yikes from me. And by Overwatch leak, do you mean the bag from September? Because Sabis source already ruled out Tracer if I am not mistaken.

Pretty much. And thanks to Vergeben, it is completely dead in the water now.

That is the question that I am asking though.

Why would a faked Marina model suddenly increase her chances? With or without it, her chances are still the same.

For that reason alone, I don’t know why people find them worth discussing. If some people really want her in the game, they don’t need a fake “leak” to talk about her chances, or how much they want her.

You're missing the point of what they were asking. We know that sometimes they're right and sometimes they're wrong; what they were saying is why are people posting obviously fake leaks. That Marina one had absolutely no credibility and looked fake from the outset. I mean, you could tell just by the fact that the Link was a modded Flavio color scheme that isn't in the game. It shouldn't have been posted because there was nothing to speculate; it was obviously fake.

I’m just going to be honest here. Why don’t we have people who doubt leaks that are really specific?
Saying a character is in a game is different from saying “this character is in the game and he’s fighter “#5”. In comparison to the hero leaks, this is just too odd. It almost feels like we’re mice and there is an invisible cat playing with us, the prey.

....Ok, if I am reading this correctly, that is the absolute weakest argument I have ever seen on this site.

If you are referring to it guessing a direct date, it was on the 4th-5th I believe. It didn’t even get that correctly.

However, if you are referring to writing down a very specific date as potential proof for a “leak” potentially, literally anyone could do that.

In fact, why don’t I do it right now?

Dec 12: Monokuma will get revealed at the Game Awards. My source is also telling me there could be a Switch trilogy announced. Releases in February.

Feb 12: Lloyd Irving gets announced in a Nintendo Direct for post pass. That is all I know for now, my source will tell me more later. Releases in April.

June 16: Ryu Hayabusa and Crash will be at E3. Both of them will be getting new games revealed at the Sony conference, the latter one you probably have already seen rumors about. I do not know their release dates.


You see just how easy it is to list specific dates? Even I just did it right now, that is without a doubt the weakest argument for any “leak” potentially being real.

Of course, that is just my interpretation of your statement, if you were referring to something else, feel free to say so.
