What if Balloon fighter was able to stay in the air longer than any other character -indefinitely- as long as he has balloons.

Attacks from enemies pop balloons

He'd be an aerial combat based opponent

I like all 3 of them, but Takamaru's where my money's at.

Not sure what the heck Balloon Figher or Mach Rider could do though. Their movesets would probably be almost as weird as whatever Mr. Peeper supporters come up with.

I wonder if Make Your Own Move has don't anything for those two yet?

I think it depends on the stage design.

I think they could make for it with character balancing as well

Which is pretty silly considering I don't think the Ice Climbers actually DID anything other than jump in their game, yet he managed to look past that and create an entire moveset. Of course, those reasonings behind not adding bubbles/BF/EB/ect. could have been jokes.

With those two though, at least in Balloon Fighter's case seeing as he made 2nd place, I wonder what Sakurai had in mind to get BF that far on his list?

Balloon Fight does seem to be up there with Ice Climber for Sakurai as he keeps pairing the two games, remember the fish?

Then the competitive community would have to alter the game around this character if the gimmick is too powerful or broken. This was the main criticism against banning MK or setting different air time and ledge grab rulings.

I know Sakurai doesn't care about that but you can probably see the dismay this may cause.

Balloon fighter should have no normal 3rd jump in my opinion.

I think he wouldn't make it too high up if he only relied on aerials. Think about it. His mobility would have to be amazing and how would he combat strong anti-air games like snake?

Mach Rider also has a moveset in Smash Bros. Crusade. He's essentially a generic fighter, with a Wario-esque bike special, in addition to a rapid-fire gun.
