Shake King would then be the alternative, as he's similar (NOTE: Not exactly the same) to WL Wario.

And they should consider Shake King because he's ****ing awesome.

I don't see the big deal with the Shake King myself. He's merely a one time only villain, just like most of Wario's past antagonists.

So he's a stronger and slower Wario, but people tend to look down on clones.

The most we'd get is an amalgam of WL and WW.
And even then, Wario's got more games than just Shake It to take from. Shake King has his similar (again, not exact) abilities to Wario, as well as plenty of his own.
Unless Wario can suddenly rain fireballs from the sky with a fist to the ground or fly and shoot electric balls and lasers.

Agreeing with MSGuy. Project M succeeds more than well in this, so why can't we please both audiences (and Sakurai) by mixing both WW-movesets with considerate amount of WL-moves?

Anyway, it would be incredibly stupid for the Pokemon Trainer to be cut. I mean, that's what Pokemon is all about: a Pokemon Trainer catching Pokemon and battling other Pokemon Trainers with their Pokemon. Right? And since y'all are so head over heels over "proper franchise representation" and whatnot, why cut a character so important to the franchise itself? So, while I can see how Lucario might be cut, or even how the Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon might be replaced, don't see how the Pokemon Trainer himself is any danger of being axed altogether

And Metal, my most wanted newcomer (doesn't include Mewtwo and Roy, who are my most wanted overall) would be Samurai Goroh

Anyway, I've been thinking about Waluigi. You know how Wario's an exaggeration of Mario in a few cases like weight and strength? We know Waluigi is an exaggeration of Luigi's height, but what if there's more to this? EVERYONE knows that Luigi's always been the better jumper when compared to Mario, and when you consider the difference between Mario and Wario's strength, its VERY easy to assume that Waluigi has some MONSTROUS jumping abilities. If they applied this logic to a playable Waluigi, he could reach some amazing altitude and possibly be the best/highest jumper in the game. Thoughts?

He might also have horrible traction too, but hopefully not.

It's just for fun, so you, and you know who you are, can take you flame starting elsewhere. If you don't agree with a cut that most had agreed on, I really don't care.

I'm the ultimate say because it's my game, I make the rules, and I make the images. I'm not gonna be stupid about it or anything, but don't think you can try and call the shots here kiddies. So, when we have deemed something cut, and I take the character off the roster, no whining.

There has to be cuts because I know we would like all these characters to be in, but let's be realistic.

If your character isn't on the innitial roster, give me reasons why they should be, doesn't mean I'll listen, but I just might.

Basically, the goal is a WIP roster, like the one in the SSBDG, except anyone can participate. It's pretty much the same concept. I want to see what WE AS A COMMUNITY THINK SHOULD happen for the Smash4 roster.

I've been generous, if I do say so myself.

So, take a look, and pick out a few sore thumbs, and give me the reasons why they should be cut... PICK A FEW. With so many people on this thread, this could get out of hand with all the posts I have to read.

Remember, no one is cut until I cut them... so feel free to debate, NOT ARGUE, amongst yourselves...

Okay, once I get a decent amount of cut lists, I'll compile them and the game will move on from there.

I'll start, unless someone ninja's me.
1. Cut either Mona or Captain Syrup. While yes, it might be ideal to represent both Wario Land and WarioWare with a new character, Wario as a whole doesn't need 3 characters. I would argue more for Mona than Syrup though, due to the clear idea of main representation of WarioWare through Brawl. I would also argue for Jimmy T. rather than Mona, but that would just be preaching to the choir.

2. Cut either Krom or Ike. Simply put, they are near exact, and while I know you'll just argue "but Roy is a clone of Marth", there is a fine difference. Roy actually fights different from Marth in the FE series. Krom has pretty much the same fighting style as Ike, and even uses Quick Draw and Aether, two of Ike's Brawl moves.

3. Cut Medusa. Simply put, Kid Icarus does not need a 3rd character, even if it was just revived and Sakurai made the game. Palutena is enough, even if I would like Medusa more. (And even if we had a 3rd character, I'd see Hades before Medusa. Number of games isn't everything, you know.)

4. Cut or replace Masked Man. Mother honestly doesn't need 3 characters, given that it isn't that major of a franchise for Nintendo. However, if one is absolutely needed, I feel that someone that can rep Mother 1 would be better, like possibly Mother 1 Giygas ("Giegue"). Or instead, Porky, who represents both Mother 2 and Mother 3, who we have characters for already (and that he is an antagonist for).

5. Even out the 3rd Parties. There is one for Sega, Level-5, and Namco, while Konami (Bomberman is technically a Konami rep now), Capcom, and Square-Enix get two. I can understand that Level-5 doesn't really have anyone else, but it would be best to give Sega and Namco another character if not cut Bomberman, Ryu, and either of the SE reps. Given that there are even more choices to be had, like Travis Touchdown, Ryu Hayabusa, etc., they could be used instead.

I'd say something about Krystal, but with you at the reigns, I feel she's going nowhere.
Other than that, that's all I have to say so far.

He's already playable without the Masked Man clothes. Just pick Lucas and change his color until you get to his Claus colors.

but lucas has a skin to make him look like claus (aside from the hair tilting to the wrong side) plus if "having died in a game" has any relevancy in terms of who can join sm4sh, i believe he would be crossed off the list, as far as mother characters go.

even as a devoted fan of the masked man and the mother franchise itself, i don't think adding a second character from mother 3 would work too well considering we already have lucas, which i personally believe we were LUCKY enough to get in brawl.

well, thats my 2 cents, i look foward to the result of this "little" roster game of ours.

I'd cut:

Mona: I really don't see Wario getting another rep, but if he does I'd rather have Syrup.

Bandana Dee: Kirby is complete imo.

Black Shadow: Samurai Goroh is my F-Zero pick,and it probably won't get three reps.

Black Mage: Keep FF away from Smash.

I think Geno is a worthy add, as he isn't really hated here. No biggie though
