What the hell is this
Hell no.

Just...hell no.

I can't even think of someone doing some crap like that.

Imagine if someone like...Spyro did that?

SEGA don't do it

I think it would be stupid to make him rep his own series. I hate when some characters rep their own series when they are truly part of an existing one. (like wario and yoshi)
No, they deserved their own series and need to be kept that way. There's a reason Tingle has yet to appear again. Either because he's dead via age in the Toon games or because he's his own true series.

WarioWare has nothing to do with the Mario series except that it has connections. Wario is his own character and series and people need to accept and realize this. There's a thing called sub-series that frankly do exist. Yoshi also has his own series, and it's a GOOD thing overall.

Hell, Peach and Luigi have their own series as well. They're just not repped in Smash at all, so there's no need for their own icon.

Impa has quite a big role in Skyward Sword. And if it's not big, at least it's bigger than Sheik's original role, which showed no fighting potential at all. Impa did show fighting potential however, and her being recent ( and revived somehow in the series) is a huge advantage for her over Sheik. So before judging Impa, judge Sheik instead. Her only role in Zelda was very minor as well.

I know I have suggested that the protagonists from Doki Doki Panic and the F-Zero anime original characters as other possible examples of Nintendo characters with IP issues (the Doki Doki Panic protagonists are owned by Fuji TV).

However, I just thought of something. Sakurai decided most of Brawl's roster in late 2005. This was well before the Geno bandwagon started up. I know during pre-Melee there were a lot of requests for Rare characters such as Banjo-Kazooie and Joanna Dark. The proximity mine and cloaking device in Melee seemed to be based off their Perfect Dark incarnations. Its possible that the "Nintendo" characters Sakurai was referring to were Rare characters, and was made aware of the rights issues pertaining to them early on in Brawl's development.

Its possible that Sakurai in 2005 originally thought that Nintendo had the rights to Banjo-Kazooie and Joanna Dark (who Sakurai might possibly have had in mind for a luigi-fied Snake clone), but upon closer examination realized that he could not put either of them in any form due to their IP issues (they were owned by Rare). I know at the very least Banjo-Kazooie sold very well in Japan, and even today I occasionally see requests for them on Japanese forums.

You know it's actually possible that we could get a Rareware character in Smash? Only on the 3DS version, though, since Microsoft isn't in the handheld business

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're twin brothers now

So his most pathetic incarnations character-wise. Sure, that's good.

Wind Waker is the only game where he did anything of utter interest besides be a crappy generic bad guy.
Whatever style the main zelda characters are in, Ganondorf should match

Ganondorf should stay realistic, but use 2 swords. and magic.

I have an objection. Why go back to Young Link? Keep Toon Link.
I have more objections even: why go back to OoT-models from the TP-models? Keep with the most recent designs. Exception: Ganondorf. Why? Cause he's awesome.

Btw, I prefer Toon Link as well. Unless Majora's Mask gets remade. But I much more prefer actual Link to be at least half decent...

If this fool vouches for viewtiful joe I'm out.

I remember nintendo did a fair bit of advertising for freaky forms, even though it was a pretty bad game what are the odds we'll see some content from there?

He's never done it while realistic. So it doesn't work.

Likewise, why not use his last design? It fits the Toon series, and he took badass to a whole new level in Wind Waker. He never did that in any other game.

It's literally his most notable appearance.

The realistic look is just a shallow attempt at making him look cool. It fails on all levels. He was never anything more than a boss fight in OOT and TP. Not to mention, he was completely pointless in TP too. So that was a waste of development time as is. Ooh, the fight was cool. Speaks nothing of his characterization, which sucked.

His best appearance is was in Wind Waker hands-down. Why? He actually was someone worth looking into as an actual CHARACTER.

Toon Ganondorf puts the G in Ganondorf. Much like how Impa puts the Impa in Impact.

What's wrong with Ganondorf using moves, etc. from different forms.

It's the same character.

Adult Link never used the boomerang when he was in Smash for the first time. He took it from a different incarnation of himself.

Toon Ganondorf is a joke lol
Yep, a joke totally made an entire world his *****.

Wind Waker is HUGE. And Toon Ganondorf pretty much took most of it over.

The other lands? Tiny in comparison.

He's also the only one that was nearly a true Monster. He attacked Kids directly, for cripes' sake. He's also the only one that wanted to essentially revive other races.

He's also the only one to have some goal besides "Destroy, Kill, Rule". Yep, totally a joke.

@PI: You're missing the point. The other two versions were generic villains completely. Toon Ganondorf is THE BEST version of him because he actually had something to his character. Also, there is absolutely no other possible new design to use. So why not use his most badass form to date?

Like Pushmo and Rolling Western, I have no idea.
The thing about eShop/WiiWare games is that they aren't as big as "physical" games...
And they came AFTER Brawl, so we can't have an idea of how Sakurai sees those games...
