I never thought about DK using the DKJR shirt. I like the idea. They could also give him some of Funky's attire, like everything except his Bandana.

Anyway, since Sony's making their own Smash, it would be interesting if Nintendo determines Smash4's 3rd party candidates based on who appears in Battle Royale. Like, if Sonic is in that game, Nintendo would be less willing to have him return to Smash.

The good news is that if something like this becomes the case, we can narrow down the list of possible characters. SSB will also have another distinguishing feature. The bad news is that we'll know such-and-such won't be in, one game will have the other and attract certain fans, AND Nintendo might miss the chance to have a very popular game-selling character, or vice-versa.

It's safe to bet Wario isn't going anywhere, whether they change his moveset or not. He's too unique of a character to just axe out of nowhere. Then again, so was Mewtwo...

But mewtwo was due to time constraint(spell?),wario seems like a character they will work in the beginning/middle,taking him out of little chances to be cut due to time constraint.

Not saying they should, I was exploring a possibility. I thought that Nintendo might try to have another competetive edge by saying if your character is in that game they don't want it in their's. Just being hypothetical. I realize that Smash4 will likely be released years after this game, which is another reason why this line of thoughts is unneccessary.

Because that's how selling third party rights would work. We'll probably end up seeing Metal Gear rights taken by Sony for their game.

You don't own the third party the rights for a infinite amount of time. It also depends how far you buy the rights into. Sony is most likely to aim to get exclusive rights for everything they can on their third parties so they can bring people over to their console. Snake is only in brawl just because Nintendo received the basic right to have him, not the exclusive one. So Sony at any moment could come in and get the exclusive rights to Snake because Nintendo has nothing on keeping on him.

No! Everything except his 32 teeth smile. I think the bandana woould be fine. Donkey Kong's hair have never be parts of any of his moves. Also, when wearing DK Jr. shirt, he could have the same hair and the same orangish fur.

@Cuts, I think it's safe to say if a character has been in two, or all of the Smash games, they won't be cut at this point.

The only characters I see really getting cut would be Snake, Sonic, Toon Link (specifically), Lucario or Pokemon Trainer.

Likewise, Kojima would probably not do it simply because of Smash.

Or, because Pokemon is such a quickly evolving, and vast entity who has in the past had it's entire newcomer plate wiped off, we could just say Lucario or Pokemon Trainer could be cut.

If we have four Pokemon slots again, then and only then would PT be cut for another 1st Gen(if it goes like Melee and Brawl) and a 5th gen.

If we have more slots... well, who knows what'll happen? If 6, it could stay like that, so let's say...

Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Meowth, Plusle & Minun, Genesect. If there's a 7th, Lucario. Key term being if. And for 8th, PT.

On the other hand... Pikachu, Jigglypuff, PT(2nd, 3rd, 4th Gen Pokemon), 5th Gen.

That covers all grounds. I kind of doubt we'll have 7 or 8 slots, though. If we do, Mario has to keep up with Dr. Mario and atleast two more.

Fire Emblem would probably need 4, same with Starfox and Donkey Kong.

Tons of issues indeed.

I can't choose between Bowser Jr., Little Mac and Rayman.





Anyway, its also possible that Sony might try some head hunting. They could make a contract saying 3rd party characters could appear in their crossover fighting game as long as they don't appear in Nintendo's. I doubt this would happen though, because this could convince some to refuse.

But, these games will probably be released years apart so all of this is pretty unlikely.

I mean, that's what Pokemon is all about: a Pokemon Trainer catching Pokemon and battling other Pokemon Trainers with their Pokemon. Right? Yes, it would be "stupid", but we've seen "stupid" decisions be made before when it comes to Pokemon. Which was my point.

Oh, but I think what happened to Mewtwo, while incredibly lame, was the smartest decision on Sakurai's part.

If you think about it, he knew he couldn't fit all the characters he wanted in the game... so he looked at his Pokemon roster

it probably came down to Jigglypuff and Mewtwo, and I think keeping Jigglypuff was the best choice... I mean it sucks, but it was the smartest thing to do.

Not before Samurai Goroh. The guy kicks ***, he was one of the original four characters of the first game of the series and his car, the Fire Stingray, was the faster one, even if you had to deal with a slow acceleration and kamikazly light armour. Oh! And Grey Fox (taken that Snake will be back). In the Super Smash Dojo there was a tease about it being a playable character.

I think we will never get rid of Jigglypuff. She has always been part of the series even thought she was included in the original game to recycle the model of Kirby and her only good is the snooze attack. And it's not even easy to use.

For me, it would have to be Shake King.
Smash needs more Shake King.
That is of course, excluding cut veterans. If including cut veterans, Mewtwo by far.
