NEW TOPIC: So, how do you guys feel about alternate costumes? I think it could be interesting...

Mario, Luigi, and Peach would have the most epic costumes!

Tanooki suits, Tanooki tails, wing caps, rabbit ears, Hammer Bro, penguin, various paper mario costumes(not 2D), then you can go to the various color swaps like Galaxy's flying Mario or the Fire Suit.

Dk and Diddy don't have much outside of costumes from other Kongs like Cranky, Funky, Swanky etc.

The Zelda characters also have much to work with from the various installments over the years.

Then for characters that truly don't cut it for smash, a full on costume skin would be welcome as well. Daisy for peach, Classic DK for DK, etc. God I would love that. Even if each character recieved just one true costume swap that would make me happy. They did it with Wario, hopefully they up the progress with everyone else.

With all the talk of customization on the 3DS to show them off on the Wii U, I wouldn't be surprised if beyond full on costume changes, we can dress characters as we please. At least add to their original costumes, like just sticking a Tonooki tail on someones butt with a DK tie on their neck.

Brawl tournament attendance is a tad higher at nationals than Melee, but Melee usually has local tournaments more often, although Brawl's are usually bigger.

Actually in tournaments players aren't afraid to play FFA's, teams, play with items, or play on banned stages. The 2nd last tournament I went to had Yoshi's Island 64 LEGAL as a joke. Y'all act we tournament-goers all super serious. My last tournament I actually played a coin match with one of the best players in NorCal for fun. C'mon, how many super serious people are on here=??? Just the randoms who hate on "tourneyf***s" because they have no lives.

The first tournament I went to was a Brawl tournament, and DSF (then the 2nd best Brawl player in the state of California) and other top Brawl players played with me 1 vs. 1 for 4 straight hours. They were owning me in order to teach me how to get better.

So was there a tournament where you played seriously AND with items on?

'cause if not you're just proving to me that they're tourneyfans.

Maybe by completing StreetPass challenges in Smash, you would gain new clothing accessories to customize your character with? That would be really cool, IMO

Now that is an awesome Street Pass idea! Judging by Sakurai's use of it in Uprising, I think we can count on something like you've just suggested.

Players make their very own race to the finish and that will be the street pass challenge.

To keep it from being impossible, the custom race to finish has to be beaten with one character by the creator.

Nice idea Metal, just putting a finishing touch on it.

I think giving characters a completely different skin to represent a lesser character would be great. Daisy for Peach, Dr Mario for Mario, Pit and Dark Pit etc would be great. Give them the voice but make it purely cosmetic, as long as no real attributes of the character are changed I think it is a fantastic idea.

As much as I would love this, I think the likelihood is low...

Other than the VA, they could change his taunts/victory poses when he is Dark Pit.

No way Nintendo would assume all of that dept for themselves. If worse comes to worst for Sega I expect individual IP's to be sold off. I think that happened to Acclaim years ago.

I would absolutely love for Nintendo get a hold of Sonic and Knights. They would do both properties more justice than they have seen in years. Though recently Sonic has been picking up.

I HATE Silver. I think Sega is going to bring back Ray & Mighty soon (they even made a cameo in Generations).

The whole buying action figures to unlock playable characters is a bit iffy though..

Does Sonic really need a reboot now? I know for the last decade he had been going downhill with people saying his games were awful. But his last 3 games have been picking up more speed and were very good. Sonic is coming back now so I don't see why they want to reboot. Enless, they want a reboot in order to have a fresh start with new Sonic games that wont be bad.
